Dont be fooled by my playtime on Steam. I bought this game solely for the achievment synchronization. I have nearly 260h in BF1 and I regret nothing! To this day it is one of the best MP games ever made with an atmosphere no other Battlefield had. I love the great campaigns were you fought for hours on a huge map with your teammates and have intensives fights. Buy this game since the servers are still full and you wont regret it!

Was a great game to play until EA retroactively added their in house anti cheat and now it is broken for anyone using proton or linux with proton to play with friends. Server-side anti cheat would've been a good solution to that instead of rendering a game unplayable, although this is a known issue for anti cheat and proton/linux. Not recommended for proton/linux use at this time, other than what I was able to play I think it is a great game and did enjoy playing with friends when I was able to.

The last great Battlefield game, after this the franchise went to shit. I can fully recommend, just beware, this is WW1 setting, and thereby WW1 era weapons, so it might not be your taste. Sound, graphics, immersion, speed (not too fast) are all superb. Also note: You will encounter regularly cheaters, EA basically has stopped caring about BF1 unfortunately.

Spent over an hour first trying to make the EA app to install, then to connect to EA servers, then to party up with friends so that some of us could actually see the invite or don't get a "Failed to join session" error, never actually managed to get to the playing the game part. Don't buy this shit, EA doesn't maintain it and shits in my system installing the fucking origin or whatever it is called now, a piece of garbage launcher that no one fucking needs, that is a waste of both developer and player time. Don't get caught in the "oh this game is so cheap on sale" trap like i did.

This is easily my favorite battlefield this far. I have over 1300hrs on PS4 and I wanted to buy it for PC just to play it some more. The atmosphere of the multiplayer maps is unlike anything else out there and the sound design is phenomenal.

WARNING: Anti cheat software causes major performance issues. I wait several Minutes just for the game to start, then the game freezes up every 10 seconds. Also, forced EA launcher is garbage. Nope sorry, uninstalled, since it also clogs up 100 Gigabyte (!) on your harddrive. Why can´t a AAA big budget game get their shit together and make the game actually playable??? Luckily i only wasted 2 euros on this

Battlefield™ 1 delivers one of the most immersive and intense World War I experiences in gaming. The attention to detail in the environments, weapons, and vehicles creates an atmosphere that truly feels like stepping into history. The large-scale battles, dynamic destruction, and stunning visuals make every match feel cinematic and unpredictable. The multiplayer is where the game truly shines, with epic 64-player battles that capture the chaos of war. Each class plays a vital role, and teamwork is essential for victory. The campaign, though short, tells powerful and emotional stories from different perspectives, making it a memorable experience. Whether you're charging through trenches, piloting a biplane, or engaging in brutal close-quarters combat, Battlefield™ 1 delivers an unforgettable experience. It’s a must-play for FPS fans who love large-scale warfare and historical settings.

One of if not the best Battlefield game ever made *Great story telling, great story in few words *Perfect execution of WW1 setting, one of a kind *Fun and fast multiplayer *CPU intensive and not GPU intensive *So much content even for a 9 year old game at this point *Even more concurrent players than any Battlefield games, which means that the game is actually alive and well. *With sale it goes for 2 euros or dollars, which is cheap and surprising. *Visually spectacular The only bad side that I can think of is that sometimes there could be a hacker which can ruin the experience on Multiplayer but other than that, the game is a lot of fun and worth playing.

I was excited to play this (I love the WW1 era), but ended up refunding it. Graphics are beautiful, but this is ultimately a spawn then die simulator. Maybe when it first launched it was fun. But now you spawn, if you are lucky you survive for maybe 20 seconds, then die. Repeat over and over. It just wasn't fun. Other players would one shot me from across the map while I would unload a complete magazine on an enemy and they wouldn't die. A guy on a horse just circled me and then would one shot me. Also the menus are terrible. I just wanted to play multiplayer, but when I clicked quick join it would zoom out to a picture of the earth with smeared edges then do nothing. I'd hit escape and try again. Sometimes it would finally join or I would have to use the server browser. Really terrible for a AAA game. Glad I only paid $2 on sale. But I ended up refunding. It's not even worth $2 being this broken and not fun. I used to play Battlefield 1942, Battlefield 2 (desert combat mod), and Battlefield Vietnam and those were an absolute blast. This is not the battlefield I remember and it's really too bad.

