This game shows a high degree of promise and assuming that the developer continues to progress it as he currently is then it should eventually reach it's full potential. If you decide to purchase it and you really should at the stupid price it's being offered then best to know in advance that there so far is no tutorial so you will have to find your own way around. This can be a bit tricky to start with but just collect enough items to build your craft bench and from then on it becomes a little bit simpler. My one suggestion is that once you've settled on your starting position make a note of your x,y and z axis as once you leave that area and move around on the huge map provided it is very hard to find your way back home. Very good attempt for the low cost so if you like this type of game then definitely worth giving it a go.

This game has a lot of potential to be something epic. I really really hope the developers stick with it! As for the game in its current state: - UI is very limited, kind of a press every key until something happens so you know what to do - Running the timbers to connect power is a little odd at first. Main concept; if you're not going from one building to another, you must connect to a stand. (ie no free hanging timbers) - Starting grind is very heavy, no automation for parts needed to advance the tech tree, at least so far for me, I just unlocked copper. - To unlock tech, you need to put stone blocks in the "structures" cube, and gears into the "mechanical" cube. This is really confusing at first. You're just presented with a blank window and it was only through trial and error of dragging every item I had into the cube did I discover what to do. Those are the bad, but let me emphasize my first sentence with this, the bad by no means takes away from how awesome this game could be, even in this very primitive form, the potential is evident. I found I'd spent 2 hours grinding away before I knew it. 10/10 worth 6 bucks.

I initially played and reviewed this game in January 2022. I just tried to play it again, and I'm changing my review recommendation, mostly due to the lack of any tutorial, instructions, or direction. Two years and still none of that - I was expecting a much more mature game after all this time. Original review: This game is very early in development, so don't expect a user friendly interface, tutorial, and so forth. It does have a lot of potential if it can stay in development for a couple of years. I'm recommending it based on that potential, don't buy it if you're looking for anything close to a finished (or easily playable) game.

I hesitate to say 'yes' with this one, BUT, I think it has a lot to offer in the future. Getting started is rough, you're thrown into what appears to be a near-desert world and left to fend for yourself. Intriguing, I know. Five hours and two restarts later I have - through trial and error -learned the very basics of getting started. There is no tutorials and no quick start guides (may try and start one). The game itself is rough around the edges, gooey in the middle, and the top might be a little burnt ... Bakers reference :) but it has a concept of world building, planet exploration, and automation -- Think Satisfactory + Minecraft + Most Mechanic Games -- There is a lot to unfold on the potential lying around in this. There is survival aspects, building, automation, the works that can and a lot most likely will be done. I recommend this game based on it's future development. I think the developer has an idea that has been on the minds of many players for a while now and it could easily take off.

Engineer Alpha a open world survival & automation you start from scratch on an empty world gather a some logs(wood) This can be a bit tricky to start if you press the F key this will bring up a build menu for building bench so you can make hand tools with the collect items you need to build your craft bench then you can start collecting other resources once you've settled on your starting position make a note of your x,y and z axis there is a guide in the community hub

This is very, very early access. The whole world is just one single biome that just seems to repeat itself every few hundred feet or so, so there's no real reason to explore, and the graphics and animations are very basic. However I will say that the skeleton of a solid automation game is there, but it needs a heck of a lot more meat on its bones to be worth playing. If you're debating whether to buy this, my advice would be to wishlist it for now and then consider buying once it's fully released.

Oh so very Alpha at the moment, Very basic textures and options at this stage. However despite the "bare bones" the game play is engaging - you certainly have the incentive to automate as soon as possible! Don't expect much in the way of a tutorial and the tool tips are not instructive for the most part. Looking forward to seeing the game develop and hope the developer does well out of this game. Note this is very much an alpha and I've had a few crashes so far...so save often!

I don't usually write reviews, but since this game does have a lot of potential and was pretty much just released, I thought I might as well. I'll split this in two parts, my review and a short section of tips that I have found helpful while playing. Review: This game, as others have already mentioned is very similar to modded Minecraft. You would find the same functions if you combined TerraFirmaCraft, Immersive Engineering and Create. However, it's not just a copy, it is it's own game and hopefully will run better than mashing 200 mods together. Right now there is very little content and while it certainly is fun, there is no end goal really aside from completing the technology tree, no challenges, no hostile npcs, etc. Of course, I expect this to change with over time since it does seem like the game is recieving updates. I do see much potential in the engineering aspect of it since it seems like speeds, torque, etc. will all be relevant and not just, plug machine into power and done. I could further go on a massive rant of what I would like to see included, but that is for another time. Long story short, there is not much now, but there is certainly potential. For $7 (what it is currently) and a chance of this becoming a fleshed out and polished game, it's worth it in my opinion. Tips: - Make a lot of tools, not just one. Tools break really quickly in this game and you will want at least three at any one time for mining or cutting down trees. - Write down your coordinates before exploring since there is no markers for your map. - Plant twenty or so potatoes since you will go through a lot of cooked potatoes (currently the only food) while mining or cutting down trees. - Copper is easy to find, go for that technology since they have double the durability of wood tools and wood is harder to get. - Right now you don't have to worry about hostile npcs, so no need to build underground or to build a house unless you want to. It will take a lot of time though if you do.

This game has a potential. Even though currently I cannot give a thumbs up, I can easily change my vote once these two issues are resolved: 1- Crashes way too often. 2- Lacks in game and Youtube video tutorials

This game has a massive potential! Right now i look at it and see a rough gem! From all the mining and building mechanics to the tech tree and automation of production it is a lot of fun! I usually never post reviews for games but feel that this game needs more people to play it and help polish it so the developer can get more feedback! I am really looking forward to the upcoming improvements!
