I have never hated a game so well, it is beatifully annoying and hits me in all the correct nerves to piss me off. I had a blast raging at this game that I hate to love. You will enjoy all the time you spend playing this, till you eventually spike a controller through a wall. 98/100 The_DragonKingGamer "I hate my life now, but at least the journey to depression was fun." Seriously though I do love this game, and I recommend it to all player, pro and casual. You'll have a blast and it's great with friends. Developers are responsive and content is unique and enjoyable. The maps detail and sillyness make it a game I can play everyday. Thanks for this gem, have a good one! ^^

I would absolutely recommend this game to those who enjoy fast paced fun with friends all bunled up in cute pixel art with anthro wolves. My friend linked me to the game just yesterday and after watching him play some of it, I decided I too really wanted the game. It is ideal to play with friends, and the single player is like an arcade style game where the only objcetive is to beat your own high score. That mode does become very repetitive after a while, though. However, with friends this game is so much fun. I can't stop laughing when I play, because it's just fun to be running around in the enclosed arenas and accidentally being hit by or hitting friends with the fireballs. The only cons regarding the game would have to be the lack of playability for single player and the inability to play it on my Linux device. I have Ubuntu and I can't play it on that. I anxiously await for a Linux port, I desperately hope it happens. Super addictive and fun, full of laughs, at least for me! Please port to Linux!!!

Game is fun for a little bit of local multiplayer, but it asks too much. Play 1000 multiplayer games for an achievement?? And especially because you have to wait in the lobby for 45 seconds for it to obviously connect to no one, and you have to get 5 wins for the game to be over, it's just too much and is going to take forever.

i played this at PAX south and was also a bug tester in the beta, and it's held up as a good little party game both times! you can pretty much just jump right in and play with whoever you want, and there's no real "gap" between first-time players and folks that have been playing for a while.

Hello Craftven! I really like your game, and my stepbrother enjoys playing Lupinball with me. I hope you will make updates for this awesome game! I got some ideas: Characters: - a Wolf with an orange skater helmet, he is carrying a skateboard, fireballs color is orange. - a brown Wolf with an white T-Shirt, hes an werewolf, fireballs color is brown Items: - a item that removes ALL fireballs on the map - a item that switches the character you play, so you control the wolf from another player Maps: - Jungle - heaven - moon, the wolfes wear astronaut helmets I hope you like these ideas :)

Now after putting more than 115 hours into this game, I shall update my review. I'm also one of the best players in the game, so I shall also base my review upon that aswell. This game on itself is really well executed, it takes party/couch games to a more competitive play. Although this is also enjoyed on your own, playing with other people is also amazing. so I'm happy there is a discord for this game, so you can talk with other players who have the game. Pros: - Controlls are smooth, and easy to learn - The community around Lupinball is great - Game setup is easy and you're able to join in a game really fast - The developers are active, if you have a bug you can message them - It's quite easy to become somewhat good at this game, Even though I'm nearly the best player I get wiped every so often - the game is nearly bug free Cons: - Peer to Peer can sometimes mess up the gameplay, but most of the time the servers run good To summerise this, this game is well worth the €10, it gets a sollid 10/10 from me. even if you are considering to buy this game Do it! Take part in the community that are the Lupin-ballers, the game's controlls and gameplay are smooth and easy. So as I said I put more than 115 hours in the game, because this is the first game ever that I really wanted to become good at. And look at me now, professional Lupinball player. and like I also said I still get my butt kicked sometimes. Now let me end this with a message to the developers Micheal Ventnor and Christopher Stritch: "Thank you, for making a game that allowed me to talk with a community and play a game I love, when I first saw this game I wanted to play it, even before release, and still when I'm outside or at school I want to return home to play this game. So from the bottom of my heart, Thank you for making this game <3"

Bought this game a while back while it was on sale. Played it with a few friends, and the chaos was flawless. The soundtrack was great. It's just all around an amazing party game. Side note. I'm colorblind, and refuse to use the colorblind mode. It's like playing the game on hard mode. You never know if your walking into your own fireball or someone else's. This game is definitely worth a buy.

