Golf With Your Friends is initially an enjoyment to play. The ignorantly pure mistakes that you make when playing a course for the first time, shrugged away with laughs and determination, are later magnified into concentrated doses of rage, as you are no longer play for fun, but to win. But playing "for fun" is a naive person's game. The hedonic treadmill that is engrained into our greedy human brains can only take so much "fun" until it yearns for more, lest you become bored. So, naturally, you steer away from the company of your friends into focusing each shot to be optimally perfect. You analyze the geometry, the putt-vectors, the cuts, the jumps, the kickshots... But playing to win is a fool's game. Each miss that you make, each point that you stray behind in, each game that you lose—in the end you fall into a slippery slope of frustration and apathy. So do not make this mistake. Enjoy your time with your friends in this charming little game of mini-golf with whimsical courses and obstacles. Play through all the maps together, have some banter, play for fun. But the moment you try to optimize, is the moment you have placed your foot on a landmine.

Golf With Your Friends is a deceptively simple, wildly entertaining multiplayer mini-golf game that thrives on chaos, laughter, and creative level design. Developed by Blacklight Interactive and published by Team17, the game takes the traditional, often-serene game of mini-golf and infuses it with absurd physics, imaginative course layouts, and enough power-ups and modifiers to ensure no two matches ever feel the same. Despite its casual appearance, it hides a surprising amount of mechanical depth, making it a staple among party games and a favorite for streamers, friend groups, and competitive chaos-seekers alike. At its core, Golf With Your Friends delivers on its title’s promise with up to 12-player online multiplayer support, turning what could be a quiet solo experience into a frantic and funny race of golf balls bouncing, flying, and sometimes glitching across themed obstacle courses. Unlike traditional turn-based golf games, here all players take their shots simultaneously, creating a real-time scramble that fuels both competition and hilarious mishaps. Watching your carefully aimed shot knocked wildly off-course by a teammate (or an enemy) adds an unpredictable and entertaining dimension to every hole. One of the game’s standout features is its diverse set of themed courses. From pirate coves and haunted houses to sci-fi space stations and ancient temples, each map brings its own visual identity and mechanical twists. Some introduce low gravity, moving platforms, teleporters, or bouncing pads, challenging players to adapt their approach constantly. The developers’ creativity is on full display here, as these environments are not only visually distinct but also thoughtfully constructed to encourage a mix of skill, experimentation, and, often, luck. Beyond its inventive courses, Golf With Your Friends shines in its customization options. Players can personalize the experience with modifiers such as jumping, collision (turning polite putts into full-contact golf), random shapes (cue the nightmare of golfing with a cone), and low or high friction. These tweaks let players transform the experience from a semi-serious game of precision into a riotous, unpredictable sandbox of silliness. The cosmetic customization—hats, trails, and skins for your ball—adds a layer of personality and whimsy, giving players a way to stand out in the crowd. Mechanically, the game’s controls are straightforward and easy to pick up: a simple drag-and-release mechanic determines power and direction, while an optional camera mode helps with lining up shots. Despite this simplicity, there’s room for mastery, especially on more complex courses or in competitive lobbies where precision and timing become vital. Some holes demand perfect angles or clever use of environmental elements, rewarding players who take the time to study the course. However, Golf With Your Friends is not without its shortcomings. The game’s physics, while generally satisfying, can occasionally feel inconsistent—especially when dealing with slopes, bounces, or object collision. These quirks can lead to moments of frustration, particularly when a ball behaves unexpectedly due to a hidden edge or errant bump. Additionally, while the UI and menus have improved since launch, they still feel slightly clunky, and hosting games with a large group can take a bit of coordination. There is also a lack of in-game tutorialization for new players, meaning some mechanics and course-specific quirks are learned through trial and error. The visual style is colorful and cartoony, fitting perfectly with the game’s lighthearted tone. While it won’t win awards for graphical fidelity, the charm lies in its playful aesthetics and variety. Each course feels lovingly designed with small environmental details that help bring the world to life. The soundtrack is similarly cheerful and ambient—enough to set the mood without becoming repetitive or intrusive. One area where Golf With Your Friends continues to evolve is through its support for the Steam Workshop and updates. The inclusion of custom maps and community-created content extends the game’s longevity dramatically. It also makes the game feel like a living, growing platform rather than a static experience. Frequent community tournaments and updates from the developers help maintain an engaged player base and keep content fresh. In conclusion, Golf With Your Friends is a standout party game that combines accessible gameplay with anarchic multiplayer energy. It succeeds by not taking itself too seriously and giving players the tools to create moments of shared hilarity and chaotic brilliance. Whether you’re looking to unwind with friends, sabotage your rivals with well-timed collisions, or just appreciate some cleverly designed mini-golf courses, the game delivers hours of replayable fun. While it’s not without its technical rough spots, its charm, creativity, and community-driven energy more than make up for them. It’s a reminder that sometimes the best kind of golf is the kind where everyone’s yelling. Rating: 8/10

