This game is possibly not secure. There is a security vulnerability described below. Opening any CoD made prior to 2015 and connecting to the internet will result in a chance for people to gain access to your pc. 2 security breaches are known: CVE-2018-20817 (SV_SteamAuthClient in various Activision Infinity Ward Call of Duty games before 2015-08-11 is missing a size check when reading authBlob data into a buffer, which allows one to execute code on the remote target machine when sending a steam authentication request. This affects Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Call of Duty: Black Ops 1, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.) CVE-2018-10718 (Stack-based buffer overflow in Activision Infinity Ward Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 before 2018-04-26 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via crafted packets) These are some things they can do even if you just boot up the game and get to the menu: Hidden Remote System Access System Information File Manager Hidden Desktop Usage Monitor on/off Hidden Browser Usage Open/close CD Hidden Chrome Usage Show/Hide taskbar Start Up Manager Hidden Firefox Usage Show/Hide Start Button Task Manager Hidden Edge Usage Show/Hide Explorer Remote Shell Usage Show/Hide Clock TCP Connection Show/Hide Tray Reverse Proxy Show/Hide Mouse Registry Editor Hidden Explorer Enable/Disable TaskMgr UAC Exploit Enable/Disable Regedit Disable WD Disable UAC Format All Drives DDOS attack Audio recording Webcam recording Device information Process hollowing Credential stealing Discord token stealing I have reviewed every CoD I own that is older than 2015 with these vulnerabilities as harmful and put those 2 CVE's under the description why. This is to warn others about the issues, as I am not a networking or security expert and can't advise on how to mitigate the risk other than to not install the game at all. It's my slim hope that by leaving this review, the issue might be noticed by Activision/IW/Sledgehammer and action may be taken. Update: note that a similar RCE exploit was found in Black Ops III and appears to have been fixed in a 2023 update. I have not found reliable information indicating a fix for this game, however.

One of the best campaigns for a call of duty game. I wish they would get back to this and give us longer campaigns again. But wait for the game to go on sale if your going to get it.

The campaign was good, but I didn’t enjoy the multiplayer. Time to kill is way too fast, and it feels like everyone just camps with overpowered weapons. That said, the DLC for multiplayer was actually really cool being able to play as Predator or Michael Myers was awesome. This was one of the first games to add gun DLC and character skins, and it didn’t cost an arm and a leg like modern games. The only reason I really played this game was for the Extinction mode, which is way more fun better than Spec Ops, in my opinion. You should definitely get the DLC and play Extinction with friends it’s extremely fun.

I really like this game, especially the campaign so it's sad to see it be so underrated.

the best COD game yet, still waiting on the sequal to find out what happens with Logan. Survival at the end of the game brings the whole experience together. 8/10.

This game was underrated when it came out. Only call of duty game what i played on console a lot and in pc when it came out! Every game mode in this game is awesome and love the alien wave based mode, infinity ward gave us something new and special yet they stopped this potential series with a cliffhanger... Hopefully story of Rorke and Logan will continue at some point. Only bad thing is the matchmaking system when trying to play with friends and try to find lobbies... You need to have moderate NAT type to connect with friends.

Only played the campaign so far, what a great story line! Would love to see a Ghosts 2. For me, it was as good as World at war, and MW3

I don't play most games for multiplayer so i can't say anything on that, but i love the story so much! I can't wait to replay this to 100% it, once i'm done playing. It's really repayable, I love the characters in it! I pray to god they make a ghosts 2 as i will 100% buy it, and the cliffhanger? GOOD LORD! I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS NEXT! Hopefully in a few years they'll come out with ghosts 2 after all the people have been begging for it, i am too lol

