A 100% must play if you enjoy casual chill games like Journey, Inside, Flower, etc. Plus on 90% sale price its a steal. Its a short and sweet game with a nice soundtrack and fun gameplay mechanics.

What was once the sea. Now it's cyberpunk. There are no texts or spoken words in this game. You sail on your "ship" while listening to relaxing music in an artistic world with a monochrome and red theme. No enemies appear, but there are some light gimmicks along the way. What you see at the ending... It was a great game. I recommend it.

It's a nice, atmospheric, light management game. Do not expect any griping story, even the enviromental story telling isn't percticulary deep or interesting, but it was still a nice, fairly relaxing game. It's quite short too, so it does not overstay its wellcome.

Far: Lone Sails has a very specific aesthetic behind it. It’s casual and relaxing, yet there’s always a slight wonderment of what lurks in the wide open planes of the world you’re traveling through. In the game, you are a little nameless protagonist driving your land ship across a ruined post apocalyptic world. With each section of the game gorgeously realised with beautiful art and atmospheric sounds, Far: Lone Sails never failed to impress. The game is about two hours long and will mostly consist of you rolling from left to right on your land boat. While you travel, you have to keep your ship moving either by using fuel supplies you find on the ground or by catching wind in your sails. Occasionally you’ll find small puzzle sections to complete that will either give you an upgrade to your ship, such as better sails or a vacuum that automatically picks up fuel supplies, or it will simply let you keep moving. I never felt like these provided any real challenge. They feel like they exist simply to bring the art of Far: Lone Sails to life rather than to work as their own strong, or even successful, gameplay elements. However, even when I was just rolling across the landscape, making sure my ship wasn’t running out of fuel or going on fire, it was impossible to ignore all the beauty Far: Lone Sails has to offer. The art is absolutely stunning and is actually what drew me to the game in the first place. It’s a beautiful mixture of monochrome backgrounds with splashes of reds and oranges all painting a fantastic, rustic, ruined scene. Occasionally, when the wind caught my sails so I was moving along smoothly, when my boat wasn’t on fire and when I was just cruising along through some destroyed town, I could just jump out and stand on top of my boat. As the music swelled and the sky darkened, I just realised the absolute gorgeous beauty of the game. The design of Far: Lone Sails also holds some compelling lore and world building. Old ruined vessels, small photographs, and snippets of radio feedback all give subtle hints to the protagonist’s past and what happened to the world. This leaves the player to piece together their own understanding of the story in a way that very much reminded me of games such as Playdead’s Inside. However, I did feel these elements could have been delved into deeper, as it could have added some needed extra layers to the experience. All in all, while Far: Lone Sails is lacking in gameplay depth and could go a little deeper into it’s lore, It only took me a couple of hours to finish, which is pretty good in this case as otherwise I feel I could have easily become bored of the game and never finished it. However, the aesthetic is impeccable and creates a very unique playthrough that I enjoyed thoroughly. The art and music are absolutely beautiful, and I’d argue it’s worth playing simply for that. Verdict:9/10

This is a lovely little gentle puzzle game. None of the puzzles are very complex or taxing, but they are fun, and the the scenery is gorgeous, for a post apocalyptic wasteland. The music is lovely, and fits beautifully with each section, so never gets too repetitive. 10 out if 10, may even play it again to try and get the remaining achievements.

A"Jumper". Better be exact! Not worth the time. It looked better on paper, however it is like having to do a job that you just paid to do. Cool concept though.

An excellent artistic piece, but not really a game. It relies on environmental storytelling instead of having anything procedurally generated or having an overarching goal; the only reason to play is to see the plan the developers had set out for you. (The "other okomotive" was something I figured out shortly before it actually revealed itself, which also somewhat cheapened the reveal for me.) There is an achievement to finish the game in 99 minutes or less, and you can finish it in less than 3 hours without even trying, to put matters into perspective about just how short it actually is. If you were hoping for something like Oregon Trail or Death Road to Canada, you're in for disappointment. But if you temper all those expectations, you'll still find the experience eerily beautiful.

brilliant unique game, really loved playing this one & have bought the sequel far changing tides. i really appreciate the colours of the buttons so that they stand out & are easy to navigate, the colour & art in this game are beautiful. i difficulty was just right, i only had to look up a single incident because i wasn't sure if was doing it right & it was the one & only time the machine blew up & i think i died but i cant remember now. it is a relaxing game , just this one incident was a bit hectic. would love this game to have an endless mode, it really is one of the best games i have played in a long time.

I'm going to be a dissenter and not recommend this game. It's pretty, it's fluid, it's easy, it controls well, it's cute and it's fun, but it's far too short and I never really felt challenged by it. The game play loop is so basic it couldn't keep me interested for the short play time, and there's never any danger or really anything to do at all except constantly fuel the ship, then jump out every ten minutes to hit the next button. It needed more, maybe a little story or a few uniquely creative sections.