Battlefield 1 might be, personally, the most emotional and melancolic game of the franchise. The atmosphere is unmatched, the graphics and the differents stories are really impactful. You remember the intrigues, you remember the characters, and above all you remember the beautiful maps, the dynamism that flow into them in each sessions. There is a real dedication and respect in this game. Sparkles of poestry are everywhere in each battlefield. The striking snow, the paranoïac fog, the depressive rain, the burning sand, the sun always judging you, not allowing any hide. The immersion as a soldier, as a team is uncanny. You will see the shadows of your ennemies in the horizon, appearing and disappearing. You know, that in a way or another you will confront them. And trust me, this game will make you doubt about your next action : Attacking, lurking in the dark, waiting for an opening, listening to all noises in a building, fearing doors.... Some maps inspire memories and fantasies about romantic paintings. It exist a real versatility of geography in those maps. The Sound design goes with your heartbeat. The adrenaline flows into your veins as the end of the battle approaches. Dirtiness, brightness and darkness invite you in a scorching virtual experience. In this game, there is more than fight, much more... It might be the most visceral and morose game of the franchise. And the soundrack..., is an absolute masterpiece. You will cry, you will be ecstatic, and sometimes you will just pause, to listen, to simply enjoy it. Beyond the guilt of the joy of the "gladiator arena syndrom" that games bring to me, it has inspired me, paradoxically, some peace, sadness, respect for the ones who felt, and inspirations in many artistics domains. And for that, with sincerity i really thank all the people who built and sold us this stunning experience. (Sorry my english is not great, but i try to improve)

Don't waste your $2 -- This game won't run. I've tried every suggestion you could think of (changing compatibility mode, adjusting registry, uninstalling other apps/services, reinstalling, running on a fresh instance of Win10, you name it, I've tried it). For about a week I tried to get this game to run and it simply won't. EA is trash, and subsequently, this game is trash.

Amazing game under every single aspect, but it’s recently become unplayable on Linux. I’ve already switched from Windows for most of my personal and career needs, however, I still have to use it because of some greedy company implementing a kernel-level anti-cheat ( ! ) that doesn't even work. Not cool at all. However, this is easily one of the best games in the entire series, if not the best.

You’d be better off spending your money buying alcohol for a homeless person than on this game. It doesn’t work, you can’t invite anyone to a party, and if you finally manage to, trying to join a server throws an error, leaving you with no option but to press Alt+F4

Really good game, immersive, fun and sometimes epic, the only problem is how casual the game is, so if you want a game with deep and high skill ceiling, maybe you shouldn't spend more than 100 hours in the game. I really like this game but this is the reason I'm uninstalling at 90 hours, If you're wondering if you should get the game or not, GET IT, the sales make it so cheap for how much fun time it can offer you. 9/10

A beautifully crafted FPS, as much as I like BF5, this definitely is the last actual Battlefield game to this day. Surprisingly, for a multiplayer-oriented game, the campaign is done quite nicely and features various interesting locations along with basic stories from the era. Visuals are amazing, the game is able to show completely opposite locations and still make it immersive, going from Italian mountains to Turkish sands and German-French trenches. Story is being played from multiple perspectives, such as tanker, pilot and a ground soldier. It might be the only Battlefield in which I can confidently advise to play the campaign, even if one isn't necessarily into the series. Campaign also offers a fair bit of challenges, some of which require different approaches to the same missions, which is cool and good for replay value. Luckily, contrary to BF4, missions can be chosen via select, no need to play the whole story again. Locations mentioned before could never be as good without the absolutely perfect music, various songs enhance the experience. The great thing is, those songs are still played in the background of the multiplayer/UI, so you can listen to them endlessly :) Gameplay is outstanding, although balance is a bit random compared to BF4, some guns definitely feel underpowered. All new gadgets and special vehicles add a lot of possible scenarios, which make multiplayer much more enjoyable and less repetitive. Maps are also beautiful and well crafted, especially city-based ones, but I do think they were made mostly for operations and lose a lot of momentum in regular conquest. It's a must-play for any FPS enjoyer.

