So...I was playing "Assassins Creed 2" and thought to myself: "Well, all the assassinations are kinda boring, but tomb parts with all the parkour and puzzles are the best!! I should play something where there is more of that!" And which games have all the tombs? Tomb Raider, of course!! (And "Prince of Persia", but I already played all of them) So, as I have already finished "anniversary" trilogy previously, I decided to give a go to the new trilogy. And well...it is a decent action-adventure game. Unfortunately, it is a lot like Uncharted now - that is too many combat and not so many puzzles and tombs. At least the combat is better (though it's hard to make combat worse than in Uncharted). The world consists of multiple semi-open locations (years before Naughty Dog did it), some of which have optional "tombs", which are not even tombs like in AC2 - here parkour is minimal and usually it is just a simple puzzle "figure out how to get to the next floor". Story is also nothing to write home about, but I was still engaged until the end. Additionally levels are quite beautiful and sometimes breathtaking. The final verdict: 3/5, will continue playing the trilogy.

This is the benchmark on how you do a proper reboot, an absolutely amazing project from start to finish. The multiplayer is a little funky though, you might want to avoid that haha.

a very good adventure game which feels like a playable action movie -pros- * it looks really pretty * fun combat/stealth * emotionally investing story * lara croft is very cool [strike]and hot[/strike] * (mostly) likable characters * there are silly pictures of the devs next to their names on the credits -cons- * a bit too much mashing * movement is a touch clunky (but not as clunky as you'd expect) * lara and sam aren't gay and in love :c -neutrals- * on the easier side

Not gonna lie, I didn’t expect much going in. Just figured it’d be some generic action game with a famous name slapped on it, but damn… This Tomb Raider hits different. Gameplay wise, it’s tight. Bow combat is satisfying as hell, stealth is smooth, and the whole crafting/upgrading system is simple but makes sense. You’re always getting stronger, but not in a forced RPG kind of way. Exploration? Yeah, it’s mostly linear, but with enough side stuff and tombs to make you wander off the path now and then. Tomb puzzles aren’t super hard, but they’re a nice breather between all the chaos. Visually? Still holds up surprisingly well. The atmosphere is on point, stormy beaches, creepy caves, burning villages, it all just works. Voice acting? Absolutely nailed it. Lara actually sounds like she’s been through hell, and it pulls you in. Would 100% recommend if you're into action-adventures games.

Thank you for this great game, even though it's old I feel like I'm playing a modern game! Great adventure. I'm grateful to you for adding an Arabic translation the game was close to my heart.

Tipical AAA game, what a dissapointmant. Now I understand why this game cost 2.5$ on sale. Story is simple and sometimes stupid. I cant imagine that I lost more then 5 hours on this...

This Tomb Raider reboot lands right in the middle—5 out of 10. It’s not terrible, but it’s far from great. Lara’s constantly falling off cliffs, ledges, and collapsing ruins every five minutes, only to shake it off like it’s nothing. It gets old fast and kills any sense of realism. The gameplay is fine, but there’s nothing groundbreaking here. Big changes from the original series make it clear this wasn’t made for long-time fans—it’s tailored for a newer, more casual audience. It’s okay for what it is, but it’s definitely not the Tomb Raider I grew up with.

This game is really fun ngl. I almost never get bored playing this game. Because it feels like every time I want to relax there is always a problem or enemy that must be fought. At first it feels difficult but after getting used to it, it starts to feel easy and really fun. I really need to continue to the 2nd series

There's a game breaking bug in the Geothermal Caverns where a box you're supposed to climb on phases through the wall if you're playing with Vsync off. This can supposedly be fixed by enabling Vsync and reloading the save, however my game autosaved after the box was moved. Edit: My game is now crashing on boot.