Nope... Not for me... No start, no ending, no motivation... It's too pretentious for my taste. Story needs more development, bigger machines, and so on. Great visuals and so on, but... no...

Play with Headphones, to really enjoy the sound design. It's a puzzle game with very evocative environmental storytelling. It's also short. You can finish this in about 2-3 hours.

I don’t even know what to say… the mystery in the story, and how this little guy controls such a huge machine just to find someone else in this dead world… the music is amazing, and the visuals are stunning. This game is a masterpiece. I feel bad for anyone who hasn’t discovered it yet.

It lets you to create its own story. Sure, some elements guide you but it is not that narrative. Devs did great job with its environmental story telling. And lastly, If you like chill games like; Gris, Inside, Ori, etc. You'll need to try this one for sure. It's short, atmospheric and includes great soundtrack. (9/10)

This is one of the most relaxing and fun little game I've watched and played. Good music, atmosphere, it is hard to say anything bad about it and why from it being designed in that way for that specific type of game. It has done it's job of being the few best and fun to play again from time to time. Story is very nice without words being said for it or how you just know.

Short but sweet game about just you and your vessel heading to the right. No dialog, just a calm soundtrack and the sounds of you and your vessel. There are a few puzzles in the game, but all are fairly simple and even if you're not puzzle inclined should be easy to figure out. Enjoyed my time with this game.

Music and visual style are quite lovely, although I think they are a bit over-praised. The game itself is a nice, chill short journey. I do recommend it, but due to it being extremely short (hardly over 2 hours) and not being MINDBLOWING in any way, I also recommend getting it while on sale.

This game is essentially Inside but on wheels. I love that there's no tutorial and you learn how to run your machine by pressing all the buttons. The buttons are physical as well, meaning there's no prompt, you just move your character and interact by pushing, standing on or jumping to trigger these buttons. Puzzles will gently make you discover new ways to interact with the different tools at your disposal. The game is regularly heavily discounted so you should pick it up with no regrets. There's even a demo to try it if you are really unsure. I bought my copy straight after running the demo - to check how it would run on the Steam Deck, which I'm happy to say runs it perfectly.
A Touching Journey Through A Beautifully Broken World
FAR: Lone Sails is a masterclass in atmospheric storytelling and minimalist design. It manages to convey a profound sense of journey, loneliness, and perseverance without a single line of dialogue. The act of keeping your landship moving is inherently satisfying, creating a bond between the player and the machine. It made me think that maybe I could even drive a train or sail a ship XD While the gameplay mechanics & controls are straightforward and the puzzles aren't brain-teasers, this simplicity allows the player to fully immerse themselves in the game. The sound design is just incredible! If you appreciate games that prioritize atmosphere, subtle narrative, and a unique sense of place over action or complex puzzles, FAR: Lone Sails is an absolute must-play. It's a quiet triumph that proves less can indeed be more if done right! The only thing I didn't like was this achievement called "It’s over 9000!" It took multiple playthroughs to get it, which became a bit boring. Score: 9/10 What do you call a land-ship that loves to tell stories? A narrative vessel! 😎

honestly have no idea how to describe this game, scenic to say the least, the okomotive is a bit of a hassle to manage, but i guess that's because it was built for a two man crew. the psychics are clunky sometimes, and the puzzles can be confusing rather than difficult, but the feeling when sails are up high and the engine's at full throttle is unmatched, not to mention the scenery on the flat open plains 7.5/10 you should however, buy the game when its on sale, 15$ is a bit costly for this 3-4 hour experience, best to get it when its below 5$

Very short game that tells the story of a person trying to traverse a post-apocalyptic wasteland with their unique vehicle. The game is very well thought out and features intuitive gameplay. It requires some resource management, while you try and keep your vehicle operational. The introduction and progression of new mechanics are well designed and show that the developers knew what they were doing. You can finish the game within the refund period (unless you're going for 100%), but why would you? It’s an excellent game that's worth the price. I would totally recommend this little gem!

What a surprising little game. Aesthetically absolutely gorgeous, the entire game looks like a steampunk oil painting come to life. I don't really know what I was expecting but I probably thought there'd be a little more gameplay than there actually was - it reminded me a lot of Limbo and that brand of side-scrolling adventure game. Really intuitive though, simple but no real tutorials needed or anything, everything clicked pretty easily. The lowkey worldbuilding and art was the main reason I enjoyed this - I would have finished it regardless cos it was less than 3 hours, but the music and visuals brought it to another level. I think the soundtrack will make it into my regular mellow rotation. Really keen to play the second one, now. What a great little experience.

It is probably the sweetest ~4 hour game one can play, I bought it at a big discount and I want to buy it without one now, it´s worth every cent and I´ll probably play it again in a year or so, until then, enjoy the calmness and bindingness of this adventure to your Okomotive to seek others, drive far conductors
