Flying Hero VR

I bought this based off reviews. I was hoping for the "feel" of flying but nothing. The controls were great, except turning around was difficult. One would think you'd simply point and steer to turn around. I found that the part that ruined the game for me. After all, it is a flying game. Watch the video above, you'll never see them turn around in the video. The play area isn't that large and basically you pick up cats. I lasted about 15-20 minutes and was bored. Oh well, at least it was cheap :) I think there's a lot of potential here, but as of today, it's too shallow.

This is good. If this really is version 0.1 as it says, this game is really good. It's far from a complete game, but still very playable and great for kids. I'm using a Valve Index, and the controls are really nice in this game, and the graphics are awesome in Ultra. I just wanted to start out my Valve Index experiences with a decent "Iron Man" type of flying game to see how it made me feel, and this one was perfect! It's simple and easy to learn and play, and actually makes me a little dizzy hopping from skyscraper to skyscraper, and I even get cramps in my legs from balancing a lot when I think I might fall off of ledges or buildings. Sure, it's a little silly hunting cute kitties, but I like it. And my grandkids just love it. I only hope they add the ability to reset the game to the beginning again, because before my grandkids even tried it, I had already captured most of the kitties and had already upgraded my boosters to the max, so there was little left for them to do except fly around and explore. I assume (and hope) there will be a lot more added to this game in future versions, including that reset option. This game really has great potential and I'm looking forward to what its future holds. If there's a way I could even delete my save data on Steam for this game, I would greatly appreciate the how-to from anyone... I already tried an uninstall and re-install, but it still remembers. And I also tried searching for any leftover files for the game on my system after uninstalling, and deleted those, then re-installed, but it STILL remembered. Great game though, I recommend it, even in its version 0.1 state.

TL:DR The Game you were looking for! (or at least I was) If you ever thought about flying in VR - THIS IS IT! Controls feel intuitive, are fun and easy to learn (but hard to master). The world is beautifully designed and offer lots and lots of dank memes <3 Pro - Flying in VR (do I need to say more?) - upgradeable thrusters - beautiful open world - hilarious missions, secrets and more - runs at 90fps without probs Con - graphics are okay - story isn't too deep (but do you really care?) Also: it's a very low price for a lot of fun! Support this indie dev, buy the game and become a (flying) hero!

This game really should be early access. I can't blame anything specific because I can fly and complete challenges and earn money and buy upgrades BUT My biggest issues with the game is that's essentially it. I think you have a lazer gun in your hand but You never use it for anything and there's zero game play besides flying around a city comprised of about 50 buildings? There's large stationary crabs and a sunken Atlantis ruin but there's just nothing to do but fly around them mindlessly. To be frank if I could still refund this I probably would have, I thought they would have added way more to the game by now. TLDR: Fun to fly around in but really nothing else to do. I'd almost recommend it on sale but the controls don't feel good. They feel functional, not fun to use.

I wanted to like this game. But: -It's very buggy -The controls are mapped for the Vive (I have Valve Index) -It says "version 0.1 early access" or something like that, even though it's not in early access anymore. The developer didn't even remove that to make things consistent (even if nothing changed into the final version) -It's boring. This last one may be subjective, but it is. I had a lot more fun playing the (free) Spiderman VR game, which is also about "superhero" mobility in a big city and with optional missions.

It's janky af. Played on Rift S. • The controls don't feel good, movement feels slow, the sudden slowing down on the height limit is weird (it feels weird plus I'd like to fly higher), the acceleration and deacceleration curves feel wrong. • I don't know if boost is working or not • I have absolutely no idea how to buy stuff in the shop • No collision on some terrain (I was flying through some cargo containers) • I saw a building with doors of half my height, completely out of proportion • I cannot rotate without physically rotating • I can't see the UI as it's outside my FOV • The part of the UI I can see is way too close so I have to cross my eyes • The graphics are rather boring • I basically don't know what to do This is what I came up in the first 15 minutes.

