First of all, I feel like the story content shouldn't be a DLC. While it does feel like a separate episode from the general vibe the base game is presenting (I really felt like I finally get to spend some time with Qingshu and get to know her better since the main story gets down to business very quickly), the events within are so important to the main characters, it's a bit of a disservice to move it to a DLC. You even get the tagline of the game mentioned at the very end. But it is what it is.
I liked it quite a bit. The game essentially switches from a RPG to a platformer (with literally only one fight sequence that's also simplified compared to the base game) and it's relatively well done. I somehow wished it was implemented in some way in the base game as I think it would've complemented it pretty well. Other people who've reviewed it mentioned it feels like a movie and it really does. You get a platforming sequence, then a bunch of cutscenes with some very limited exploration sequences (usually just walking from one quest mark to another). From the gameplay perspective, if that's not your cup of tea, you might want to just watch it on youtube. The story content isn't particularly long.
I guess what's the most important thing about this DLC is that we finally see Qingshu shed some of her extremely ascetic image she's retaining in the base game and see her go to great lengths purely for her desires. I suppose it makes the whole DLC a bit more intimate than usual and really makes you feel you get to know her more, now that she's free from battling greater evil threatening the entire world. I think the ending in the base game was fitting, I somehow liked it being so bittersweet but the ending for this DLC is great too. I suppose you really start caring about characters when despite not minding bittersweet or downright sad endings, you kind of cheer for the main character and hope they'll be able to turn things around and get what they want.
All in all, if you liked and completed the base game, you need to experience the story content in this DLC too, in one way or another. It's worth it and it's a fitting end to this game. Patiently waiting for another game in the series or perhaps another DLC for this one