Each level is packed with quirky obstacles and unexpected challenges that keep gameplay fresh and engaging. Whether you're casually competing or just goofing around with custom settings, the chaotic yet friendly nature of the game makes for a perfect party experience. Terrible physics and a lot of maps that just reward you hitting the ball as hard as you can from the starting point, but hey, you can buy crap to put on the ball.

Really fun, great to play with friends and also fun to play alone. I have only played the classic version so far and haven't tried the other modes but even with just one of the modes it was worth buying. The customization feature is amazing too. Love the green ghoul wings I unlocked!

If you value your self worth, never touch this game. Highly addictive and I can't put it away. I lose a bit of my soul each time I touch a new community map. This game can easily put you in a psych ward for suicidal thoughts. Love it, 10/10 would not change a thing.

Chaos. Rage Quitting. The beauty of this game is you cannot control the other people playing no matter how good you may actually be at golf. To me, it's hilarious. I like to play games by myself to relax. Playing with a group is completely different. Great stages and designs. I love getting new ways to style my golf ball.

This game should be called Golf with your enemies, by the time we're done with a round of golf I think the whole group is at each others throat in a funny way... So 10/10 you should definitely get this game, turn collision on, and make your friends regret even buying the game in the first place, and question why you are even friends to begin with, and that's how you play Golf with your Friends! :D

This game is great with friends, as the name implies. The only setback to an otherwise perfect minigolf sim, is it does this weird thing every turn where the controller is not connected to the next player until SOMEONE presses A. The problem with this is some people AHEM* want to screw up your par by hitting A and throwing your ball in a lake or something. The controller should be assigned to the player and left at that. It is really the only gripe. 4.2/5

Trickshot Your Friends is a great game when you have collision turned on, and knock your friends off the course, or even better, onto a different part of the course. For people who say "jumping ruins courses", and things like "well this makes it to easy". Then you have misunderstood how to trickshot. I promise, if you try to do fun trickshots, you will lose, but in the most enjoyable way. In summary, Backshots on Your Friends is a great game!

Great game to get on with friends once in a while. The graphics look like ass, but that doesn't really matter. The golf mechanics are well done, and there is enough free maps for it to never become stale. Highly recommended!

Golf With Your Friends is a lighthearted, easy-to-pick-up game that delivers exactly what the name suggests; a relaxed, fun experience best shared with others. There’s a good variety of maps to choose from, and the ability to customize your golf ball adds a nice personal touch. It’s not a highly competitive or technical golf sim, but it doesn’t need to be. Great for casual sessions and group hangouts.

fun game to play with friends! I've had a great time playing this game with my friends! it can be a tad glitchy every once in a while, but nothing terrible; you may have to forfeit a hole every once in a blue moon, but that's pretty rare. I do wish that the game would only give items that you haven't gotten before when it gives you new items, but that's more of personal preference than anything against the game itself. overall enjoyable game!

Golf with your enemies is a game that can destroy any relationship and cause self damage, but its kind of funny too so u can buy if you want. Although it can destroy relationships i dont recommend playing it alone, cuz it will quickly bore you. Also why does every new map cost that much? Like its not something that great and not that innovating. But golf it is better fr.

Short form: For about the cost of a pizza, you and some friends can have a fun but very slightly junky party game (when it's on sale) with more base game content than you'd expect in most modern games with DLC included. Super worth it. 8/10 Long form: With this game essentially "completed" in terms of support and development, I will say that after about 5 years of play, it has shaped up nicely. It is an excellent deal on sale, the amount of game you get for 4 and some change dollars is excellent. I do find that in the official maps you can sometimes run into some consistently located geometry clipping/hit box issues. I say issues lightly, it feels more like you hit a wrinkle or rock under the 'grass' of the course where course pieces connect. One thing of positive note is the excellent policy of the way players engage with DLC. If the host has a DLC course, all people in the lobby can play on the map course of whether they own it or not. This makes the game very accessible from a financial standpoint. This accessibility leans deeply into the 'party game' feeling of this title. Add some silly free cosmetics, all available to unlock for free simply by playing, and you have a wonderful arcadey mini golf party game experience.
