The visuals are awful, low effort and blurry. Apparently the creator of this game does not quite know the rules to this game himself, since the AI placed a lance in the opponent's last row multiple times. Apart from that the AI is a joke and I beat the league within 20mins, which should not be the case since I'm not even that good of a shogi player. Please fix this, for I rly want a Shogi game on steam, thanks.

It's cool that this exists, but it really falls short of what it could be. It's more of a tl;dr of shogi than a proper introduction to it, and the overall design of the game makes 81dojo look modern.

It's a very nice idea but the introduction is not interactive enough. The pace was okay at the beginning, but at later parts where the game introduce tesuji it's hard to grasp the idea without being able to actually move some pieces. And the castle thing after that was completely lost to me.

This would be a great tool, if it actually worked. Unfortunately, it will just freak out sometimes and not allow you to make a perfectly legal move, ESPECIALLY if you want to move backwards. Pieces will seemingly "transform" into others (ended up moving one of my pawns multiple files sideways, as if it were a rook). One time the computer's king moved straight into check, and I couldn't even move the piece that was checking it... I appreciate you trying to bring an easy and accessible Shogi game to PC, but these issues are beyond inexcusable. How is anyone meant to learn the game when it can't even emulate the rules properly?

I would like to see Shogi problems that the player actually attempts to solve. Tsume Shogi (mating problems) and problems on tesuji would be very welcome. As is the program is easy to use but it would be nice if there were more features to allow players to improve and if the ideas behind things like castles were explained so that new players can understand them. If all that is desired is a computer opponent this program is fine but it will not satisfy the needs of more serious players of the game. The developer is continuing to improve this product and has added mating problems to the program already. I can recommend this program for a starting player.

I absolutely love this shogi game. It teaches you how to play and explains all the rules. Definitely worth the $5.99 for education on this ancient Japanese chess game. My only suggestion is to allow options for westernized pieces so I don't have to reference other images to remind me which is which.

As the title says, this is a program/game where you can learn shogi (Japanese chess). Rather informative.