This review is mainly for the campaign, as you probably won't be playing multiplayer or extinction, since not many people will be online, and it's unsafe to play on the online servers. So keep that in mind if you buy this game for the multiplayer game modes. Anyways, the Call of Duty: Ghost campaign was very enjoyable for me. Some say it's not as good as other CoD campaigns, but I haven't played many other CoD campaigns. It's mostly stealth-based, unless you decide to go guns blazing. The gameplay was pretty fun, nothing negative to really say about it, besides maybe some certain portions being annoying on Veteran difficulty. The story was quite interesting and cool, but nothing crazy. Got maybe 5-6 hours out of the game. TL:DR I would recommend Call of Duty: Ghosts strictly for it's campaign, but make you sure you buy it while it's on sale. 8/10

Ghosts was my first Call of Duty game, and I played it on the PS3. I instantly fell in love with it. The campaign is one of my favorites, even though some people don't like it. It took me about 8.5 hours to finish and 13 hours to get all achievements, and it still feels great to play. The ending always leaves me wanting more, and I wish they would make a second Ghosts game to continue the story. I recently bought the game again to relive my childhood memories. The campaign is still just as fun as I remember. However, the multiplayer isn't as active as it used to be. It usually takes me 30 minutes to an hour to find a game, which is a bit disappointing.

Did they get Tom Clancy cousin to write this? It was so funny how bad it was and how serious it took itself. Gameplay wise there is actually a lot of variety to it and its def worth your time for $20 or less

Call of Duty Ghosts... This game was nothing short of fantastic. A breath of fresh air into the COD community. I played Ghosts on PS3 and sure the graphics weren't as good as BO2 but they took a massive risk developing something so unique, and honestly, it worked, I don't care what anyone says. I still don't see why this game received so much hate upon its release and to this day in 2020. The campaign was like nothing we've ever seen, it wasn't repetitive like the Black Ops games (Make no mistake I absolutely loved BO1 and 2 campaigns and multiplayer) and although BO2 campaign is still a favourite and used to be my top, that changed after the release of Ghosts as it was just so unique and it held everything I could have ever wanted in a campaign for Call of Duty. It had great characters and an awesome character arc for each of those characters and with this game, we got one of the most recognisable and most beloved characters "Riley". Now if this isn't your favourite animal character or specifically favourite dog character ever then what the hell is wrong with you?!?! Once again, Infinity Ward took a risk by adding this kind of character into the game but it worked, and. worked very well. The thing that really hit me for this game though was how and where the campaign took place and for those who don't know it's Set ten years after a devastating mass event involving a nuclear attack from a satellite missile platform, the United States of America is no longer a superpower, with its economy and government in ashes. The remainder of the nation's Special Operations Forces, the Ghosts, fight a newly emerged technologically-superior global power, not for freedom, or liberty, but simply to survive. It has amazing firefights, stealth of which we have never seen before and space!! Now although the mission was quite small it was a never before seen aspect in any other Call of Duty game. It has a solid plot and characters you really form a connection with. ****SPOILERS******* The ending of the game shows the players what we think is the end of Rorke (The main antagonist and a former member of the Ghosts) but he emerges from the shoreline injuring Logan walker so he cannot retaliate. Now Rorke’s final line is interesting, it goes like this "You would have been a hell of a Ghost. But that’s not gonna happen. There ain't gonna be any Ghosts. We're gonna destroy them together." Now for those who played the campaign, this was truly heartbreaking, having to see Logan being dragged away by Rorke after this line of dialogue and his brother Hesh watching helplessly as Logan is taken away by Rorke. Now this showed us that a sequel had to be made and Ghosts fans will wait for as long as we need, to see what happens in COD Ghosts 2. People didn't have faith that infinity ward can deliver another great game after infinite warfare, but look what we got in 2019, a reboot of the modern warfare series and that game’s campaign and multiplayer and now the warzone are just amazing. Yes, I am posting this in 2020 but I just replayed the entire Ghosts campaign. I am stuck at home because of COVID-19 after all but there is no way I'd rather spend it than replaying what still is my favourite COD campaigns in history. Judge as you please but true fans will agree 🙏 Infinity Ward, PLEASE give us Ghosts 2 !!!

