Cursed to Golf

This was a roguelike I have never experienced before, with a take on the genre I have never seen. Even after playing through the whole game I will happily come back and play tournaments again in the future, even just to find and experience new card/pin combinations.

this is one of the more unique roguelikes ivve seen for sure! the aesthetic for this one is very strong. my main complaint is that outside of the main campaign, there isnt much to do like most other rougelikes, n outside of that, its pretty tough to lose the full campaign with just the "comeback power" in tow. this game has a very strange difficulty spike of "wow it is tough as shit to get past the first boss" to "this is kinda a cake walk actually why is this the last couple levels" (although this is also where good badge/card usage comes in). i wish there was more to do here, but regardless, i had fun!

Not sure where all the negative reviews are coming from, Cursed to Golf is a delight! Fun mechanics, delightful art style and I giggled out loud at least twice to the narrative (in a golf game!)

As it is, it's just okay. Some very cool and cute ideas in there, lots of love for old school gaming, for NES/SNES era, especially the art and the music. But the gameplay, while neat on paper, ends up just being approximate and repetitive in practice. You would think a zanny golf game can bring a very fun, exciting gameplay, but here it is not the case. Also, I found the rogue lite features of choosing power ups not well implemented and very bland, and last but not least - especially for me who loves this feature more than many others - I think the level design is just not good, mediocre at best. It feels procedurally generated, which is always a minus for me, not a positive, and it is just not exciting or inspired. I don't care about the progression in the levels, and that is probably the worst you can do in a game like that. So overall? I guess I give this game a 58%. It's not bad, it's okay, not really good - and you know what? I think some people will definitely like it for its charming points. Me? I wanted more - needed much more from it. not rlly that fun too much over explanation, and too much shit to remember, games get boring quick when they just put u in tutorials with so much yapping and information, like dude I get it I just want to play.

You can't even control the game menu with keyboard. You can't customize keybindings. The whole thing has very pre-beta stage vibes. Maybe good game but details like custom controls kills it.

I'm sure 99% of people don't read the reviews. So I don't think whoever wins or whoever loses, or whoever wins or loses, is going to win or lose. Everyone is going to lose.

I can't even see where my shot will go, should I risk a shot to get a shortcut? Who knows, I can't even tell of the shot is possible. Just allow me to zoom out so I can see where the ball will land, this is ridiculous.

Simple and fun game that has a retro Sonic feel.