There is a current bug with the EA app when trying to launch BF1. There's several people mentioning it will either freeze your PC and never launch, or it will run normally but will freeze when trying to close the game. Which ever happens first, you will need to force shutdown PC as a result, not good.

only bought because this had 20k players and bf4 had 2k players. Didnt like it at launch, but have given it more than a fair shot at this point. Inaccuracy under the guise of "the guns are all old and inaccurate because its ww1" never sat right with me. Gave it a second chance and still dont care for it.

I love the game, it's great on console I have like 1500hrs on console it was $1.99 on sale so I figured why not. Biggest problems is not the game it's EA, EA is a nightmare to deal with. I hate their app it rarely works right and trying to get my friend in game with me on here is annoying. So great game, would not recommend on PC since you have to deal with EA.

I remember playing this game, and aside from all the kills from invisible snipers and sniper MGs it was all fine... but then matchmaking died, joining to campaigns died, party system stopped working, and all that while EA again changes their "app" while still routing all the server interactions with it [i] while it still doesn't work! It has my vote for the best AAA game ever made. The first level sends a powerful message at just how young these men were. The graphics are still amazing even in 2025, the stories for the single player are great and worth the buy for the single player alone.

I started playing this game after Battlefield 2042 and was amazed at how good this game is. In this game, every map is worked out to the smallest detail, the cries of soldiers, planes, tanks. Coupled with the atmosphere, you get a great game about the First World War. You can run through the trenches with your friends and die together from the flamethrower. The only thing I didn't like was that 70 percent of the weapons are useless and weak.

I HAD OVER 300 HOURS IN THIS GAME ON XBOX WHEN IT CAME OUT. I figured it could be fun to play again. WRONG. There is not a SINGLE server in the US that has everything the game has to offer. Planes? turned off. Tanks? turned off. Snipers? off, Shotguns off. just about the only things NOT turned off in 99% of servers are the starter equipment. AND THATS IN THE OFFICIAL SERVERS EVEN. If you want to play in a server that doesnt have this issue, youll be playing in a server on the other side of the world with 300 ping. Absolutely massive disappoinment now. Glad i got it on sale cuz this was the biggest waste of 2 bucks ive ever spent in my life. No wonder it was 95% off, because its worthless now. Really sucks to see

If you're just looking to play this game solo, then I am sure it's great. If you're like me and were primarily looking to play with a group of friends, then it's atrocious. I can't believe this game is so positively reviewed. My friends and I have spent HOURS just trying to join the same party, and even when it FINALLY works there's no guarantee that the matchmaking connects everyone to the same game. The fact these issues have existed for YEARS in forums and have never been addressed by EA is insane to me. And yes, I have spent several hours with EA support to try everything to fix the issue, and nothing ever fixed the issue. Embarrassing. I truly cannot recommend this game even when it's on sale for $2. If you're playing solo and are okay with most populated servers being EU based, then you'll have fun. If you're hoping to party up with friends and play together in NA servers with minimal ping, you won't find it here.

One of the best, if not the best Battlefield game to date! With its only plausible rival being the previous installment of Battlefield 4 there are no other games of the Battlefield franchise that are up to par with this masterpiece! The graphics, visual effects, audio and the chaotical multiplayer gameplay really put the scale of how dedicated the developers were on immersing players into the large scale warfare of The First World War! Other than the great multiplayer, there is also a short, but interesting singleplayer, expressed through different "War Stories", which not only show the player basic mechanics of gameplay, but also paint a picture of how horrifying The First World War was. On the other hand, when it comes to downsides of this game, there are barely any. The biggest being the party system, which refuses to work most of the time, though its something you can definitely look through! All in all, I thoroughly recommend this game to everyone that is looking for immersive, yet fun and action-packed gameplay! Though, get it on a sale, as you can pay even less than $5/5€!

