Just finished the game. Overall, I do recommend it for anyone who likes escape room/adventure point and click puzzle games, but I also think the first one (The curse of Ophir) had more interesting "think outside of the box" puzzles.

Trial of the Griffin is an average point-and-click puzzler. It tells a familiar story - you receive a mysterious letter calling you to parts unknown. You arrive, unravel a mystery, and battle with evil. The story is told through narration and takes place within a few rooms of a castle. There are back-to-back puzzles which are diverse. You have a 'magic eye' and a Ouija Board to assist you on your quest. In my opinion, the previous EXIT game (The Curse of Orphir) was much more enjoyable. It had a more interesting story, diverse locations, and time travel. It, too, had a lot of puzzles but they were more integrated into the story. For much of Trial of the Griffin, I felt like I was slogging through one puzzle after another with not much in between. I recommend this to those who enjoy short games with a focus on not-too-difficult puzzles. Clues abound in the form of notes and journal pages. There is also a hint system in case you get stuck. The game auto-saves, on exi. to a single slot. Most achievements are story related and there are only a few that can be missed.

What little plot there is is a bit more engaging than in the last one, but this even shorter and even easier. There would have to be some promise of a further game in the series being more substantial for me to want to purchase it.

It is just an OK escape room game. Many of the puzzles are so out of the box they are difficult to solve without using hints.

Highly recommended for fans of the physical Exit games, I think being familiar with the developers' logic is helpful but the hint system is really good at getting you on track with the more obtuse puzzles.

Really fun puzzles that challenge you without being crazy obtuse. Everything you need to solve the puzzles is there and it never feels like you're stuck because of bad game design

After playing "The Curse of Ophir" I can say that this game looks and feels even better! I like the theme, the style and the puzzles so far. Looking forward to finishing the game! :)

Good puzzles, some quite challenging, especially if you aren't familiar with the way certain hints can be hidden.

It's a nice puzzle escape room game, but beware: you will need to think well "outside the box" for certain puzzles. If you've played the physical EXIT games, you'll know what I mean, but if you haven't, just know that you'll definitely be using the hint system at times. (Thankfully, it's a gentle hint system.)

Brilliant puzzle game! The puzzles are uniquely constructed. It also has a wonderful hint system that does not give the answers away all at once but instead nudges you, then gives you a hint, then gives you the answer if you're still stuck. I love this because it still allows you to do most of the work on the puzzle yourself and still feel satisfied when you solve it. I was so surprised at the quality of this game. I got it on sale but it is definitely worth the full price.

Just as the physical EXIT games, this was a tad bit too hard for me. :D Luckily the hint function had unlimited uses, so I'm not eternally stuck... The times when I actually figured things out by myself were super rewarding!

A very nice game, but very hard. I needed a walkthrough. And even after that, sometimes it didn't make sense to me.... But me is not you, so you should give it a try for yourself!

We played this and the previous one and enjoyed both of them. The puzzles were fun and sometimes obscure but also not too difficult. We didn't have to use any hints! Worth it for the price and fun to play as a couple working together

As someone who also loves the physical EXIT series, I think these are fantastic digital counterparts. Hoping that more continue to be released!

Same vibe as the pshysical games have, definitely a grab when you need a couple of hours of engagement.

My wife and have played a lot of the physical Exit escape room games and really enjoyed them so when I saw this I was pretty excited. After playing it we didn't feel like this really played the same as their physical games. Like I said we've played a lot of their physical games and know that you have to think outside the box whenever playing something by Exit, but this just missed the mark.

As an owner over 10 EXIT board-games and not a fan of point and click games(the only exception is the Room) I didn't enjoy this one at all. Too many things were solved by a chance and exhausting combinations. I would not recommend this particular one, but it happened with some paper versions as well, other games might be completely different.

If you like the normal Exit games, you'll love this. It's a more polished playthrough than Ophir as well.

Interesting, well-clued puzzles within the spirit of the box game series.

Great game in the usual EXIT setting - where you have to think outside the box to be successful!

This is a much simpler game than the previous EXIT game (the curse of Ophir). The game is pure puzzle, all the areas are 2D slides with hotspots that take you to a puzzle, there is no walk about exploration, and there are only 5 areas to visit. The puzzles are quite tough, the inventory system is really good and contains puzzles of its own with various inventory objects. If you like medium to hard puzzles this is a good game.

If you've played the physical Exit games, this is a great interpretation of those. It uses the puzzles from them and translates them into really interesting video game versions, requiring the same out of the box thinking the real ones do.
