I've been playing wargames for many years and this has been a most frustrating experience. I really wanted to like this game but the control interface is painfully bad. Half the time units wont move where you want them to, refuse to fight enemy in the same region or are simply impossible to control in any meaningful manner, and does the game tell you where you are going wrong..... no, nothing in the way of feedback or guidance... very frustrating. Have tried two different scenarios to learn the game but have now given up until it gets a dramatic improvement. The first scenario was an obvious win for the British (me) and achieved all of the stated objectives, but, at game end the result was announced as a draw 33-3 - obviously a bug that should really have been picked up in testing. In the second game my forces flatly refused to move North and advance on Quebec. It appeared as though one enemy unit, in the same region as my major stack, was stopping forward movement, but I could find no way to move on, nor fight this enemy unit. This went on for around five turns until game end when the result was again declared a draw. Altogether, a deeply flawed game that I would love to return, but cannot, as I have had the misfortune to waste five hours on it, in the spirit of 'giving it a good go'. I will not be buying another game from this series (and perhaps this company) again unless something changes.
