The DLC adds a new clothing/armor to the game. You'll get it right at the start of the game, but you can't use it until you become a pirate (half an hour our so into the game). The clothing/armor itself looks great. In fact it's one of the most beautiful armors in the game, if not the most beautiful. This DLC's pirate hat is the best headgear in the whole game. The stats of the other clothing pieces aren't very good so you are likely going to replace them. It also adds a pistol and a new ring. Both items are very handy at the beginning, especially the ring which gives you a 5% glory bonus. Isn't really worth 2 bucks, so buy it with the Risen 2 Gold Editon!
Risen 2: Dark Waters - A Pirate's Clothes DLC
A DLC that in exchange for money, gives you a bland set of equipment without any cool stats and even looks. Just why. It's the whole Oblivion Horse DLC all over again, but this time you are the fucking horse.
Microtransaction Review
Uff, i despise items pre order or bonus armor or other small goodies in games as a dlc. Especially in a singleplayer game. But does the item break the game or is it useless or something inbetween is always something i wonder. Content As the description says you get a full pirate armor set and a ring which increases 5% XP gain. Additionally a pistol. The XP gain is pretty broken, giving you XP gain which you can equip shortly before delivering a quest or when fighting mobs. Additonally the pistol you get makes the early game a lot easier adding a really strong one that outmatches everything you can buy in the first island. Atleast the clothes cant be worn unless you are a pirate, after that it becomes a couple of hours into the game almost obsolote from finding better stuff. Conclusion/TL;DR Easily the worst kind of dlc, adding things that are better than anything you find in the early game adding something that wasnt intended. The pirate armor should have been in the base game whatsover, atleast buyable after becoming a pirate. Joke dlc, avoid unless you want to make the game easier. There is a difficulty option tough so even for that its pointless.

Well the ring is somewhat useful, sure. And the hat is probably among the best in the game. The rest of the gear however is worthless, unfortunately. All clothing items are in your inventory from the beginning, sure, but you can't wear them until you become a pirate. That happens late enough in the game that by that point you already have way better gear. Why make a pretentious armor DLC and give said armor laughable stats is beyond me. As I said, only the hat and the ring are somewhat worth it, but not enough to pay real money for. In fact the whole DLC should've been a free update at best, with the pirate clothes available from the beginning since they're really not as hot a shit as PB pretends.

What is Risen 2: Dark Waters - A Pirate's Clothes DLC? A downloadable content (DLC) for the game Risen 2: Dark Waters, a Role-Playing game by Piranha Bytes. Did you like it? Yes, I did. Why should I buy it? The DLC gives you some good items that are pretty useful for beginners and also aren't overpowered. Are there any flaws? I didn't notice any flaws.

Doesn't add anything substantial to the game.. Buy only if you specifically want to support devs or for roleplaying reasons.

the clothes can't be used at the start of the game, so it's kinda useless the ring gives 5% bonus XP (glory) and it's not that useful

I got this included in the 'Gold Edition' of the base game which includes the other (actual content) DLC, outside of that it is not worth purchasing.

Nothing too useful. I regret getting the Gold Edition for the two other DLCs as it means I paid for this thing as well.

Average clothes for the style. No pay2win :) I hate those petty rich guys who buy stuff just to be stronger. DLCs and buyable things from IG stores should all be like this DLC.

By the time i was a pirate, i already had better gear. Imo, it is not worth the money.

The jacket is useless but looks nice. Ring and hat are pretty good.