100% - 7.2 hrs Achievements - 40 Review - 7/10 - Honestly not a terrible game, it's got a decent story and you get to play across literally any terrain/area/vehicle possible. You've got space levels, underwater levels, tank, helicopter, troop, it actually has a lot of variety in game play. Rorke is a pretty shit villain and his whole reason for going bad is absolutely fuckin dumb. Hesh is an absolutely useless character and doesn't really add anything to the game, honestly pretty much all the characters are forgetful. Logan being a mute is incredibly stupid especially when others talk directly to you. Also the Cliff-hanger ending is dumb, doesn't really make any sense and since there wont be a sequel it just makes it worse. You get to play as a dog and kill bad guys so that's a plus. Difficulty - 3/10 Hardest Achievement - They Look Like Ants

Looks like the "Award winning writer" took the money and then took a big stinking dump on this game. Activision should get a refund, bc this might be the worst 'writing' hackjob in the series. The plot, the characters, the story-writing, the dialogues - all of it is absolute DOGWATER XD The first loading screen is an exposition dump explaining who the "Ghosts" are and where they came from. It's rather flat, shallow, and cliche story, somewhat inspired by 300. But it fails to reach its goal - which was, I guess, captivating the audience with the new mysterious, almost mythical group of soldiers. You want me to believe that 'Ghosts' are just simply awesome? SHOW ME IT. IN ACTION. That's what the game is for. You don't have to assure me, convince me or promise me that - just show me. Simple as that. Remember when Modern Warfare made all these exposition dumps with anthems of praise for Cpt. Price? Remember all these loading screens explaining how Soap is just great, and would literally take a bullet for his friends? You don't remember? Yeah, right - bc It never happened! Liking or disliking somebody in the game is NOT a matter of negotiation. You can't 'convince' the audience to love your characters, just by yapping a whole essay about how absolutely fantastic they are XD You have to show how they act, how they interact with each other, how they react to problems etc. - and then let people judge for themselves. But I guess, basic stuff like that was just out of reach for our 'award winning writer' XD And when you finally see interactions between them, it looks like cheap comedy of absurd. For example, in one cutscene, 2 brothers can't recognize their own father while talking to him face to face - just bc he put on a balaclava. WTF? They are looking him straight in the eyes and they hear his voice - but nothing seems to 'click' in these dumdum's heads. And then he takes of the mask - our dumdum brothers stare at him in disbelief, and the game tries hard to sell it as some serious and dramatic moment... But the whole thing comes off as stiff, artificial, and totally misses the point. So why this review is positive? Well - when you don't bother yourself with this poor excuse of a 'story' and look at the game just mission by mission - it gets much better :) Some missions are a seriously top-shelf FPS game design - great level layouts, well-thought scripting, nice looking panoramas around you, and some creative ideas for the gameplay - if you looking for the action packed COD experience, you will get it in spades :) The jungle mission is one of the game's highlights. You crash and land alone in the bush, with only your pistol and ... the motion detector - I know - how convenient, right XD The game let's you free roam in the jungle and take out the bad guys in silence. But it also doesn't auto-fail you if you go loud - and I really appreciate that. Because you CAN go loud, each silent kill you get feels earned. The level itself also looks very nice, I was hanging around for a lot longer than necessary just to figure out how they crafted this jungle. Later in that same level game switches the pace, and throws some guns-blazing combat at you, in the meantime the weather changes in real time - which looks really cool and serves as a nice cherry on top :) There's a mission where you fight in the city and it gets flooded in real time - it's a great scripted setpiece, changing the level dynamically as you run through it. Night mission where you crawl on the side of skyscraper - also pretty cool. You get in and out of the building few times, game gives you some combat and some stealth in very good looking locations. Closer to the end there is level in Vegas - ruined by war and sandstorms. It's another top-shelf, well crafted level - and again I was there just hanging around for much longer than needed, to check out how it was put together :) There is a tank mission, and its a total off the rails arcade, but imo it's better that way. If they tried to do some wanna-be realistic slog, it would completely break the pacing. And now it's a nice break from usual walking and shooting, competent at what it tries to achieve, doesn't frustrate and doesn't overstay its welcome :) Then the game also throws some zero-gravity in space combat at you, gives you a chance to use a satellite super weapon for a moment, gives you mission on the moving train... yeah, it's switching gears really fast in that last hour, and I thought it's very good thing and works in the game's favor :) Even the famous DOG wasn't as bad as I thought. There's only 2 short missions in the game where you have to control him, overall it's maybe 15 minutes of doggo gameplay, and people hated on it like the whole game was only >dog dog dog< and nothing else. Also the dog model itself is very high quality, and has absolutely awesome real time fur - honestly it might be one of the best dog models in history of gaming. And people hated that pupper like there's no tomorrow :( Overall I'm pretty positive about the whole single player experience. It's not on par with the best campaigns in the franchise, but still delivers an action packed high quality scripted shooter experience with high production values. And the amount of action setpieces, great looking locations and creative ideas would be enough for 3 separate hollywood movies.

