Call of Duty: World at War

One the best games I've ever played. I love the final stretch of the game. Every level with Reznov was amazing. Play this in Plutonium in single player for better FOV and other settings.

Aside from a few select games (Other CODs, Ultrakill, most Valve titles), I am not the biggest fan of FPS games. I find them a bit too stale for my taste. However, World at War has delivered one of most immersive cinematic experiences I have personally had in a FPS game, especially at the depiction of Stalingrad. To me, FPS games set in real historical conflicts are pretty damn peak.

Plutonium makes the game great, doesn't eat up an space which is nice

WaW is a Call of Duty Classic, by far one of my all-time favorite games specially the multiplayer, to which I was surprised to see that is still active even though the servers are down

Call of Duty World at War it's a really brutal and gritty game. And does a great job of showcasing what world war 2 was like. It has some historical inaccuracies here and there. But overall a solid WW2 game. I am disappointed that the world at war british campaign was cut out do the short development time this game had so the british campaign missions weren't finished.

"THEIR LAND, THEIR PEOPLE, THEIR BLOOD!" Definitively the best Call of Duty in my Opinion, not even from blind nostalgia, The sheer atmosphere this game has is unbeaten by any of the call of duty titles after. 10/10

world at war is what i call the black sheep of the series no other cod has tackled the WW2 setting to this brutal or any WW2 game that i can think of it's a good game still holds up in the shooting i'd honestly just recommend it for campaign and zombies since this is one of the few cods that can easily be modded with custom maps and other properties just don't expect an alive multiplayer overall 8.5/10 never buy on full price

This is the last true WWII FPS. After this, the WWII FPS scene truly died and may never be epic, fun or relevant again. Get this while you still can, soldier!

Campaign was great and it can be nice to go back to a simpler zombies.

Got game back in 2013 on ps3 due to friend accidently leaving it at home played through the campaign and decided that if i get the game on pc i would do the whole campaign again on veteran got it again on the 5th of June of 2025 installed it started on the late hours of the sixth and finished it on veteran on the late hours of the 7th died maybe 200+ times due to grenade and smg spam but it was worth it

Amazing, realistic and brutal campaign. Bought it only for that and I don't regret it. I don't remember the last time I was this immersed. Play on Veteran difficulty if you want to get a real PTSD of grenades (you will be showered with them). Also, weirdly enough, the graphics still hold up!

classic with a fun campaign, good zombies, and fun multiplayer if you can find a non modded server, can't complain

This game was childhood. Campaign had me thinking I was in an actual war. If you played this as a kid, reinstall it. Your inner child deserves it.

Amazing story for what it is, immersive gameplay, do wish there was some Western Front action, maybe on the side of the Free French Army or something, but the Pacific Theatre is often overlooked in WW2 gaming. Very good game, worth your money, multiplayer is still somewhat active.

Infinity Ward revolutionized Call of Duty by introducing Modern Warfare. Treyarch revolutionized Call of Duty by remastering it's original WW2 formula/roots and introducing zombies

The campaign is good, although very short. It's a classic COD campaign, both in a good way and in a bad way. Negatives are the grenade spam, useless teammates, and the necessity to basically be a one-man-army the whole time. But, the gameplay is very good and the story is a classic WWII-shooter story, if you like them you'll love this one.

10/10 this game so good I even got my pet goldfish who was gifted to me by my dear friend who sadly went to the forever lan party in the sky god bless your soul Bartholomew ill never forget your smile or that one time we did .... uhh never mind. But yeah I got that goldfish to play it and he said it was definately better than most games hes played (he cant really play many games as the internet connection is not great in his fish bowl). This game had me crying while I was chopping onions I love the scene where those guys get burned alive it was great story telling and character development. you should play this game if you havent already, feels wrong to call it a game its a life changing experience just like the bathrooms at disneyland.

I love this game, yes... its graphics are quite outdated, but nevertheless I would say it was one of the better CoD campaigns I've played.

Despite its evident age, as this was released way back in November 2008, I can't help but think that, of all WW2-related CoD games, it is the best one by far. The atmosphere is extremely dark, turning a shooter into a horror game, and the fact that you can simply mutilate the characters however you wish just makes the experience all the more sinister but terrific at the same time. Zombies, as a mode, even for the time, remains fantastic. The campaign is still the best part of the package, as it is purely amazing and showcases the tragedies that World War II had presented.

This game still kicks a$$. Multiplayer is still alive and well. I love the extremely potent perks like putting double tap on the BAR. Zombies has the classic feel, and scariest imo. Coop campaign is always fun, although it's pretty dead now :(. Custom maps are present, and today the catalog is enormous. WAW and Bo3 are the only ones with this feature, so it's worth buying just for this. Campaign itself is gritty, and a blast to play, even has stealth segments. Epic cast of actors. Also extremely difficult in the later parts. WOW. Closest we will ever get to a game that interprets war as a horror game. Graphics are decent, but this game deserves a remaster with some bots.

Have you ever been so desperate to survive that you had to knife your own ally in the back just for a handful of PPSh ammo? Have you ever heard the clanging sounds of five grenades landing at your feet in perfect unison, forcing you into certain death? Have you ever considered a shotgun or rifle to be completely useless because it just can't possibly fire fast enough to save your life? Have you ever considered burning human beings alive in mass to be an absolute necessity for survival, to the point that you're completely numb to the experience? Have you ever spent 20 minutes behind a rock because of invisible machine gun fire, throwing grenades in every possible direction to no effect? Have you ever cried tears of joy from the action of planting a flag? Have you ever had to ask yourself a hundred thousand times the question "what just killed me???" If you've answered yes to any of these questions, you've probably played World at War on veteran difficulty.

Please advise, ignore everything that a hater named RIFT left on this amazing/goated game! 10/10 no bugs! VERY GOOD GAME WITH SOMEONE WITH TASTE.

If you're looking for an amazing WWII experience, this is your game. Sure, there are a few questionable historical inaccuracies—but honestly, it's not worth nitpicking. It gets the job done, and unlike the newer WWII Call of Duty titles, it's not censored to oblivion. It's raw, direct, and hits the mark. I love the challenge it brings. Playing it again gave me a massive nostalgia hit from my PS3 days—especially those ridiculous moments when grenades were flying at me from every direction. X_X It runs smoothly and feels just like it did back then. The only real downside is the lack of controller support… but let's be honest, FPS games generally play better with a mouse and keyboard anyway. I give it 8 helmet tips out of 10 ration packs. 💣🥫

i loved the gzme becuaose of the zombiues the zombies was perfect it wass hard and scary at some points bit it was pretty good but the campangi was way to lojg

An all time classic. Works on steam deck but you will need to do some minor messing around (took me less than 5 minutes) to get the controller to work. Don't know about the security of multiplayer (on pc) , but campaign + zombies worked fine for me

Campaign is probably one of the best of the Call of Duty games and the multiplayer doesn't have Nicki Minaj running around and the zombies is nostalgic

[h1] modded zombies so good lol [/h1] 100% worth it and beyond for that alone if you like COD zombies, only ever 15-20$ and can run on most computers. ALSO IT COMES WITH ALL THE DLC FOR FREE!! WHICH! THE CONSOLE VERSIONS DONT!!! THEYRE PAID!!!!! (secret price being nobody ever plays online zombies on the default client, plutonium is better for that probably? never tried it since they dont fw SteamOS/Linux :/ )
