Lust for Darkness

Fans of Telenovellas and stories of the daytime TV variety can find something to amuse themselves here. This story is...well its something for sure. However lets start with the elephant in the room, the "sex", the mature themes, etc. that are the major theme of the story. It is pretty loose set dressing, and mostly an excuse to throw sex into the background of the story and give us HR Geiger monster themes. Otherwise this is your pretty standard walk and puzzle. You will most likely laugh at some of the overt sex...anything. The voice work is...there. If nothing else, i can NOT think of a game that will ever have a last line like this one.

[h1] A Marriage between Eroticism and Lovecraftian Cosmic Horror [/h1] Lust for Darkness is a first person horror game which draws a lot of inspiration from Amnesia the Dark Descent. In fact, it plays almost exactly the same: Insanity management (to a degree), dragging your mouse to open doors and drawers, picking up items and inspecting them for clues, etc. Where the game stands out though, is in its theme: Lovecraftian Eroticism. Now let's just get this out of the way: the game has some HEAVY adult themes of gore and sex, and is also quite explicit - and I promise I'm not trying to elevate a porn game here. A central theme of the game's plot is carnal pleasure, and that manifests in the characters enacting their desires and living out their fantasies - with a lovecraftian twist of course. I feel I cannot say a lot more without spoiling the plot, so I will leave it at that. My journey with Lust for Darkness, albeit quite a short one, was very pleasant. The dialogue is better than most games out there I would say, but it still has a few hiccups here and there. The way the game blended the grotesque and macabre with the unseen and incomprehensible was seamless. I honestly just wish that there was more of it to experience - thankfully there is a sequel and I am excited to play it! [h2] 7.5/10 [/h2]

Takes 2 hours to beat if going at a steady pace. *Shrug* I am curious about the sequels. The ending "twist" was obvious. I am interested in the lore and what not. Its ok? The art Direction was my favorite thing very H.R. Giger-ish. The acting was...ok? The gameplay was just inspecting the art and point and clicking through the environment. Puzzles were ok. The main antagonist was fing annoying, and silly.... the main character was pretty annoying too. If you're here to wank not the game for you (my god i hope not)

Interesting enough. Short story. Good amount of "darkness" and "lust." Takes about 2 hours 30 if you take the time to look at the environments, which are surprisingly well drawn out. There's some lore behind the story, but it is a little difficult to 100% this game without a walkthrough