Very good-looking maps and models, but totally unplayable as a shooter game. There is no weapon balance—every gun is so unpleasant to use that even winning matches with a top K/D or score leaves you frustrated and disappointed. If this is your first Battlefield game, you might play it just fine, but otherwise, you'll find that the game offers nothing besides visuals. Map balance is nonexistent: you'll be pushing through beautiful yet empty fields under sniper fire (which is often a one-shot kill). Expect to be the only one using smokes and playing the objective. Spawn points frequently put you in a death loop, as there are no restrictions preventing the enemy team from surrounding your spawn locations. The C4/dynamite experience is the worst in the entire Battlefield series so far. no voice chat and no one will read your messages. in average 5 from 30 players from your side will play as a team (heal, support, play objective) plus 30k online is a lie, sometimes your get not full teams or waiting for match making

It's over... I've lost it all. A deep state network of hackers and neuroterrorists have deleted my award winning review and critique of Battlefield 1, a game I have over 400 hours logged in on Steam alone. Factoring in PlayStation 4 and Playstation 5 times: nearly 1200. I know not the name of this organization nor their goals but I have an inkling as to who specifically perpetrated this crime. It brings me no pleasure in saying. There's an ever growing pit in my stomach when I simply try to formulate the words, gnawing at the rest of me. I fear that the perpetrator of this incident is none other than a man I once considered a dear and beloved friend. I am speaking in nebulous terms instead of giving you, dear Reader, a real name, not for concerns about his safety were his identity to be revealed, far from it really. I want the masses to find him and rip him apart for the crime he's committed against me and all of gamerkind. No, the reason I don't reveal to you his name is because I can't say with full certainty that I myself know. This talentless hack, this proficient liar, a leviathan of deceit, and the nightmare that shall haunt my memory for decades to come, has almost certainly given me a false name. I fear that if I reveal that name to you it will alert his sources for within this network he is most certainly the leader. his spies are probably watching me now from the Starbucks that I am writing from. Know this about him: he is not a real Gamer who knows nothing of the stories about 400 year old dwarves. He knows nothing of the Playstation 5 and all of it's virtues. And he knows nothing of Baldur's Gate 3 being on sale, right now, on the Steam store. I am led to some questions. What motivates a man to rob another of his life's work? What brings him to violate me so? What crime, I say, what crime did I commit to offend?Ladies and gentlemen, I have the answer for you. Jealousy. It is jealousy that brings him to do all of these crimes, and more, and it is the more that I am concerned with here. After crossing this first line that destroys my livelihood and demolishes his credibility, the subsequent lines are easier to cross. I fear for my safety and will be on the move for the foreseeable future so no more gaming reviews from me. I am so sorry to all of my devoted fans and patrons. I ask, nay, I beg of you to continue your support on my Patreon. For only $5 a month you can get premium content that I cannot show on other platforms, reviews so spicy the brainwashed liberal mob on Steam can't handle. Alas, there will be no new content posted as my location is not yet secure. Additionally, all prior content will be deleted. These measures, of course, are to maximize my safety  while I am on the run. I am sure all of you will understand and am hoping for thoughts and prayers in addition to your patronage. Battlefield 1 will linger on in my mind while I am away. The gripping narrative of young Gregory Battlefield the First, the first not only of his name but to fa long line of the heroic and indomitable Battlefield family, drew me to tears on so many occasions. Seeing a young boy from rural Mississippi grow into a grizzled, hardened veteran over the course of this masterpiece brought me to tears and reminded me of the stories my Pappy would tell me. The sex scenes made me bust.  Overall, I give Battlefield 1 a 4/5 in the GamerPoints department. When I die, I will be thinking of this game, knowing surely it will be there for me in heaven.

I have fond memories of playing this game in 2016-2018 time period back on the Xbox, however DO NOT download this game on Steam. Me and my buddies were looking to play it and none of us can get the game to work properly at all. The anticheat/ EA f#ck3ry leads to either a failed start to launch the game or an unplayable choppy mess. Who knew the multiple time awarded worst company of the year would not be able to keep the best game from one of their biggest IPs playable.