First thing first. I DON'T recommend this game, if you have nobody to play with. Since the online scene is dead, so you'll not be able play the VS part of the game. Leaving with only a score attack mode that will get stale, since it's against yourself to see how high you can climb the leader board. The Best way I can think of how to describe Lupinball, is that it's a couch competitive VS bullet hell game, which is easy to learn and hard to master. As everyone knows to doge the fireballs, but not everyone knows if they should or when to pick up an item. VS is for 2-4 player if done online instead of locally the rules are as followed; first to 5 wins, items on and friendly fire off. if played locally theses rules can be configured to your liking. The core gameplay mechanics are; shielding, shooting and orb collecting. Shooting is the offensive move of game and unless you're going to wait for a certain item to drop or friendly fire is on it's only way to win. But you can't spam it as it needs to be powered by collect at lest three orbs, And takes a second to charge up, were you can't move. So being trigger happen can lead to your downfall. Shielding is your defensive move, reflecting any incoming fireballs back. It can used with any amount of orbs collected, but the more the better as it determines how long the shield lasts. but it's also a non-lethal offensive move where it can stun others or break other shields. Orb collecting is how you power your shoots and shields , and is what forces you get in the way of fireballs as they spawn randomly on the map to be picked up and you can only hold up to three at a time. so you'll be using them quickly to get your fireballs fired and to prevent others from collecting them. Matches in Lupinball have no time limit, but generally go by quickly. As at some point someone screws up, the pattern made by the players can't be dodged and they can't use a shield at the time, or the increasing speed of the fireballs becomes too much. Each map plays differently, some are more gimmicky then others. but there is enough to ensure that the maps themselves aren't getting too repetitive. Now for somethings I would like to point out. All the wolves are the same, just different colours. So whom you pick doesn't matter, unless you have issues noticing the difference in colour , but there is a colourblind mode if you have troubles. This can be played with just a keyboard, but I recommend a controller for finer control of your wolf's movement and aiming. And this game uses Peer-to-Peer connections for online communication. TL;DR a quick, complex, Bullet hell vs game. which is a lot of chaotic fun, with just enough quantity to prevent it from getting stale too quick.

This is one of the best party games I’ve played - not since Mario Kart on the N64 have i had so many “not competitive” friends exclaim as their character slowly drifts lifeless off the screen, or a moving floor tile takes them splat in to the path of an oncoming fireball. The music is catchy, and I find myself humming it, or thinking other people are humming it in the office - not yet, but soon I hope! Was supposed to play this for a few mins before JackBox Party, but this turned in to the whole evening. Thanks to the time stop mechanic when a player dies, its as fun to watch as it is to play. Well worth it, and recommended!!

Lupinball is a 4 player arena game that plays more like a bullet hell then anything else. The art is a well crafted pixel based styled, with 15 unique levels, an awesome soundtrack, leaderboards and some extra silly quotes about wolves to boot! With a low base pricepoint, there isn't anything this game missed its mark on.

A great couch multiplayer dodgeball-like game that's fun for adults and accessible to kids, with very mild cartoon violence (no blood, eliminated players look like they fainted). Excellent party game for all ages. Playing also helps kids understand angles and trajectory. For younger kids, some minor practice with controls will help at the start.

