the game is a masterpiece but this version has really weird color grading that alters the atmosphere of the game. this version is still worth it for the overall better graphics and higher level cap, and the colors can be fixed with reshade

After going through every quest, everything the game throw at me i wanted to share this: it took me almost the week to experience the game once more, and it makes me happy to say this game is just another good example of a studio creating a universe for you to take in, from the small details to the bigger picture, it felt so seamless taking your perspective and building you along with the story to sat out to create for you to experience however you want to, yes it may fall short in some aspect but again for a starter game with a new universe it did achieve what it was designed to which is make believe. recommended but remember the journey starts with you and Hope.

Could not get the game to launch, tried everything from the steam guides, co-pilot, and other searches, updated everything, GPU and CPU were already updated, updated windows 11, did the restart stuff and run as administrator stuff, did the deleting of some of the files thing, nothing is getting this game to launch. Out side of the refund window, its fine "Rules".

I played the other version, good game regardless of the graphics.

10/10 Game. I loved playing it at release. Playing it over. The reviews on Spacers choice are right, and very wrong. Yes its crazy they changed, but also, it isnt just a "lights" upgrade. The game looks completely better and is better. Don't believe the negative reviews, this version is better and looks 100% better.

This game is incredible. It gives me Firefly vibes with the music and dialogue. I absolutely love the leveling, skill, weapon/gear upgrade system. Perks? Dope. The combat/targeting could use some work, but it's still very enjoyable. There's an option for every play style, and the customization options are nearly endless. I personally enjoy being stealthy and sitting back and sniping my foes. That's just the gameplay. The story? Even better. You can literally play thru this game 10 different times and play a different story every time. It's a choose-your-own-adventure paradise. This game has more replayability than any game I've ever played. 10/10. I just hope the sequel is as good if not better.

Game is good. The two dlcs are pretty nice, all the years and patches later everything was super stable.

The base game was pretty fun, the dlcs were nothing to write home about but they are a decent time killer. Weapons and armor were pretty lackluster and left a lot to be desired, looting in the late game is pretty much a waste of time. Definitely worth picking up on sale.

this only cost me £5 and i got it due to the mods i want useing it. and having a modern powerful gaming rig i wanted to take advantage of the DLSS, and i also wanted the level cap increase. it took much fiddling and modding to fix this hot mess to make it work, and even then, im not convinced it looks any better. if you dont mind a google-a-thon to get the darn thing working and all the little extras you want, and mod compatibility, then by all means get the upgrade otherwise if you just want a good game. get the old version with the dlc, better lighting, better performance, better stability and works out of the box. very good game, really bad upgrade

Honestly, though I keep playing it, it's kinda boring. The world feels dead. I find myself basically running from marker to marker in a series of chores, and mostly skipping the dialog. The game doesn't have much character or heart and I give zero craps about any of the characters. It somehow feels like a much older game. It's like Skyrim meets Fallout vibes if neither were any good. I can only really recommend buying it on special if you've got nothing else to play.

I wanted to write something long, but I will not. This is a mediocre game, that doesent know what to do with itself. Too many people put their hands in it, and many of them were far from capable of doing games (see DEI, of wich now we can talk about). It is also too much console-y. Too much bloat in everything for nothing of purpose. The color palette is awful, but I will not go on. What irks me is that you can see the bones of the game, and you can see it would have been a good game. I wanted to refund it, but then I said fuck it and I finished it. I still dont know if it was a good choiche. It could have been a good 2d crpg if made many years ago.

If Anti-Capitalist speculative fiction + fun Gunplay + wholesome (non-romantic) relationship building in a space RPG sounds good, you can't do better. Super fun.

So Spacer's Choice edition apparently doesn't run very well? I have this exact game, without Spacer's Choice on Xbox and it runs great! I have a decent enough PC but it seems that even on the lowest settings, it doesn't look or run very good. Honestly, I agree with some of the other reviews, even for sale just get the original game.

This is a weird cross between Fallout, Borderlands, and Bio Shock in it's aesthetic, but placed in space. And by "weird" I don't mean strange and unlikable, I mean in a way that works way better than it has any right to. The expansions are decently long, and when all is said and done, it took me about ~30 hours to beat the game, and another 10-15 hours to get all of the achievements. Well worth it when it's on sale.

Only took me 15 hours due to my fast play style but it was a amazing experience! The RPG mechanics are true to the genre and the choices feel heavy and important!

I'm on 3 hours in the game at the time of writing this message, but wow! I love the unique graphics style, most of all, humor. It is fun to play so far.

Great Game. The characters, writing, and voice acting are tier. Would recommend to anyone, especially so if you love New Vegas!

pretty good. def not the best rpg ive ever played, but i had a fun time. game isn't balanced very well on normal difficulty but thats okay as i usually just want to rip through gameplay sections to get to dialogue in these types of games anyways. dlc was okay. ended up actually liking gorgon's narrative resolution more, even though the murder mystery gameplay of eridanos was a little more novel. excited for the sequel!

a game i didnt like initially because of its dated combat has absolutely grown on me. very charming game with an interesting world and characters and plenty of fun dialogue options to be selected. may have been held back by a low budget but in the end is a very solid and enjoyable game. The DLCs were pretty good too. highly recommended to fans of the genre.

It's a slow game to get started with. The story can seem lackluster. I promise it opens up a lot and the story by the end is actually really good and thought out. SAM is the best companion by far.