Update 11/9/2020: I had to reverse my review to negative. I thought the Developers were actually going to take this game to new heights, so I continued to support them because the base concept. However, they just released this game again, and I cannot find any changes to the game at all since it was first released. It's still the same old flying around looking for kittens....it gets very boring quickly. This game needed to have some more to do. There are not even enemies to fight along the way, which should be at least the bare minimum to get more excitement into the game. I have not seen this game updated since I owned it several months ago. Meanwhile, many of the games I own are updated regularly. Common, Dev....you can do better than this. 6/2020 Review below: Great concept! Excellent Controls. Very well executed! Flying is easily mastered, even without any tutorial with any detail. The only thing this game lacks is some excitement. Flying around, looking for kitties just gets a bit boring once you have climbed all the tall buildings. Perhaps the Developer could give us some enemies to fight along the way, with Level progression as well. I do not want to have to find 100 Kittens to get to the next level. It is also boring to just fly around all day in search of ever-increasingly difficult to find Kittens. Also, the higher I get, the slower it is to get to the top. Why the delay? Get my a** to the top of the building ASAP so I can see if there are more Kittens nearby fast. Please keep developing this game....and it's a winner for sure!!!

It's a fun Kirby Air Ride variant in VR. If you enjoyed Kirby's timed challenges where you race to find and collect objects, fly through rings, or shoot targets, you can have some fun here.

Very fun, though rough around the edges (you hear static from the sound at times, fall through boats and whatnot instead of landing on them, etc). One improvement that this game needs to work for "seated" is turning without actually turning your body, IE using the stick or such to turn your body. Otherwise you need a chair on a swivel and to untangle the cord after a bit.

Played with Oculus. PROS: - Flying is cool - Graphics are good CONS: - Very uncomfortable to play as you can´t turn and are connected with a cable - There aren`t instructions and it doesn't tell you what to do - When you fly very high you go slower - In the menu when selecting quality it go so fast that's difficult to select - I got the impression that it is an unfinished game (in the menu show Early Access and I have bought it finished)

This game is silly and wonderful and it took longer than usual for my VR legs to fail. You fly around. You collect cats. You go on short timed quests. There are lots of rocket sounds and memes. It's kinda great for what it is and costs about the right amount. The flight controls are super intuitive. I like that it's super easy to change quality and you have a constant FPS monitor. I still got motion sick after about half an hour, but that's way longer than I lasted in Lone Echo, so whatever. My brain is really good at ignoring fake heights but doesn't much like crashing into things and not having any physical feedback. Whatever, it's how my brain be. I won't fault the game. I'm impressed that it took me as long as it did to feel suddenly ill and rip off my headset and stand in front of a fan at full blast while contemplating the merits of ginger tea. I wish that there were better support for Index Controllers, as getting through menus can be a bit tricky. This is compounded by my own left handedness and the fact that the menus are strictly right handed. So it goes. I've encountered infinitely worse lefty support, but it would be nice to see it improved. At least the core flying stuff is utterly both handed. Admittedly this is a recurring theme in pretty much all of my reviews because I'm opinionated about such things and prefer to not feel super awkward in my escapism. This feels like it's in a similar vein as Catlateral Damage. I like finding non-violent silly games with nary a zombie.

Great VR game, with an extremely interesting idea about "Meow York City", which was captured by evil unicorns. The action takes place on behalf of a superhero Cat, which in turn can move through the air at the expense of its Bracers-satchels. The storyline is also very interesting. An open world with a lot of tasks of various difficulties. In turn, the game is quite light and not demanding, easy to learn controls, and has an excellent video and audio range.

### Gameplay ### It's immersive, it's fast, it's just fun! The missions are simple but have lots of jokes and nerd culture references (i.E. Banan4Scale, CowLevel, Halo etc). Exploring the world, finding all 100 kitten and upgrading the thrusters lets you forget about the real world and time. ### Graphics ### Good, not too fancy but I like the style. It runs smooth on my machine without any framedrops, glitches or lagging. ### Story ### It's not HL: Alyx storywise, but who cares? The missions are fun to play, every once in a while there's a unicorn mission and I also heard about a "final boss" and probably know where this could take place at the end. :D

Didn't expect a lot, but it was surprisingly fun. After a short amount of time you get used to the flying mechanics and feel like a combination of Superman and Ironman. It definitely is a fun game worth playing if you like freedom of movement.

I had a lot of fun and joy playing this Cat Hero game. The city is pretty big so it's possible to feel speed upgrades and enjoy a lot of visuals. Gaming process brings only positive emotions, because it's not too difficult and enemies are cute. Environment is very satisfying for flying on high speed. Recommended!

The developers have a rather unusual approach and the story they came up with. The bottom line is simple, there are evil unicorns that conquered New York, and our task is to protect the city by any means, for example, we have a lot of things that we can pump in our character, namely: flight speed, equipment and many other cool things. I was also pleased that the game in VR is an open world, which is a rarity in modern games.