Reviewing (mostly) every game (or DLC) in my library, part 70: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☆☆ (8/10 stars) Lara Croft's gritty reboot takes everything you thought you knew about the franchise and reimagines it as a cinematic survival-action game—with a surprising amount of heart. Tomb Raider (2013) is brutal, stylish, and often thrilling, though it’s not without a few growing pains. It stumbles a bit under the weight of its gritty tone and formulaic writing, but the moment-to-moment gameplay, the cinematic presentation, and Lara herself are strong enough to carry it. It’s not quite the thinking adventurer’s game yet—but it lays a bloody, explosive foundation for the future. 🪓 Pros:

Lara’s origin story is compelling. She starts off inexperienced and scared, but you see her evolve into a survivor. It’s messy, bloody, and sometimes hard to watch—but that’s the point. She’s becoming the Tomb Raider.
Satisfying third-person combat. The bow is the standout—quiet, deadly, and stylish—but all weapons feel great. Headshots are crunchy, stealth kills are slick, and upgrades feel meaningful. Later firefights get intense.
Gorgeous environments. The island is a mix of lush jungles, storm-wrecked beaches, ancient ruins, and horrific cult strongholds. It constantly shifts, keeping you engaged visually and spatially.
Strong cinematic flair. Seamless transitions between cutscenes and gameplay, explosive setpieces (climbing a burning tower, parachuting through a forest), and a camera that knows when to get in close. It’s very Uncharted, but with more grime and gore.
Exploration feels good. While the main path is linear, there are tombs, secrets, relics, and documents tucked everywhere. The game rewards poking into corners, and the collectibles actually provide lore that’s worth reading.
Upgradable gear opens up the world. Return to old areas with new tools (like the rope arrow) to reach previously inaccessible spots—adds light Metroidvania flavor.
The optional tombs are fun puzzles. They’re brief but clever, and feel like a spiritual link to the older games. You’ll wish there were more of them.
Excellent sound design. Creaking caverns, distant screams, howling winds—it’s a loud game, but a beautifully designed one. The soundtrack swells at just the right moments, too.
Lara's voice actor. She brings Lara to life with vulnerability, anger, and resolve. It’s one of the best performances in the series.
🩸 Cons:

The tone is inconsistent. Lara is crying over her first kill one second, then gleefully headshotting dozens of dudes in the next. The emotional beats don’t always match the gameplay.
QTE overload. Lots of sudden button prompts, especially in early-game cutscenes. Miss one, and you’ll see Lara die in a very gruesome way. A bit much.
I like this game, but it has many bugs. For example, there are cut scenes where the characters glitch, and after dying, something weird happens to the bots, and there is this one time where the birds flying in the background disappearing and appearing like in the end of the game.

Amazing game. It started off feeling very restricted and basically on rails and I was wondering what I'd gotten myself into. After a little while you actually start to get some more abilities and the systems start to make more sense and the levels open up more. Fun puzzles, fun gameplay/combat, great story, graphics and voice acting. It started off feeling like I was playing a movie in a bad way, by the end it was like playing a movie in the best way. Looking forward to get stuck into the next tomb raider.

8/10 - A real adventure. Not a must play or anything but holds up weirdly well as a game from a simpler time that doesn't have the trappings it's sequels or modern games in general fall into. I played rise first and had a lot of fun with it, but didn't expect to like this one more. While the plot starts feeling pretty nonsensical if you think about it too long, the pacing is perfect, the moment to moment gameplay is fun, The set pieces are great, hunting for collectibles is satisfying, and it all runs perfectly on deck. Totally worth picking up on sale.

I wish there was a option in between recommended and not recommended, because if there was that's where I would have put this game. It's honestly not a bad game, but I don't think I'll play it again. I wasn't so much a fan of the quick time events, but they really are only abundantly present in the beginning of the game, and you get used to them pretty quickly. Honestly it felt kind of like playing a movie, where there were many cut scenes and cinematics in between short spurts of gameplay. It's also one of those games where anything bad that can possibly happen will happen. I don't think I could count on both hands how many times Lara has to run and jump through some structure that is currently falling apart around her. The characters were fine,
but I died a little inside when both Roth AND Alex died, because they were my favorites and they did NOT deserve that :'(.
The game isn't really challenging at all, so I would recommend playing it on hard mode the first time if you want something more immersive. I played this game coming off of Metal Gear Solid 5, so it was a nice break from the ridiculous difficulty of that. Probably a 7.5/10 for me, enjoyed it while it lasted but it wasn't good enough to replay. My advice to you is to buy it on sale like I did, definitely not worth the regular sale price.

this game is kinda the beginning of Lara's story followed by Rise of The Tomb Raider and Shadow of the Tomb Raider in that order (if you care like me lol). I enjoyed it, you play as Lara (obviously) she starts out with shit to nothing so it feels more stressful than the other two games where she comes somewhat prepared. I do recommend changing the controls when ever you get a new skill/action but that's just personal preference i'm going to recommend that for any action adventure game.

