The Witcher 3 isn’t just a game. It’s a towering achievement in storytelling, world-building, smooth combat system, inventory management, exploration and game design. Every element, from its morally complex narrative to its richly detailed world, is crafted with incredible care and respect for the source material and for the player. What makes it truly stand out, even 10 years after its release, is its grounded, mature tone and its refusal to talk down to its audience. It doesn’t rely on trends, gimmicks, or preachy undertones. Instead, it delivers a deep, nuanced adventure that trusts you to think, explore, and get lost in a world that feels genuinely lived-in.Geralt is a compelling protagonist, the quests are unforgettable, and the choices you make actually matter. This is the kind of game that reminds us what RPGs should be, driven by character, consequence, and immersive storytelling, not by checklists or ideology. A masterpiece in every sense of the word. Playing this game is like entering the world of Game of Thrones, Lord of The Rings and Harry Potter combined. This game is a heaven for fantasy lovers. Rating 10/10: Best game of all time!
The game is hugely immersive and has no weak points in my opinion, must play. I can't wait to continue the journey through Heart & Stone and Blood & Wine DLCs after taking a break.
Best limerick in-game: "Lambert, Lambert - what a prick."

Probably most enjoyable game I have ever played. The scope and detail are amazing. Very immersive, especially tied in with the many other Witcher Universe books, shows and web articles. Very highly recommended.
“Something Ends…”
(Russian review below)
After hundreds of hours spent in Sapkowski’s universe, you come to realize — there is no way out of there.
The game that my fifteen-year-old self once met with skepticism still inspires, surprises, and sets the highest standards even ten years later.
The books that gave birth not just to games, but to a whole new and unique perception of Eastern European medievalism. Sorceresses, royal intrigues, and the clumsy neutrality we’re forced to break again and again. Difficult and brutal choices.
The swamps of Velen, bustling Novigrad, the free isles of Skellige. Cozy Kaer Morhen and the boundless vineyards of Toussaint.
Ciri, whose appearance on screen always takes us right back to the pages of the books. And of course, Gwent. Thank you for existing.
Thank you for the wonderful time, the emotions, and the adventures. No ratings are needed here. Only endless awe at the depth of the storytelling, the richness of the world, the beloved characters, and the countless details—impossible to catch them all, not in one playthrough, nor five.
And while this may sound like a farewell, returning to the Path is inevitable.
Of course, we deserve a bit of a rest - swords and armor carefully placed on their stands at Corvo Bianco, all achievements unlocked, and Roach resting in her stable.
But we all know - If something ends, something begins.
* * *

Wow. This game is truly astounding. I went into playing this game not really knowing what to expect, although I had heard good things about it. I have never played any of the first two Witcher games either. I have to admit, it was a weird transition from Bloodborne to the Witcher 3 because of the significant difference in pacing. However, they're two completely different games and the Witcher certainly proved itself to me. From the amazing sceneries to the engaging story, this game is definitely praiseworthy. However, the most compelling part of the story for me was definitely the characters. The character development in this game is amazing, and I truly began to feel a sense of comfort and love for nearly all of the characters. I loved the characters and lore of this game so much, in fact, that I actually played through the game multiple times, covering the main story and various side quests. It is very easy to put in over 150 hours into this game, as I have put in at least 500. Furthermore, I bought all of the books that the game series was based on and I am currently reading them with delight. If buying the entire book series simply because the game was incredible doesn't convince you that this is definitely a worthy buy, then I don't know what will. This game does not fail to impress and I can't wait for the upcoming DLCs. Hopefully you give it a shot, because it is definitely worth your time and money. Congrats to CD Projekt Red for creating such a magnificent experience with the Witcher 3.

Words cannot express how much I love this game. I don't mind the timing on Steam; I've beaten this game many times and have over 600 hours on different accounts. But back to the game.
The world of the Witcher is incredible. The story is one that completely consumes you and provides one of the best experiences ever. And I'm not only talking about the base game. The DCs are worth buying. The protagonist is now a legend, the side characters are so well done you just want to get to know them better, and make Geralt develop deep relationships with them, YES I'M TEAM YENNEFER... And... Ciri. Best girl- *that's not time for simping* The relationship between Geralt and Ciri is one of the best father-daughter relationships presented in the video games. I'm not afraid to say that, even though I might trigger the Last of Us fans.
Everybody should experience The Witcher and get to know its world. And better through the games and book than through that thing that tries to be Witcher, and it's called Witcher by Netflix. Know better, choose the books and games.
I'm eager for Witcher 4.