Reviewing after completing the two DLCs and main story. Overall id sday this is an okay game. Nothing stood out to be as fantastic or amazing but i enjoyed most of my time with it. The main story felt a little cut short and the ending being narrated over with stills felt a little cheap, would have been nice to see it acted out or made through a short cinematic or something. The way the companion system worked was great, i loved being able to easily swap out between my crew members and their stories were fun to run through, although i didnt do all of them. The humour is what i enjoyed most about this game, walking in on ADA and SAM multiple times was hilarious and one particular robot telling me to follow it then it proceeded to fall down a cliff was funny as hell. Overall i enjoyed my experience with it but the very fetch quest nature of most of the game felt too jerky for me. I would have liked more places to explore with the benefits of exploration like in the Fallout games or Skyrim etc, i found myself annoyed by having to go back and forth a lot of the time so ended up using fast travel a lot which takes out the fun for me.

Its not an improvement on the original game but the extra levels are handy.

the only bad thing about this game is that they had to make monarch exist if i could i would chop off a hand to have monarch blown to nothingness i would with out a second thought other then that its a amazing game (this review is mainly about supernova difficulty monarch is a hellhole on supernova)

Fun game! And that says a lot because it actually takes an interesting game for me to finish. It is like a space-fallout, not quite as deep as a Fallout would be, but good nonetheless. I will now wait for the second game to be less than $40 to even think about playing it!

It runs and looks great. I played through the main game on console. I really liked Murder on Eridanos. Peril on Gorgon had some shocking implications to the overall Outer Worlds universe, but wasn't as fun to play through. As others have said, the level cap being raised to 99 doesn't really do much. I started to really feel overpowered level ~35. Which is not a complaint, only to say don't buy this game thinking you'll be a 99 god when you'll likely be a ~35 god. I'm very excited to see how they expand on the great ideas in Outer Worlds 2!

Very fun before I got my PC i had an Xbox i played this and it was super fun I then got it on the PC and still super fun

Witty dialogue options, exciting gameplay, lots to loot have to check every nook and cranny. lol

Solid RPG. Has everything you can remember from Fallout NV mechanic wise. Even with the DLC, it feels very lacking on the world(s). I spent 90 hrs and felt like I saw everything I could see or do. Needed the modding community to keep it living until OW2 comes out. We need to see a game back in Halcyon in the *Lore* accurate aftermath of what our character did, With all the updated mechanics OW2 will have. Thanks Obsidian <3

This is a wonderful game, very enjoyable despite the fact that my desktop can't run it. I tried, put it on potato settings, attempted to get it working, but the stuttering and lagging was terrible. Not the game's fault though! My system needs serious work and repairs done on it. Probably an old part needs replacing or two. But yeah! Can't wait to play the sequel! Once it goes on sale of course... NO GAME is worth 79.99 after all.

Played this game when it came out on the xbox and loved it. Wanted to replay it on my steam account for achievements and just because i wanted to relive the experince of playing it. Espically messing with the guy with a moon face mask. funny as hell.

Review after 100% After completing The Outer Worlds, I can walk away satisfied. The game has some really good mechanics in it and is one of the best Action RPG's within the last half decade in my opinion. The story is good, the is a consequence for every choice you make. The writing is fantastic with some humor thrown in (make your intelligence below average when you create character, Trust) Gameplay is typical first person shooter. all in all, Im excited for the sequel. 8/10

Okay, soy I'm enjoying the game, but it randomly crashes ALL THE TIME... like come on??? My PC specs: Ryzen 9 7000x RTX 4090 32 GB RAM 2 TB NVME I've searched a bunch of forums and used different LLM's to help me narrow internet searches on solutions. Turning off a General Lightning Feature Optimizing Engine.ini and Input.Ini (both optimizations and original versions, I still get the crashes) Lowering specs... NOTHING works, i still get does damn crashes. Its very frustrating and annoying to constantly loose progress on game because it decides to close. Also, there are no logs to even try to pin point what's happening... i've searched on %appdata% and game files, and nothing... idk if it is Unreal Engine, but man... every game that's made in that engine constant gets crashes. Either current devs aren't skilled or the engine sucks. I'm starting to care less and less about how "beautiful" it looks, if the game doesn't work, fuck it...

Okay game so far! Reminds me very much of Fallout with how you have a character you develop and have RPG relationships with different NPC's and encampments. It does feel a lot easier, maybe that's because there is no radiation. The game is very pretty and I hope that exploration freedom will be satisfying. The game does feel kind of 2 dimensional to me and I am not sure why. There just doesn't seem to be depth to the game. Similar graphics to say borderlands 3, but borderlands 3 has depth to it... When I turn my character in the outer worlds I feel like its flat, but its an overall well rounded game so far, the story is enjoyable. A lot of different possible game play styles to choose from.

Spacer's Choice Edition leaves a bad taste in your mouth. Even with Reshade the colors feel like they just don't belong. I went into it without expectations, and left wanting to install the original.

This game and the characters in it, Are boring. Sorry the game is just boring AF. Obsidian did more for FNV in 18 months than they did for this shit In 4 fucking years... 4 years for this boring mid game...

I bought this game on accident because I confused it with Outer Wilds. This is one of those Fallout-feeling slop titles with tons of repetitive content and bars to fill up to give the illusion of fun. Animations are stiff, gunplay is unengaging, enemies are blind, stupid, bullet sponges with the same voice and repetitive, canned dialog. You have to run around looking at the ground spamming the pickup key instead of being able to run over health and ammo. There might be a story in there somewhere, but I'm too fucking tired of these samey-feeling games to slog through all that crap to find it.

Just finished my third play through, still very fun, just a bit too short!

game's mid. not bad, just underwhelming. last game i ever got or will ever be hyped for. this can't be from the people who made new vegas. (pay 60+ dollars for my mid game so i can educate you on why capitalism is evil)

Tries to turn my 3090 to slag everytime I turn it on. Plays like trash & makes me motion sick.

Couldn't find differences with the original game - but enjoyed this edition as much! :)
