Experienced on the Meta Quest 3
You can view my 3D in VR gameplay: https://youtu.be/bp7Im8mqEcE Yes, you can play GRID Legends in 3D in VR using the Geo3D mod by Flugan (search for it). It's completely free and it will let you play DX9, DX10, DX12, OpenGL games in 3D, but it'll mostly work with DX12 games. It will render the game in SBS 3D and then you just need an app that will let you view the 3D content in VR, like Virtual Desktop (Steam version). It will be like playing the game with a big 3D screen in front of you. Playing this Steam version in 3D in VR is better than the Meta Quest stand-alone VR version, even though it's not full VR. The difference in visual fidelity is a night and day difference. It makes you wonder why the devs never considered adding official VR support for PCVR. 3D in VR Rating 9/10.
I bought this game!
Introduction
Grid Legends is a racing game developed by Codemasters and published by EA. You play as Driver 22, hired by the struggling Seneca Racing team to defeat Ravenwest Motorsport and win the GRID World Series championship.
Pros

Good graphics.
Story mode is fun. Nothing that'll blow your mind away, but it is fun.
Satisfying handling.
The AI is great. You can have some seriously intense battles.
Plenty of real-life tracks to race on, including Brands Hatch, Red Bull Ring and Indianapolis Motor Speedway, as well as street circuits in cities like Dubai, Paris and Chicago.
Plenty of vehicles to race in various different classes.
Cars sounds are pretty good.
Phenomenal soundtrack, unfortunately only available in the story mode.

Cons

Denuvo DRM because f*ck the costumers.
TAA isn't forced but it is the only anti-aliasing option in the game. However, you can enable SMAA by going to the config file in "C:\Users\Documents\My Games\GRID Legends\hardwaresettings" and searching for "antialiasing smaa="false"" and setting it to true.
Plenty of bugs, like:

Some time attack events are buggy. You finish the event in a different position even though you were first the whole time. To combat this, get a good time and then let all the AI finish before you.
You can finish in a place below where you actually finished. This usually happens when, for example, second place is right behind you. He actually gets first place and you don't, even if you have no penalties.
AI sometimes stops driving after using a flashback.

The AI wrecks the car way too often out of nowhere. It's not a they hit a wall kinda situation, it's a the game just decided to give you the position kinda situation.
The AI decides to collide with you if you're going much faster than it on a corner.
The collision physics are really bad. The AI can mess you up pretty easily but because they're much heavier, when you try to do the same thing to them, they don't even feel it.
Lackluster career mode that overstays its welcome.

Conclusion
Grid Legends is a good game with a fun story and a good handling model for those looking for a racing game that is more track focused than your regular arcade racer.

This game isn't bad, but it's not great either. Buy it whenever it's €10 or less. I have enjoyed many arcade racers over the years, including Ridge Racer 2 on the PSP and previous GRID games. This one, however, didn't quite satisfy me. To me, it feels half baked, and more like a v2.0 of GRID 2019 rather than a new game. Aside from that, it's lacking in vision; it doesn't know what it is or what it wants to be. The biggest issue here is that, just like every other GRID game, it will eventually be pulled from sale due to licenses expiring. Codemasters and EA are the worst offenders when it comes to killing games.
Let's start off with the pros:
+ Good graphics, and it runs very well on my system. + Lots of cars and types of cars + Many different game modes + Great weather effects + Sara Vickers
Now, the main issues I have with this game:
- The UI is very clunky. For example, you have to use F3, F4, F5 and F6 to browse through tabs. 'Escape' and 'Enter' are both used to go back. Whose idea was this?? - The game is BOOOORRING! There are multiple aspects to this: lack of reward, and lack of progression. Single player consists of generally three modes: story, career and custom race. The story mode is quite short, especially compared to, say, GRID 2 for example, or Ridge Racer 2, the latter being almost 20 years old now. Career mode is honestly a grind. There are too many races, and there's no sense of progression. It feels like a checkbox exercise, and having to pump over 30 hours into it is excessive. - Another issue is the difficulty. This game is way too easy. I'm playing this on hard, and I often lead in first place by 10, 15 or sometimes even 30 seconds. I was expecting it to get more and more difficult as I got closer to the Gaunlet series of races, but this never happened. Why is the first race just as easy as the last one? - Previous GRID games from over 10 years ago had modes (e.g. live routes, overtake, touge, 24h le mans) that are not present in this title. - Nobody is actually playing this and they're still asking €60 for it. The 24-hour peak according to steamdb is higher for GRID 2. Let that sink in. - I bought the standard version at first, holding off on the deluxe version because I wanted to see the game first. What a mistake that was. I now want to buy the DLC and my only two options are buying the game all over again in a sale, or buying the deluxe upgrade for €20 because it's never on sale. Classic EA. - It's an arcade racer but you can't really drift outside of drift events. - And, lastly, where is the music? There's only the menu song and that's it? Every arcade racer should have a killer soundtrack and this has NOTHING.
Now, some small issues:
- Announcer comments during races pop in and out every few seconds, and apply to all racers rather than the player. This makes them completely useless and seemingly random. The only reason I know what they're saying is because I have subtitles enabled. - Racecraft. What the hell is it even for? - There are 'fully upgraded' races that you have to unlock by driving a certain mileage with a specific car. I often had to make a custom race and drive in circles for over 10 minutes just to meet that requirement. This is stupid. - You cannot save livery presets. - Currency in this game is too hard to come by, especially considering how much you have to invest in those 'fully upgraded' races. - The car bobbing up and down while driving because of the strange camera behavior is uncanny at first and takes some getting used to. - The garage doesn't tell you what subclass a car belongs to. - Driver level resets to 0 after you reach 100. LOL. - Custom races are online sessions by default. - AI drivers' skill seems to increase by 200% when you make them your nemesis by bumping into them. - The AI drivers are glued to the track and bumping into them does very little, while a small bump from one of them will make your car spin out. Ridge Racer 2 from 2006 is a vastly superior arcade racing experience.

