Just as you were claiming your first title, another hero of the Stolen Lands became a baron too: Maegar Varn, captain of the Varnling Host mercenary band and rightful ruler of Varnhold (this guy sure likes the sound of his name!). If you've played the main campaign, you already know what happened to him next... Or do you? In this DLC, you join Varn as his general, and experience Varnhold's valorous history firsthand — the whole of it, not just the outcome!

Honestly this is better that i expected. i love pathfinder, so any new lore added to the main game is very much welcome. The stories are interesting and intriguing enough to keep me entertaining and the only cons in this game are the default party members. Like seriously, i usually playing how the game presented it self without any changing but the default party combination in this dlc sucks (except that Erastil cleric guy with elk companion) and they even doesnt have a voice. But luckly you can added a FREE mercenary without any charge before you go on to adventure even thou you playing on challenging difficulty. I'm playing on challenging difficulty and if you know how to play with the right build its not that hard, but the thing is i still can understand why some people still complaining about the difficulty. you see at certain point some party member will left you without any warning. So lets just say that person you build have the highest Trickery skill, then he left, so i dont have anyone with high Trickery skill to unlocked some trap/chest in whole dungeon lol I'm very recomended this DLC if you love Kingmaker and the lore of pathfinder and knew how the system works. If you still new and unfamiliar how the games works, you will have some quite difficult problem even on normal mode. Nevertheless i enjoyed and having fun playing it, i think Maegar Varn and his mercenary company, the Varnling Host are interesting. It's a shame we didnt get much interaction with them in the main game.

I always like DLCs that show you events from different perspective, so from the lore perspective this one was more than welcome, I also like how it seemingly blends into the 'core campaign'. Expansion features one of the best location in the game - Lostlarn Keep, which is much more interesting than any other place I've visited so far (currently in chapter V core game). You can obtain few pretty strong items, that later will also appear in the main campaign. Played it on challenging to match my main campaign and I was bit surprised, the difficulty spike in the first big area and during the final boss is quite serious and some people might have problems here, especially if they decide to accept companions given by the game, as I did. Finally DLC doesn't seem unnecessarily long, I tend to check every corner and it took me probably about 10 hours to finish it. If someone enjoys the core game I don't see a reason not to get Varnhold's Lot.
