I've waited 12 Years to play this... I cant believe this is the first game by this dev... I think it is an excellent effort!! I played story mode first, and REALLY enjoyed it! was a fun story with some really cool set pieces. The choreography of the game through the story and the boss designs take the cake here, the music choices are perfect and fit with the game really well. The stage designs are really smooth too, and something you dont see too often in indies any more which tend to go straight to bullet hell. The game is also very fair too, I was able to 1CC Story mode my first try, and then Arcade mode thereafter but I didnt score enough to trigger the Arcade TLB :O. This makes the game excellent for shmup beginners as it is engaging and exciting without being overly difficult, and even though there is dialogue, the pacing seems fun too. Modes and controls are simple and perfect - just go buy this, support indie shmups!!!

A fun little jaunt through a bit of a cerebral SciFi experience. I wasn't able to 1CC this on the first try, but I was able to beat the game and experience the story, environments, and characters. Nice little touches and attention to detail made for a fun experience that doesn't overstay its welcome. I did a Let's Play here with commentary for anyone that wants to see more: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=biwAWko_flI

Honestly this was a blast, the storytelling and characters portrayed throughout the game are full of emotion and weave an interesting narrative. The gameplay is fast, fun and straight to the point with a nice variety of different enemies and unique boss fights. For anyone who loves a classic shoot em up this is a great experience and a super easy recommendation! Fight on Champions!!!

a story that's kind of a nothingburger, trying to allude to things and be interesting but without an initial hook to draw someone in. a difficulty that's overall very low and has bizarrely placed peaks and valleys and tons of dead air. no deep scoring system to optimize and no unique mechanics. i liked it. won't play it ever again, but i liked it.

Certainly worth the price, even if you only intend to play it through a single time (takes about an hour). The pixel graphics and simple, colourful style are a treat to look at. The variety on display is impressive both in terms of level design and visuals. Moment-to-moment gameplay feels very satisfying, although it will be a bit easy to veterans of the genre. I don't feel like there's much replay value, and the gameplay systems and structure are extremely bare-bones. However, I blame that more on the limitations of the engine than on any design flaws. Again, for the price, it's a well-crafted and enjoyable experience.

An unusually cinematic narrative-heavy shmup. The gameplay is pretty basic, the art style is uncommon but nothing fancy, and the control really doesn't feel good, but it's an unusual take on shmup with interesting story-presentation and good use of epic (free) orchestral music that for some reason isn't commonly used in shmup. It's recommended simply on the novelty experience.

This is a terrific, well-polished and even SHMUP that's great for newcomers to the genre such as myself and I think veterans will also find some aspects to appreciate as well. It avoids some of the more aggravating functions you get with more classic SHMUPs and allows you plenty of lives, continues and a mission selection screen, so even all your lives, you don't have to start the entire game over again. Between a first-time developer pouring their heart into their creation and I, an avid player trying to get their toes wet in a new genre, I think we both came away with an amazing experience. I really do like this game a lot and am already eager to replay it some more.

Pretty easy game. You get about 10 lives and each has 4 hp, unless you run into a rock or enemy then it 1 shots you. I beat it with 8 lives left, and I'm just an intermediate player. I didn't try arcade mode yet. There was a lot of down time. Not sure if arcade mode removes those pieces. There were some moons - I missed two of them an not sure what they do. The game is good for 1-2 play throughs.

As a fan of vertical shooters and also a user of SHMUP Creator I applaud this... Minimal and limited in upgrades but the Boss Design is great!! Well worth supporting a fellow creator

This was a blast to play. The story definitely keep you immersed in the action, and the well choreographed fights are fun to go through. Although one might think one type of weapon wouldn't be enough, the main story makes up for it and then some, well written shmup action adventure that makes you want to keep playing until the story plays through. Fun to play, and if you are a beginner shmup enthusiast you will love it, the difficulty is just right, without being to easy or over complicated, give it a shot! or two ;)

Story mode is nicely integrated without being too invasive and makes the whole game very fluid. Musics suit very well the action too! Highly recommended !

The cinematic scope of R-Type (and then some!) without the crushing R-Type difficulty. The story mode is where this game really shines and there are some extremely memorable moments in this game (which I won't spoil!) and great bosses throughout. Don't get me wrong, this game has just the right amount of challenge and is right up there towards the top of my list of games I would recommend to beginners hungry to reach the holy grail of shoot 'em ups that is the one credit clear. If you're more of a bullet hell veteran, this cinematic game is a fun and engaging change of pace. If you're not a shoot 'em up veteran, this is a great place to begin that journey.