The only complaint I have with Tomb Raider designs is that some things are way too detailed. They need to realize that not every detail is necessary, and it may create difficulties for artists. For example, it will be much easier if you remove Lara Croft's clothes-

Never played the classic games of this franchise before and wanted to try this one as my first. Awesome decision. This game is insanely good and fun, and the story is very captivating. Something that surprises me too is how light and well optimized it is. I do not really have a good computer but it runs perfectly.

I played this before on my Xbox and am currently replaying it now. Overall, I love the story and gameplay. It's super fun to fight enemies in this game and even doing smaller tasks like hunting and exploring will always be fun for me. It's also visually stunning. HOWEVER. The camera shake added for cInEmAtIc EfFeCt makes me so motion sick I have to take frequent breaks. I hate how there's no way to turn it off in game. It's not much of a problem when I'm fighting enemies but oh my god exploring with the camera shake is a nightmare. I don't remember it being bad on the Xbox but maybe my younger self was better at ignoring it. tl;dr fun game would recommend but I really hate the camera shake.

Fantastic Game, Not super long and was fairly smooth gameplay wise. Some of the parkour sections could were a bit annoying because Lara would jump in a weird way and it would lead to a death, but the game was very forgiving and you would respawn not too far back.

**Tomb Raider (2013) – Short Review** Tomb Raider is an exceptional action-adventure game that brilliantly reboots the iconic series. The game strikes an impressive balance between challenging gameplay and rewarding exploration. The difficulty is finely tuned — not too punishing, but enough to keep you constantly engaged. Its semi-open world design encourages curiosity, with hidden tombs, secrets, and lore that make exploration genuinely satisfying. Lara Croft’s origin story is compelling, and her character development is handled with surprising depth. Visually stunning environments, fluid combat mechanics, and clever puzzles make this a near-perfect experience for fans of adventure games. A must-play.

I find this Tomb Raider to be a lot of fun to play. The open world exploration is amazing. Breath taking visuals. The weapons and upgrades are great, a big part being the visual additions. Compelling story line. I'd highly recommend this game to anyone that loves exploration and shooters. A game that is great in all aspects.

A Gripping Rebirth 8.6 / 10 This game shines with its exceptional narrative, captivating dialogue, and engaging pacing. The brilliant level design encourages rewarding exploration, and polished cutscenes elevate its cinematic feel. A standout feature is the voice-over for all in-game documents, adding a thoughtful layer of immersion. Unfortunately, the experience is marred by persistent crashes and bugs (disappearing corpses, stuck doors, inexplicable deaths) and an underwhelming conclusion. Clunky transitions between some cutscenes and gameplay also occasionally disrupt the flow.

tomb raider is and will be a special game i my heart in my opinion. i originaly bought left for dead and played it a bit, but didn't like how dark it was, and by that i mean it was LITERALY too dark for me to see anything, no matter how high my gamma was. so. i refunded it and went straight to the steam specials and locked my eyes with none other than 2013 tomb raider, for 2,24. i heard little about it, don't know a thing about the lore and just dind't seem to like to play a female protagonist, but i bought it anyway just to see it, and i regret so much of not buying it earlier. the character having actual feelings plus with not knowing what comes next because i haven't watch anything related to tomb raider really dug a hole in my cranium, stuffed the game inside and now i remember the feeling of being in the island of Yamatai. now, today, i decided to buy rise of the tomb raider, just cause i fucking want to and need to, simply...perfection. 10/10 higly recomend playing the game, oh, and you will maybe need to watch some tutorials on some puzzles, still peak tho.

The game is full of bugs but the game mechanics and story make up for it. I really enjoyed playing it and surprisingly it also has decent graphics considering how old it is. Finally, I was planning on getting all the achievements but i noticed that the multiplayer is completely dead so I gave up hope on that. PS. some achievements didn't unlock for me even though I did what was needed.

I have since I was 11 years old and always will be a fan of Lara Croft. I grew up with her and have awaited each game with excitement! I am currently re playing all the games on PC instead of Playstation and I must say... it does not disappoint. I know she is different in personality but even so, I am having such an amazing time! Truly one of the best games out there! The whole franchise! 100% recommended.