Not gonna lie, I jumped in just to see what the hype was about… and boom—hooked. The story’s got mad twists, and you actually get to pick how stuff plays out. The world? Huge. Like, get lost doing side stuff for hours kinda huge. Even the side quests hit hard. Didn’t think I’d vibe this much, but here I am, deep in the zone. 100% worth it no cap

My thoughts after completing 100% of the game
This game is nothing short of a masterpiece. I've played it ever since it came out and lost count of how many times I've finished it. From the very first quest, the atmosphere and story pulls you into the world where you'll sink countless hours over and over again, each time discovering something new.
The story writing in this game is nothing short of miraculous. A subtle secondary quest about a certain man trying to help another man on the street may lead you to rehearsing a play involving a falling of an Elven king (won't spoil too much there :D). It's perfect, so perfect in fact that this very game inspired me to read the complete Witcher book saga. Rarely does one encounter a game that invokes such an emotion within a player where you could literally sob (not exaggerating) for an event in a game, or get you so hyped up, emotional and completely invested in a quest that may even not be the main one. Not to mention, Gwent is a hella of a lot of fun to play :D
Graphics are astounding. For a game that came a decade+ ago, this game set a high standard (in my opinon) on how graphics should be handled. The game runs beautifully on a 3080, 5800X3D on a 1440p 165Hz panel, with a constant 120+ frames. Stunning sceneries, accompanied with yet another incredible point about this game, the music, are unmatched. There's just one feeling one can feel when visiting the fields of Ard Skellig or listening to a certain trobairitz in Novigrad.
Combat is solid. Nothing special, nothing extreme, just polished with a lot of room for experimentation to make your build synced with your playstyle and gear. Want a sign build? Poison? Heavy attack? Glass cannon? All of them are well balanced and fun to play.
The DLCs could've been the games by themselves. Their stories are incredibly well written and give you access to new areas, expanding on what is already a gigantic map. I'd dare say that the Duchy of Toussaint is one of the most beautiful places in gaming to this date.
This is one of the best games ever made. There are some bugs (Roach having fun uphill/downhill, downright glorious), Act 3 of the main campaign feels a bit rushed, but nothing even remotely detracts from me giving this hearty recommendation to anyone that hadn't had a chance to experience this world for the first time.

An extraordinary experience elevated by the loveliest fantasy universe I've had the honor of discovering.
The Witcher 3 is an abundant source of amazement with its gorgeous explorable worlds as well as its long list of intricate characters ; some loved, some begging for a silver sword through the thorax.
Break free from the expected political neutrality as you delve into the labyrinth of dilemmas left & right. (I swear that pun wasn't intended.)
Your sword won't be the only thing getting wet, as all the sorceresses in your viscinity will. Geralt has a knack for such things. Mixing monster hunting with pleasure never actually hurt anyone, right? So does having sex with at least 50% of the female roster.
Jest aside, I've never had more fun with an RPG ever before in my life. This is a masterpiece, and I doubt many will argue with that. The side quests either add additional layers to the characters' already complex personalities, or make you die of laughter. There are rare exceptions I can think of off the top of my head, but hey, no game's perfect ; however the positive overwhelmingly outweighs the negative.
This entry has gotten me into the franchise, as I'm playing the 2007 and 2011 entries. When you encounter a world as rich as this one is, you can't help but seek more in the source material : Sapkowski's The Last Wish, Time of Contempt and so on.
You will not regret this. This has been a crucial gaming experience that has affected me so positively that i'll forever smile at the mention of it.

This is one of the games that make you feel empty after you finish, because they are soooooo good. You want more and not because there are unfinished parts, you want more because you get obsessed (or maybe is it just me lmao). Everything is beautiful. I definitely recommend playing with the dlcs. Without spoilers, I haven't played a greater game in a very long time and I can't get enough of it. I'm definitely gonna replay it it the nearest future. And ofc POLANDDD 🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱

Took me 5 years to finally sink my teeth into this game after countless false starts where I assumed it just wasn't for me. Now I finally understand all the praise that this game has received.
I've never played a game as varied and story rich as this one, where I forget that the optional quest I'm doing is not a part of the main story. Each one feels worthwhile and it never feels like a waste of time.
100% recommend for anyone that is looking for a game to take slow, or a world to be lost in.

