SteamWorld Heist

this is my second time playing the game, the first time was on my 3DS. the game is just as incredibly fun as I remember it being, and it remains one of my favorite games in its genre to this day. Also music by steam powered giraffe is FANTASTIC.

Game's dangerous. I bought this because Dig 1 and 2 were dirt cheap and having a 2d XCOM sounded interesting. Then I played this first. Like 2 months later, I've bought the rest of the games in this franchise except Build. Heist 2 makes this game look bare by comparison but it is still GREAT. This is a sweet, streamlined experience (no fatigue mechanic and the overworld just has you moving from mission to mission) with adjustable difficulty. If they make Heist 3, they should put the submarine concept from 2 and apply it to a space setting to make the most out of it. In conclusion, a great game. PS the music...is also great.

Simple but engaging. The overall style and music add to the appeal. I especially like playing this game while waiting around in an airport or something. Easy to pick up and super chill.

A fairly straight forward tactical game that has some neat quirks, like the fact we can ricochet shots, but they use that to justify some pretty unfair enemies which can be compounded by the randomly generated maps. There is a fair amount of weapons, accessories and characters that allow you to have a decent amount of variety. The story is linear, short, and unexciting so there is not much replayability, aside from a newgame+ option. Overall the game is mid and it's price reflects that so I would recommend it, just wait for a sale.

Great turn based shooting game with simple mechanics that add meaningful content to the missions but don't ruin the fun. Theres different strategies you can use and ways to optimize your strategy without just taking more time too shoot. The bots behave in a similar manner to you and don't cheat (unless there bosses in which case its "fair cheating") but still have enough ways to surprise you and throw you off your game plan. Not particularly hard but not also mind numbingly easy. Good game. (I didn't replay it and I wouldn't really expect you too either!)

It’s not a bad game overall, but the alarm going off right at the start of the map really takes the fun out of it.

Really cool game with awesome OST! Gameplay never wears off, very recommended, it has 5 difficulties for all experiences you seek, but Experienced is my recomendation. (Also Cpt Piper is steamhot!)

The best franchise. The game is great but feels a little archaic but still a great game

2d Xcom. Charming and fun, with a decent challenge curve. Family friendly game. The boys love it. I love it.

Amazing game. The random level generator helped me get through a few missions I was stuck on.

If you played the Worms-like games on Flash websites as a kid and like steampunk, buy this game. Piper's crew is one of my favorite rag-tag teams in video games and getting them through each level on their adventure from smugglers to heroes is such a good time. The mechanics feel smooth, and there's a wide variety of weapons and utility items to find and experiment with. Have a space fairing adventure with our fearless heroes! Plus you can shoot peoples' hats off and take them for your own, and TF2 proved how much people love hats.
