I really enjoyed this one and thought that it held up well in the modern era. Fun platforming physics and puzzles, and some interesting abilities for each of the three characters. Can't wait to check out the rest of the series.

1 Part Wizard, 1 Part Thief, 0.5 parts Warrior. Trine is a fantasy game where you can control three protagonists by switching on the fly (Or co-op with local/remote play friends). Each character/class has their own speciality and special abilities allowing you to approach the game in different ways. The Wizard creates objects by drawing them. These can be used to stack them and climb over obstacles or make bridges and such. You can also crush enemies with said objects. The thief has a grapple hook and a bow and arrow which can be used for traversal and hitting foes or targets as well as lighting torches. And the warrior is... there I guess. The warrior is a bit underutilised and has a sword and shield. The shield blocks and the sword smacks. The great thing about Trine is that despite its age it holds up rather well. The movement is a little clunky but the grapple hook is great to use and the magic system is rather inovative too. The only real problem the game has is that it fails to really give the warrior something to do, unlike the other two characters who feel more fleshed out. The areas also feel rather fleshed out and unique to some degree. There's forests, dungeons, ruins and caves and such which mix things up. Enemy types a re a little limited but they're more small obstacles than anything major. Each level also has hidden secrets and collectibles to pick up that can buff your characters. Overall Trine is a solid game and it doesn't surprise me that it got numerous sequels. Hopefully they are as good as the first.

Beautiful game, puzzle platformer with action. Can't go wrong with Trine. Also enough upgrades for all 3 characters. It allows you to make very nice options to play with. It's also when a great era of games were upon us where games were actually fun.

Excellent game. You can use 3 different heroes which you can switch to anytime you want as long as they're alive. A mage (telekinesis / matter spawner), a thief (ranger + hookshot), and a warrior (sword and hammer). It feels nice and the obstacles can be challenging (fun). Easy to recommend to more casual players you might know since it's a good game but easy to pick up and talk about. The controls might be a bit uncomfortable at first though.

Challenging platforming game with a bit of antics of their own, if you can get it on sale with Trine 2 and 3 I strongly suggest you go for it

Super fun game. Challenges are tough enough to make you feel smart, but not so tough that you find yourself stuck without a clue.

Combat and puzzles are very easy. The game was pretty boring.

Played it in the past and it seemed good. Went back to try again years later and the game has a trojan in the download. Don't waste your time or have a great anti virus and hope it doesn't mess you up.

Audio doesn't work properly in local multiplayer, have tried various suggested fixes. Win 11. Don't recommend.