Game is a masterpiece. Story is great, graphics still hold up in 2025, almost everything about it is great. So I'll only comment on the bad (which doesn't mean it is bad, it's just the only relevant stuff to talk about)
Optimization: The game runs great on the latest hardware. However, it feels like there is some CPU bottleneck, which should not happen anywhere with a modern CPU. Which ties into the next thing: The game doesn't actually have AA, native AA is awful, it uses FSR2 (!!) as AA. We don't even have a more recent version of FSR. And yes, that is kind of necessary since the game doesn't run as good as it should in modern hardware.
As for gameplay: the combat is not bad, however it lacks a bit of depth. Even if you unlock all the potions and focus on alchemy, you're going to be using a basic set of moves that doesn't change at all. Another thing: The leveling system. CDPR is never changing it, and I'm OK with that. But I don't know why they decided to restrict players to 12 skills, while offering a lot more skills. It feels unnecessarily limiting, and at a certain point you're just not going to invest in skills (since there's nowhere to put them).
Anyway, that is my take on the game. CDPR's graphics updates look amazing (it looks like a completely different game with RT on). However, they should have made some more changes. Another thing: hairworks sucks. They should have removed the option or improved the hair physics themselves. The performance cost of fancy hair physics and AA is huge. Also, it's a crashy feature. It crashed on me several times in Touissant.
If you played it before the update, it is worth picking up again. Because it truly looks like a different game.

Best open world rpg I ever played. Plot and athmosphere in this game can hold you for a long time. Gameplay is still good and not as boring as many people say. Many people complain about grind, but it is still funny to clear points on map even after 100 hours in game. After New-gen update graphics is awesome.

One of the best games in history. Game of the Year 2015. The best game in the trilogy. Amazing graphics, very beautiful locations. Detailed textures and models. Mega rich story, this masterpiece is addictive after the first launch. The story is very well written: A bunch of main quests, as well as five times more side quests. Completing them is a pleasure. A lot of equipment, for every taste. The combat system is masterpiece. Everyone has their own choice of how they prefer to fight. A lot of moral choices that carry consequences. This game makes you think before each choice. Many options for passing the game. Many monsters against which the player can fight, each of them has its own weaknesses. You need to find an approach to each of them. The game reveals the life of a Witcher in all its glory. The game tells about all classes of society, from peasants to kings. The game makes you experience all the problems of this world on yourself. In my opinion everyone should get to know the world of the Witcher. It's a masterpiece. Thanks to the developers for this game.

I’ve finally reached the point where I have to say just how great this game is.. I haven`t played too many open world games, but to say this open world fell into my soul - yes definitely. The use of signs and alchemy is really well implemented in game so must say the gameplay is very cool, if we talk more about the open world, then you can be in one small location for hours, and after a while come back again because you learned another secret that you saw on YouTube and about visual its just great as it`s. What else to say if even i ended up reading The Witcher books and i recommend them to everyone. It`s deeply atmospheric experience.
-Any witcher contracts left on the board?
- If not, then is there any alcohol left?

It's funny, the first time I tried to play The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, it didn't quite click with me. I put it down after a few hours and didn't touch it again for months. However, I decided to give it a second chance, and I am so glad I did. This time, I was completely and utterly hooked.
The world is so vast and beautiful, and the story is incredibly engaging. But what truly sets this game apart for me are the side quests. They aren't your typical fetch quests; each one is a compelling story in its own right, with memorable characters and meaningful choices. I often found myself getting lost for hours just exploring the world and stumbling upon new adventures.
The Witcher 3 is a masterpiece that completely pulls you into its world and doesn't let go. If you, like me, had a slow start, I urge you to give it another try. You won't regret it :)

One of the best RPGs ever made. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is an epic journey full of rich storytelling, memorable characters, and a massive open world that feels alive. Every quest, even the side missions, has depth and purpose. Geralt is a legendary protagonist, and the choices you make actually matter.
The world-building is top-tier. From war-torn villages to monster-infested swamps, the detail is stunning. The music, voice acting, and atmosphere all pull you into the gritty, mature fantasy setting.
Combat is satisfying once you learn it, though it can feel a bit clunky at first. Some minor bugs and dated mechanics hold it back from a perfect 10. But with the Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine expansions, this game becomes even more unforgettable.
If you enjoy deep RPGs, strong narratives, and immersive worlds, this is a must-play.