I paid under $10 for this. It has been worth it. I will play again for sure. It's a bit buggy, a bit repetitive - but when the stuff you are repeating is kind of fun and the reason you bought the game, as long as youre in the mood for what that is, this captures it well. Enjoyable. Recommend at under $10, definitely buy this if you see it at a price under $5.

Note: Early Access review. For this price it's really a good game and I recoomend it. Pro: -The flying is just soo fun and intuitive, it just takes a short time to fly around obstacles and racing tracks. But to mention this is defentily nothing for people with motion sickness. -Missions are fun and the thrusters upgrades and stars keep you trying. -no mentionable performance problems. Contra, (or better to say improvement suggestions): -The Graphics, animations and overall interface are just bare average even bad a sometimes. -mission placing/ unlocking is cofusing and most time I just fly around the whole map multiple times just to find a new mission/mission where i dont have all 3 stars. -A little bit less to do. I mean the misiosns are fun and the kitten hunt is also a good way to keep you flying around but overall the game still feels a bit empty. Still it's really a fun game and I will keep fllowing up with the updates to see how the game is getting even better.

For a long time I could not find anything interesting in VR, but then I found this game in the recommendations, it’s just great, I felt free, plus also a discount from above, perfect

This game has everything you need. The freedom of flying through an open world, captivating missions (for a vr game) and upgrades. Did I mention that you join the eternal war between cute kittens and even cuter unicorns? Can it get more awesome?

This is a horrible game, full of asset store placed items and you really just run after pu...cats. I love it. The flying is great, doesn't cause nausea at all. The city looks horrendous, but its so full of interesting details, jokes and easter eggs you still want to fly everywhere in it. Now if the devs figured out how make a game by doing this, I congratulate them and truly hope that they'll put their newly found competences to an actual real game with the same mechanics. Oh, and keep it equally children friendly and it'll rock =)

Pretty cool game! With a cool story about unicorns and cats. This is a very cool VR game. This game is very dynamic in the first place, it is really very dynamic, which is why you don't want to stop playing it. I recommend buying the game.

Graphics are pretty simple but after a while your brain just accepts it and you are fully immersed. Bought the game due to the small price and because I have been looking for something like this for a while. Wasn't disappointed

This game is great for beginners of the genre, as the control is immediately shown. There are many interesting easter eggs), various missions, both for speed and for thinking. The action takes place in "Meow City" - a fictional city. The game immediately captures with its graphics and colorfulness. VR is especially cool to play it (played on vr from htc)

Got a ncie Iron Man feeling. I love it! Enough of just staying on the ground in other VR games, this on takes you to the flying experience.

Cool game for VR ! Crazy plot about unicorns and cats. The game is not very demanding on hardware: on mine gtx 1080 going well at 80-90 fps. Beautiful world map. Nice upgrading system. Very cheap, but good game.

I am not a fan of the VR genre,but for experts it is definitely worth attention game in this genre. Gaming process brings only positive emotions,recommended!

Played with Vive Wands, You fly forward the handrocket with the trigger, handle button gives an almost unperceprible boost?, up on the trackpad is "accept" when you are close to a mission giver, and to shoot lasers out your rockets during specific missions. (lasers did no sound for me) Flying around the city was pretty fun, but that was about it. The game is set in a "biggish" city, there isnt much movement or life in it aside from some cars that run on a set path. In around the city there are stars, cats that give you missions, and lostkittys. The cats that give you missions where: find x of y thing, "shoot" unicorns (lasers make no sound), or a time trial race; those are the 3 missions i got. Depending on how you fare on the mission, you can get 1-3 stars. Then you can find lost kitties each 4 cats you find you get a star... You also encounter "transparent/locked" mission giving cats, to unlock those you need to get stars... so the more stars you get the more missions around the city you can find. There are some interesting parts around the city... but there is nothing to do there. feels like they intended to add a ton of more content, but didnt, and left an empty map (that... looks a lot like other games ive played, so probably a bought asset?) Product Refunded because its still needs more a lot more polish and content, but the last update was +6 months ago.

When Super Mario and the cat from Shrek had a child which then had a child with Iron Man, that is this game! Good game. Especially for that price. I expected at least some motionsickness when flying, but there was absolutely none!