Played this on game pass initially, decided to purchase it here with the dlc during the summer sale. This game saddens me. Codemasters was just starting to be on the right track of creating another fantastic Grid game since Grid 1 and 2, this one got super close! The sad part though? EA bought them out and the Grid series is rumoured to be no more. This is a really underrated game, not only did it have a half decent story and allow you to make your own career, but the handling was vastly improved from Grid 2019, dynamic soundtracks were added, loads of really great cars you rarely see in any other games anymore and the sounds are also fantastic. If this game did well and Codemasters could make one more, I believe that would've been the Grid everyone wanted. This one was lacking in damage modelling, and possibly sense of direction. If this game gave you the opportunity to start your own racing team and watch your team and garage and funds grow, with the dynamically changing soundtrack of Grid 1, and the fantastic damage modelling and crash physics of Grid 2, it would be such a perfect continuation of the Grid series. If you're thinking about a simcade racer, this really is one of the best currently. Do buy with the current discount! And help bring back good fun simcade racers, not everything needs to be a true to life simulation.

I did not expect the story mode of this game to be so good! It uses live action cinematics, acted pretty well by a team of actors who seem to be having a lot of fun with their roles, and a very punchy soundtrack to contextualise the campaign races. Paired together, this makes for an experience that I actively stayed up late for to finish. Gameplay wise, some races and challenges are a bit overtuned, or maybe I'm just bad. That said I had a lovely time with the driving physics. I do wish there were more vehicles and there was an accomodation for drift-friendly vehicles that have the most absurd oversteer as GRID 2 did. I admit, it's not realistic, but by god it is fun! It's been half a year since I finished the campaign and DLC stories, and I still use the soundtrack on youtube to accompany me on work days. For that alone, I'd strongly recommend this game.

very fun arcade racing game and by arcade i mean really arcade you can go around corners you normally wouldn´t be able to in more sim oriented racing games. the selection of cars is great but the tracks not so much you are racing different variations of the same tracks. i personally bought it to get my racing fix without having to worry about realistic car handling and just want to go fast. turn off all the assists tho for atleast a little bit of a challenge and crank up the difficulty because the A.I is ruthless and its fun :) 7/10

It's pretty good as far as arcade racing goes. There are a few inane elements like artificial barriers to progression... for example, you need to drive a car 35 miles before you can unlock the next race in some cases. The teammate dynamic is worthless, and even annoying. I've trained mine to the max, and in every race, I'm regularly hearing how they've crashed, lost places, etc. This could be removed from the game, and so could the "nemesis" dynamic. I haven't found nemesises to be relevant... this is arcade, and it's okay to cut corners by careening off of other racers. One just became a nemesis? That's fine, they're behind you now. The story, at least what I watched, was worse than worthless. It's a high-res version of the FMV from the 1990s... it feels campy, and adds nothing to the game. After the first 1/3 or so, I just skipped those cut-scenes. But for straight-up, mind-numbing racing, this is a good game.

First some comparison: I hated GRID 2019, its handling was awful and the AI drove like blind bricks on rails. The UI was ugly and I always uninstalled the game after frustrating moments with the physics and AI, multiple times. I just couldn't bear to play it. Because of that, and because reviews often said the games are very similar, I hesitated to buy GRID Legends. However, I couldn't be happier with this one. I was really hungry for a decent arcade racing game and GRID Legends nails it. Yes, it shares lots of content with 2019, but that also means that there is tons of tracks and cars on offer here. I don't complain about that! The graphics are vibrant and pretty, fitting for an arcade game that does prioritize fun and action. Looking at review videos, I expected the story campaign to be cheesy and not my cup of tea, but it actually motivated me the entire time and was fun to complete. The AI is in my opinion much more dynamic and natural here, which is a huge relief. The handling is arcadey, but fun and gamepad feels great out of the box, which I can't say for GRID 2019. All in all, I agree with the folks who say that GRID Legends is criminally underrated and just had bad luck with its release window and visibility compared to its competitors. I'm happy to say: I can recommend this, especially in a sale!

Just an overall fun Arcade racer not to challenging for people who love racing games but nonetheless if you find this game on sale snag it. It's worth the buy!

i bought this game thinking it would be fun and still popular but instead its gone almost no public servers when i played and it was more of a story game than multiplayer yeah the story might be good but the little time i played the story i thought it was bland and had no real point unless your a fan of anyone in the story but i really thought this would be more i thought it would be a game that dose it all but if you have played any other race sim then you WILL hate how this game feels i...just though it would be better.

I've replayed this now on Steam and it's still a unique and wonderfully campy story! I look forward to replaying it again in the future! Absolute Cinema!

The game does not have leaderboards for drifting. Not even on the racenet app, only a time trial leaderboard.
