This game looks it might be nice but WARNING --- As of this review (1/14/2018) this game does NOT work with the Oculus touch controllers. (Several people have indicated they have the same problem in the community hub) Since that's what I have, I can't play the game, and so I am giving it a "not recomended" I would like to point out that the game SAYS it works with motion tracked controller, but aparently not all of them. Hopefully they will get this fixed, and I will be able to change my review.

Echoing what others have said about Oculus. Touch controllers don't work and it doesn't appear that the developers are working on it. I don't recommend this for OCULUS ONLY. Having played on the Vive, I found it to be enjoyable.

Beware no Oculus support but otherwise this game is amazing. It is basic but very calming and enjoyable, with later puzzles being fairly challenging. User created puzzles are also support.

In my opinion this is a fantastic game to get started with the fascinating world of VR. Thanks to the peacefully pace even people whom never wore VR goggles won't be overwhelmed with hectic movements or eye straining effects. The game world looks fantastic, in all three worlds are so many things to discover. The puzzles seem to be really simple in the beginning but getting challenging and exciting real quick. Seriously props to the devs. I had a lot fun!

One of the few VR games at this price I feel was worth it. Smooth experience using the Vive, comfortable - not tiring at all, 0 sickness from it. Classic puzzle idea put into 3D space. I felt this worked well, regardless of how short/long the game is, I felt it was worth the $15. Considering some of the VR games I've triedat this price or higher, I'm very happy with this. Of course more puzzles added to it would always be welcome to get more bang for your buck, but I wouldn't pass this game up if you have a Vive and like this type of puzzle gameplay.

Wow! This game stands out from all of the many new VR titles. It is a relaxing, beautiful 3D puzzle game with nice NewAge music, which is only possible in VR. A good sense of space, a lot of fun tinkering and imagination are needed to run through all the lovingly created levels. Now I know why this game is nominated for German Computer Game Award ;-) Highly recommended. --------------------------------- German version: Wow! Dieses Spiel hebt sich von all den vielen neuen VR-Titeln besonders ab. Wirklich mal was anderes.

This is a wonderful relaxed puzzle game, The addition of a third dimension adds a great deal to this type of game and being able to pick up, retate and place elements just makes it a really compelling and tactile experience. Try the demo. The addition of workshop support is a great bonus too! The backgrounds are also really pretty and performance is solid. One of my favourites.

This is one of the best games to be played in VR! 1) It has a nice, beautiful and calming style with good looking graphics and sounds. 2) Interaction with the objects is natural (like in real life) and the behavior of the various objects are easy to understand, but still require thinking to be used correctly to solve the puzzles. 3) During the game the puzzles get more and more complex, but since it just feels so natural it is easy to continue playing and finally discovering the solution is really satisfying. 4) The whole family can enjoy this game as it is easy to understand, has a very easy control scheme and since you are simply in another room/dimension where all locomotion is done by walking inside the boundaries of your play area without any artificial motion or teleportation there is no way anybody can feel any discomfort. This game is highly recommended to anyone who likes puzzles and/or wants to show the power of VR to the family!

A very neat puzzle game. Lots of fun tools, pretty relaxing, good difficulty curve, but a little short. But hey, it's $15, and it has a level editor. Vive content is still a little thin, so this is definitely worth picking up.

I bought this on a whim as the interactions looked interesting, and it didn't disappoint! Just like Water Bears this is a nice puzzler to sink your teeth into. For me it took a little more than an hour to finish all the standard levels, then there are user made levels but I have not dived into those yet. The puzzles themselves ramp up nicely, new pieces are introduced and then used in more advanced constellations. The world itself feels very coherent, it fits well together, has nice audio and animations, a non-spoken journey through the world across the levels. All in all, if you like beam based puzzles, this should be well worth your coin :)

It's a VR game that you can play standing still. You basically drag and drop objects to direct the flow of different coloured energy beams. You have to alter the colour of the beams to solve the puzzles. The default mode in Seize the Light does not rush you. The game forces you to think outside the box almost from the beginning. I like it a lot.

Check out the full review @ https://vivereport.com/2016/09/27/carpe-lucem-vr-a-steam-punk-puzzle-paradise/ " This game is sensory heaven – the visuals and the music just melt into each other like butter on fresh toast." Your goal is to manipulate different colors of light that flow from suspended vials. You have to direct the stream toward mechanical flowers of the same color. Tools consist of mirrors, separators, converters and mixers, which all look straight out of a mad scientist’s lab from the Industrial Revolution — brass cogs, gears, coils. You get the idea. Once all color streams are matched to flowers, you move on to the next puzzle. What’s great is that the light spectrum combinations are actually spot-on.

I'm not a fan of flat puzzle games, but the demo of this one convinced me 100%! Beautiful art style mixed with interesting puzzles make this game a real gem!

Played on original Vive This game is a wonderful meditative puzzle game that really takes advantage of full dimensionality without stressing you out. It's not terribly long or difficult but it's also not upsettingly short or easy. If you want some nice puzzles in a beautiful environment, then this game is well worth picking up.

Carpe Lucem - Seize the Light VR is a virtual reality puzzle game where the player bends, blends, reflects, and redirects brands of light in order to progress. Each puzzle consists of a set of light emitters, a variety of artifacts for the player to interact with (directly, via applying light, or both) and a set of color-coded receptors, all of which must generally be activated in order to solve the puzzle. Everything is suspended in midair in front of and around the player, delineating a zone where she can move around, inspect the problem, think about solutions, and try things out. Each group of puzzles is surrounded by a unique environment, brightly colored yet soothing. The music and sound effects are soothing as well, combining with the visuals to produce an almost meditative atmosphere. The main game is fairly short - I only spent a few hours playing through it. However, it also supports Steam Workshop and features a builtin puzzle editor, so there's plenty more potential enjoyment to be had untangling new problems or devising your own puzzles with which to bedevil your friends. Carpe Lucem is a tantalizing taste of the future of VR puzzle gaming.

The XBOX controller doesnt work with Oculus for me and others. Look at forum. The dev doesn't respond to problems much. Still can't play and horrible support.

I'm just about finished with this one. I liked the built in puzzles, but it seems like this should have been longer for the price.
