Old Retro Shooter

This is the 3rd game from "Hede" I've reviewed over the last two years.. and the 3rd direct asset flip. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zn0RWT69x-4 It's basic, with no welcome screen, no settings at all, no way to change the language, so the store page stating 29 languages is a flat out LIE by this asset flipping developer.. And that's because it is a direct asset flip from the Unity Asset Store.. (I know it's a real shock right?) https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/templates/systems/hellish-battle-2-5d-retro-fps-217578 More zero effort TRASH but another lazy asset flipping developer (I wouldn't call an asset flipper like Hede a "developer" however. It takes NO skill or development skills to load an asset kit into Unity and hit the "export" button. JS NOT RECOMMENDED. 100% ASSET FLIP gets my googled red asset ZERO as a score.

Saw it going for cheap now I know why. No settings so if the game runs poorly or if you want to change it to its 29 other languages you're out of luck. No welcome menu, no tutorial besides E to open doors which doesn't work sometimes. Enemies shoot through walls and are already spawned in rooms ahead of you so as soon as you finally press E to open that door they've been shooting you through they are happy to greet you. Got all the Achievements in the first 5 minutes so theres that. To thrive I believe the previous problems should be fixed while also adding more identity to the game itself to be unique from the other classic shooter games out there.

It's terrible. For some reason the dev also raised the price so it's almost 100 bucks now, previously it was below one buck. But even for free this game isn't worth it.

There's no welcome menu and no proper tutorial, aside from being told to press E to open doors—which doesn’t even work consistently. Enemies can shoot through walls and are already spawned in rooms ahead of you. By the time you manage to get the door open (if it works), they’re ready to unload on you. I did manage to get all the achievements within the first 5 minutes, so there’s that. To thrive, this game desperately needs fixes for these issues, as well as more identity to help it stand out from the many other classic shooters out there.

Its not a bad game. just real basic. no instructions but its easy to play if you just rely on your gaming ancestors spirit to guide you. Many of them might still be alive lol

In a shocking move this Russian "developer" now released a retro FPS instead of the usual hidden object garbage but because they can't code it's still an asset flip. And not of a particularly great asset either. [url=https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/templates/systems/hellish-battle-2-5d-retro-fps-217578]Hellish Battle - 2.5D Retro FPS[/url] by Tiny Slime Studio is, as the name suggests, an attempt to recreate the classic FPS games - Doom, Duke Nukem 3D and so on - in Unity 3D. It's not my cup of tea personally - if I want to play a shooter I prefer modern graphics - but it somewhat works. For some reason HEDE, in their eternal wisdom, chose to [i]remove[/i] features from the template that are now sorely missing, like for example the graphics settings. Even the main menu has been removed. Instead you're simply dumped into the level without any kind of introduction. There's only one map and once you beat that there's nothing left to do in the game. Given that [url=https://store.steampowered.com/app/2290/Final_DOOM/]Final Doom[/url] is just $5 and contains endlessly more entertainment I suggest you turn to that if you really have to play a retro shooter. Even if you've played it before it's still more enjoyable than "Old Retro Shooter". As a sidenote, all these positive reviews on the store page are fake. HEDE always buys fake reviews for their games so never trust any of them.