The campaign is your classic 5-6h story mode. It's actually more engaging that what I remembered and you will have a good time if you enjoy the COD formula. Apart from that the game is a product of its time with very green and yellow textures, which caused enemies to blend into the (bad and way to big) maps in MP. So multiplayer is boring and there's no zombies, just a meh extraction mode. There's not much meat on the bone even on a massive sale

I decided to give Call of Duty: Ghosts a try, driven by my curiosity and long-time appreciation for the character "Ghost." Even though I knew this game wasn’t connected to his original story in any way, I still had high hopes, thinking maybe this chapter would somehow honor the character that made me want to buy it in the first place. Spoiler: It didn’t. The campaign offers a weak and unconvincing plot. The protagonists’ choices often make little sense, and there are several plot holes that completely break the immersion. Most of the missions feel forgettable and bland — the only exception is the space mission, which is actually quite enjoyable and stands out from the rest. Graphically, I have to give credit where it's due: the developers did a solid job making the game visually pleasant, especially in open areas. However, this came at the expense of lower-end PCs struggling to keep up, so unless you have a decent setup, don't expect a smooth visual experience. Speaking of performance, even though my framerate stayed consistently high, I still experienced occasional micro-lags and random stutters, clearly pointing to some poor optimization. In terms of difficulty, even on Veteran mode, it’s not a real challenge. Once you learn the map layouts, you basically cruise through the game. The enemies aren't exactly a threat, and the amount of freedom you get often undermines any sense of difficulty or tension. As for the platinum trophy, it's probably one of the easiest I've completed — just a few basic tasks here and there, and you can get it done in under 8 hours without breaking a sweat. Overall, Ghosts is one of the most forgettable chapters in the franchise. If you find it heavily discounted and want a casual, linear campaign to pass the time, it might be worth grabbing. But if you're expecting a memorable title or something that lives up to the Modern Warfare series — or even does justice to the "Ghost" name — this one will probably disappoint you.

I can appreciate what they were going for with the campaign: I'm a big sucker for apocalyptic settings, and I really like the plot of a nation trying to survive against an enemy that outnumbers them and the legend of a group of super-soldiers that could be their hope in this conflict. Too bad that this looses strength once you become part of said super-soldiers and the story turns into "discount Taskforce 141 save the world". And the story is also so full of cliches that make everything feel corny, it's really off putting. The one thing I liked about this TF141-wannabe plot is the character of Rorke; the theme of an abandoned ally brainwashed by the enemy into destroy you was something very cool. This campaign isn't all that bad and had something interesting, but it fell for the trap of becoming a worse version of Modern Warfare. No comments on the multiplayer. I maybe played it twice in a friend's house back in the day, and I don't know if there is any mod client to play online nowadays without getting fucked from every front. And whatever the fuck was Extinction.
