I really enjoyed Steamworld Dig 1 and 2 so I wanted to try every game from this dev. But after a few hrs the gameplay boggled down to: step into the same looking area, hide behind the same looking trash bin, shoot gun. I just need more than that even if it's a tactical game.

this is my second time playing the game, the first time was on my 3DS. the game is just as incredibly fun as I remember it being, and it remains one of my favorite games in its genre to this day. Also music by steam powered giraffe is FANTASTIC.

Feels like a hybrid of side-scroller XCOM with a fun aim/bullet-bounce physics mechanic, it's actually pretty hard, too. You gotta one-shot missions, or lose and get punished (on higher difficulties) and your fallen mates get no XP. So be warned if you love the comfort of reloading and min-maxing, this is a make the best out of it game and I love it! Will probably buy the Part 2 on sale before I even finish the 1st one :D

Decided to try this out after playing SteamWorld Dig and enjoying this world of Steam Bots. I was pleasantly surprised by this Tactical RPG-esque shooter. It is satisfying being able to pull off a ricochet kill, snipe from afar without laser sight, or just blast through cover with a rocket launcher. The gameplay invites you to replay missions to get perfect Stars to unlock more stuff and upgrade your crew. I was highly amused to find various "hats" paying homage to random pop culture and for a while took it upon myself to hunt down a rare hat any time I ran into one I wanted.