DISCLAIMER: I was a beta tester for the game prior to release, and am a "Valued Tester" in the Discord server. I was provided with a beta key during that period, but I purchased the game post-release and have been given no incentive or consideration to write this review. TL;DR: The game is fun. Buy it. When I describe Lupinball to people, I say "It's sorta like Duck Game, but with wolves and fireballs instead of ducks and weapons." It gives you a bit of an idea what to expect. Lupinball is a primarily 2-4 player game (with a single player mode) where each player controls a different bipedal wolf. These wolves collect energy icons that pop up on the field. Up to 3 can be held at once. When one is picked up, the wolf can deploy a shield for a short time, with the shield lasting longer with more spheres. With three, the wolf can deploy a magic fireball. The object of the game is to survive by dodging opposing fireballs while launching yours to hit your opponents. There are also items that pop up from time to time to twist gameplay a bit, like orb blockers (prevent opponents from using shields/fireballs) and one that flips the stage upside-down but leaves controls intact. This is where the Duck Game comparison comes in. One hit, and you're dead. Once all but one wolf are dead, the stage shifts to the next and the match continues until one player wins enough rounds to win the game. There's a bit less humor in the death scenes compared to Duck Game, but the overall game is very light-hearted, with hilarious loading screen messages relating "fun facts" about wolves, and the characters are very charming. (Bart is best sheep.) Plus, ALL THE WOLF PUNS. Unlike Duck Game, there are no platforms or jumping. Levels aren't completely random either; each player selects a stage, and the selected stages are played in a random order. When they are complete, players then select additonal stages, and the game continues until a winner is decided. I like this freedom of choice, but I would love to see an "uninterrupted random mode" implemented as an option in the future. The game handles really well. Movement is smooth (except on stages with elements like wind and ice where impeded movement is the point) and you can even adjust the trajectory of the fireballs for a split second after initiating launch. Each map is unique, and offers its own obstacles, be it slowed down movement (Gailes, Wolphone, Pawcific Ocean) or changing elements like shifting walls and temporary darkness (Wolffer, Moon Estate), to name only a few examples. Gameplay itself is extremely simple; with only movement, shield and fireball launch as your only controls, your mastery of the game will rely on experience more than learning any complicated combos or controls. You can customize the match options (points to win, friendly fireballs, item appearance, among others) to create the match setting that suits you and your friends best. There are even accessibility options, such as a reduced flash mode and a color-blind mode. And of course, there is online play. Single player mode flips the rules a bit. You're alone on a map, and you're firing constant fireballs to fill the stage up. You have 30 seconds (extended with each fireball you launch) to keep firing. One hit from one of your own fireballs, and you're out. Once time is up or you die, you are taken to the next stage, repeated until you've played all of the maps in a row. Your score is the amount of fireballs you launched in every stage, totaled up, and there is a global leaderboard for the best score. It's pretty fun, though I would like to see an AI single player mode implemented where you do battle against 1-3 computer opponents. Dev support is top-notch. The Discord server is active and the community, while young, is already very friendly. Devs hang out there and are dedicated to improving this game and making it a fun experience. All in all, for 10 bucks (I paid 9 with launch discount), it's a pretty solid game. I think it could earn its place among the many other popular couch multiplayers.

Kinda furry in terms of characters (if you care about that kind of stuff) but however its super to play. Sadly, the community is not very active, so its harder to join and play the online multiplayer.

A good laugh to be had with friends. Single player could be expanded on more just a little, as in a couple of different modes, or perhaps the ability to add in custom maps in the future. Yet to play the Multiplayer side, but from what I've seen it looks to be a fun and entertaining game for those moments when all you need are some laughs.

This is an incredibly fun bullet-hell game to play with your friends. You can have up to 4 people in a room, and damn does it get hectic. The levels each have unique occurences, and the mechanics are just so much fun. Totally worth the 9.99 I paid for it

So far, I am absolutely loving this game. I'm really looking forward to seeing if they'll add anything to the mechanics and if they'll add anymore arenas. However, even if they didn't I would still recommend this game. The only con I can say about it is that the single player mode gets a bit boring, so if you don't have a strong enough internet connection to play online multiplayer, or if you can't do local multiplayer, then it might get a little repetitive for you. Even still, this game is an easy 9/10.

I've played Lupinball a couple of times at conventions and even when it wasn't in its final form, it was still a blast to play. This is some of the most fun I've ever had playing in local multiplayer, and with complete strangers no less. Fast paced, simple, fun, werewolves and now online multiplayer... Absolutely worth the purchase!

Simple perfection... easy to get into, and incredibly difficult to leave. Well, until you realize just how late it's gotten!! :) It *will* happen. Getting into online multiplayer matches couldn't be much simpler, but don't underestimate the importance of the single player mode for getting your footwork and, perhaps more importantly, stage-handling skills improved!

I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing. Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side. With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay. After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like. Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends. Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together. Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that. Thank you.