This the 1st game of the trilogy that I started with but I really feel connected to the plot and characters. I would recommend this game to anyone and everyone, "100% worth it".
Side missions in this games are not tiring and feel connected to the main narrative and acts as an accessory to the plot. The world is really vast and you will encounter diverse character (NPCs & Monsters) which gives us immersive experience.
Even if you never played this game before or don't know prior story of Witcher universe, do give it a chance you will be hooked, GGs .

Great game, 50h for the main story is wild, and somehow the game was fun and didn't get boring. There are some glitches, as to be expected from a 10 year old game, but thats fine. The only thing that is the most annoying is that the map doesn't change regardless of what ending you get

I love all of the The Witcher games, they aren't so good regarding fighting and movements, but the lore and the fantasy medieval theme make them very worth playing. This third game is even prettier than the previous ones, and the screenshot mode is really good to take good shots, but the highlight for me was the animated scenes. During the gameplay, the animated scenes make the lore even more immersible and interesting. I rushed through the main quests and found a few of them to be a bit repetitive and boring though. I still have to return to playing it for the side quests and start the DLCs at some point.

Story, Graphics, UI, Menus, Cut Scenes all great and fantastic as everybody know coming from PR.
But the movement and fighting mechanic is terrible! It probably good for 2018, but playing this in 2025 is tough. Silly things can't even auto-avoid small branch or tiny bump on the street and just stuck forever if player not navigate around it. The gameplay should be intuitive enough to avoid static obstacle, you're playing as the Witcher for Zoltan's sake. Fought dragons and underworld creatures, but unable to bypass tiny rock.
Intuitive. Lack of Intuitive control made the game experience tough. The only and first game that I set the difficulty to Easy because don't want to deal with the clunky fighting mechanic.
Fighting is also repetitive. I'm here for the story basically.
Thoughts
I'm late to the party. Been playing The Witcher 3 on and off, across multiple platforms thanks to cross progression. It took me a couple of years, but my journey finally came to an end. And what a journey that was... This was an experience that I'll always fondly remember, but now it's time to hang up the swords and patiently await the next one.
What I liked
🟢 Detailed and rich audiovisual aesthetics inspired by Slavic folklore that add a lot to the immersion
🟢 So many iconic, well written and fleshed out characters, each with unique personalities, motivations
🟢 Top tier writing across the board, with lots of meaningful decisions & lasting consequences
🟢 The game is sprawling with high quality content, there is barely any filler
🟢 Each expansion feels like a standalone game
🟢 Gwent
What I didn't like
🟠 Clunky, often frustrating controls and UI that gets too cumbersome to navigate
🟠 Underwhelming itemization which makes exploration feel less rewarding - once you get your Witcher gear, all other gear is rendered useless
🟠 Also Gwent

I thought I was just jumping into another RPG. What I got is a living, breathing world that completely swallowed me whole.
The writing is incredible. Every quest — even the side quests — feels handcrafted, layered with emotion, mystery, or heartbreak. Some of the site quest lines alone could win an Emmy.
The characters arte deep, believable, and unforgettable. Whether you're talking to a stranger on the road or someone who’s been with you the whole journey, the emotional weight of these relationships sneaks up on you. You start to care — really care.
The world is immersive, rich, and full of soul. Every region feels distinct, from windswept coastlines to misty forests and bustling towns. It’s not just beautiful — it feels alive. You don’t just explore it — you exist in it.
The music still haunts me. The combat feels satisfying. And Gwent… I didn’t expect to become addicted to a card game inside another game, but here we are.
This game didn’t just entertain me — it made me feel like I lived in another world.
10/10. Slay a griffin. Play some Gwent. Make terrible romantic decisions. You won’t regret a second.

Doesn't work on my PC for some reason, I have windows 11, AMD 6500xt and a good CPU but as I hit play it starts to run and then it says, "play" again, over and over. And I've tried everything to fix it, sadly since the game did work at first when I had windows 10, I played a little over ten hours so I'm unable to get a refund. Just super disappointing.
