With the surprise bonus addition of several in-universe and in-character albums (produced with purely straight faces, of course), this is the beefiest and most worthwhile video game soundtrack I've yet to find on Steam.

if you're wondering, the soundtrack is full quality 320kbps MP3 files, not like the heavily compressed OGG files that come with the game, and it also comes with some bonus albums by Chowder Man, Klyfta and Zared.

This is the first OST I've ever bought with my own money. I'm not the type of person to actually throw money directly at a game's music instead of just looking it up on YouTube. That should speak wonders about how absolutely masterful this game's soundtrack is.

The music quality is fantastic; there's even some little easter eggs in the song info like the Celestial Reflection album being released in "1999"

As a big fan of video game soundtracks, this is by far and without a doubt, one of my all-time favorites. The sound landscape that is crafted so carefully in this game is truly an experience I will forever wish I could have for the first time all over again. Lots of passion and talent went into the artisty that is this soundtrack.

The soundtrack to Hypnospace Outlaw is truly one of the most interesting and complex soundtracks to any game I've ever played. Several characters in the game have their stories told exclusively through the music they produce, making sitting down and listening to the music as you find it and actually absorbing it to connect the dots extremely rewarding. The in-game alternate history also opened the developers up to designing their own history of music, and much like how real-life genres blend and give birth to knew sounds, there is a clear DNA travelling through all the wild and weird "micro-genres" featured in Outlaw as the "history" of it's world progressed. There are, of course, many silly songs and (very) few that are downright unpleasant to listen to, however there are many, many true bops on this album that makes listening to it casually even outside of the game very worth it. I recommend this OST far more highly than any OST available on Steam.

Comes with bonus tracks that weren't seen in the game. If you liked the game's music, and wanted to see more of it, then this is definitely for you. Whether all of the tracks are to your liking, there are still 5 hours worth of original music in here, and that alone is worth the price ask. Volume 3 also includes the new songs added in the biggest update of the game, which is sizable compared to even just the rest of the soundtrack on its own. The sound files are high quality too, they definitely did the best they could with this one.

The music to this game was actually one of if not the biggest draw for me trying it out. It is absolutely excellent and stands on it's own even with it's sometimes unapologetic zaniness. You have your usual compositions for atmosphere but also features are full-out rock songs (Hot Dad makes some amazing contributions,) module-tracker-esque throwback vibes (Basically Hypnospace's version of MIDIs,) and even some strange purely atmospheric songs that still retain a almost melancholic nostalgic ring. Those of us who remember the state of the internet back in the 90s will often find a undeniable charming quality to some of this stuff, which is captured to a T. Within are several 'fake bands' by various actual artists and they not only fit their context beautifully but are genuinely good songs even if often hamfisted. Highly recommended, even on it's own, if you're looking for a good chunk of music to throw on for whatever purpose. Try shuffling it all and letting your imagination conjure up all kinds of strange 'ye olde internet' aesthetics. Or just listen to Chowder Man's 'Ready To Shave' on repeat, no shame.

I love the late 90s/early 2000s feel of this music. It evokes nostalgia for an era of my childhood that I fondly look back on. They really went the extra mile to make music authentic to the era, and the quality is just splendid. That being said, I was disappointed to find that not only are the Seepage songs not on either of these volumes, but there's an entire third volume that I didn't even know existed until I went searching for the missing songs! You can find this third volume on Bandcamp, but why is it not included here on Steam? Some of the best songs are on Volume 3. I'd gladly pay more to have the complete collection all here on Steam, instead of having to run over to Bandcamp for a third of the music :/ Anyway, that's just a gripe against whoever publishes the music--the music itself is phenomenal. Perfect to have in the background while surfing the web, drawing, working, etc. Love it! UPDATE: They added the third volume! I'm absolutely THRILLED! Thank you so much :D Edit: Still no Christmas Pain in Christmas Town? Aww :(

Some pretty funky and cool sounds. I also enjoy how the soundtrack has multiple albums for all the creators in the game.

the music is frankly one of the best parts of the game. it really fleshes out the world that hypnospace outlaw presents you with and adds a lot of character and charms. from the commercial jingles of the chowder man to that one song that was the squisherz theme converted into basically the hypnospace outlaw version of MIDI (if im not mistaken). my one and only criticism is how some tracks are missing from the steam music player? dunno what thats all about but it bugs me a little bit

Much like the game itself, the soundtrack for Hypnospace Outlaw is amazing, absolutely oozing with passion and love. With nearly 4 hours of content, all varying in genre and feel, the $10 price tag is certainly justified. This game will always remain incredibly special to me for a variety of reasons, some very personal, and I cannot praise everyone involved in this game enough for their amazing work all around.

it's good, good, but where's [strike]Barnaby's Chair - Satellite Anthem?[/strike] Oh now it's added with Vol 3. Now this is a must-buy.

Loved the game and all of its music! Couldn't resist grabbing the soundtrack as well. I've never bought any OST before and usually just stream them, but this one was well worth it.

The soundtrack comes with both MP3 (320kbps) and FLAC (Vol Releases only) format and have almost everything the normal game has. Volume 3 contains three bonus wallpapers (1080p). Unfortunately, at the time of writing this review, Chowder Man and Klyfta isn't available in FLAC yet and "Nightmares in Hypnospace" is still missing from the album. Size comparasion (Jul 3 2022): - MP3: 611.9 MiB - FLAC: 1.6 GiB

A delightful soundtrack for an amazing game. Available in both mp3 AND Flac (for Vol 1 2 and 3 anyway, Chowder man and Klyfta are only mp3) The only issue I have with it, is that there are some tracks missing that are available in the bandcamp version of the OST, these tracks are: Vol3 Track 59 Buttery Crust Enigma (X_NEO_ICY_X) Track 60 PizzAbyss (X_NEO_ICY_X) Track 61 Pi Pi Pi Pi Pi Pii Tsa (X_NEO_ICY_X) Chowder Man Christmas Pain in Christmas Town (the actual album that the song is from is literally only a dollar though, so if you REALLY want this song you can get the album here https://hotdad.bandcamp.com/album/the-chowder-man) It's such a shame, because the OST is otherwise complete, it even includes the Chowder man songs by Hot dad as well as the Zared album and Klyfta - Selections Another bonus is that the OST here is considerably a lot cheaper than the 3 individual OSTs available on the bandcamp. $5.99 for Vol1 https://jtholen.bandcamp.com/album/hypnospace-outlaw-ost-vol-1 $4.99 for Vol2 https://jtholen.bandcamp.com/album/hypnospace-outlaw-ost-vol-2 $15 for Vol3 https://jtholen.bandcamp.com/album/hypnospace-outlaw-ost-vol-3 (you could buy the 3 missing songs for a dollar each, but it still feels partly incomplete)
