Cursed to Golf

Recommended BUT to get on sale. At the original price point it is quite of a high price. The game itself can be fun if you have the right expectations for it. It is a nice combination of genres and can be fun to pick up for a run from time to time. The game itself is challenging and took me 3 rounds to get the hang of it to start progressing properly.

This was a roguelike I have never experienced before, with a take on the genre I have never seen. Even after playing through the whole game I will happily come back and play tournaments again in the future, even just to find and experience new card/pin combinations.

I give this game a rank C- (55-60%) Average game - only if you have nothing else to do. See my profile for more details about my reviews. Too bad, I really thought this game would be better. As it is, it's just okay. Some very cool and cute ideas in there, lots of love for old school gaming, for NES/SNES era, especially the art and the music. But the gameplay, while neat on paper, ends up just being approximate and repetitive in practice. You would think a zanny golf game can bring a very fun, exciting gameplay, but here it is not the case. Also, I found the rogue lite features of choosing power ups not well implemented and very bland, and last but not least - especially for me who loves this feature more than many others - I think the level design is just not good, mediocre at best. It feels procedurally generated, which is always a minus for me, not a positive, and it is just not exciting or inspired. I don't care about the progression in the levels, and that is probably the worst you can do in a game like that. So overall? I guess I give this game a 58%. It's not bad, it's okay, not really good - and you know what? I think some people will definitely like it for its charming points. Me? I wanted more - needed much more from it. Really fun and an amazing game ! I played on controller and the game is very easy to use. At first it seems impossible you are like << yeah there is ace card but that's not enough to finish the entire game.>> And you learn to use it correctly, soon you will probably encounter your second or third boss. and think again it's impossible how am i suppose to do that!!! but there is some twist YOU CAN! Over all this game has a bad evaluation because he is difficult and people dont play enough time to realise all the tiny secret and feature of the gameplay. But it is possible to finish the game and it can be frustrating but that's worth it ! there is no reward without risk. 9/10

I can't even see where my shot will go, should I risk a shot to get a shortcut? Who knows, I can't even tell of the shot is possible. Just allow me to zoom out so I can see where the ball will land, this is ridiculous.
