I have been playing this for awhile now and so far I love how this looks. Some people might find the West Somerset route to be boring due to the slow speed, but I like the relaxing drive it provides. The 52 is a nice welcome addition to the other locomotives available for West Somerset Railway to complete the "Diesel Gala" it includes some new scenarios (one that uses the turntable) for you to try out. I like older locomotives and they did a great job on the model on this one. It looks and sounds good! I look forward to being able to drive this on future routes! If you own the WSR DLC - I highly recommend buying it as it adds more variety to the route.

Another DTG DLC that looks fab but the sound is lacking like every other thing they make. I'm amazed this has been released without its name plate, considering the locomotive still carries it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The locomotive in real life is in a bit of a mess with its body work needing some TLC and it would be nice if in the future DTG will bring out some FREE updates to include weathered body work. This DLC is a welcomed addon apart from the price, however its the business model they run and if you really want it then you pay the money. Well done DTG for this wizzo, I'm pleased with it apart from the big let down on the sound. I score it 8/10 because the sound sucks.

Love this dlc which has been really nicely worked. My only gripe, which is very minor, is that I would have liked to see this engine in the Blue and Yellow livery...perhaps that might come in the future? Very happy to have this in Train Sim World, another good job done.

It's difficult to know how to rate this DLC because while the locomotive itself is superb the West Somerset railway you have to use it with is frustratingly limited limiting the powerful Western to just 25mph and at times just 5mph. Although I've never seen one of the Westerns in real life I was curious about it particularly the unusual (for a locomotive) diesel hydraulic drivetrain. The locomotive looks great inside and out and it gets even better when you give it some throttle, hear the two mighty engines spin up as it surges forward with the rpm dials climbing. But then you have to immediately stop because you've hit the 25mph limit. The choice to only allow the locomotive on the West Somerset railway is baffling and I find it immensely frustrating. There are three scenarios, one where you do a brief bit of shunting, one where you move one stop and then put the Western on the turntable (which seems very buggy for me) and a final much longer scenario where you move along the entire line again with a maximum of 25mph and sections of 5 and 10mph. It finishes after a long slow 5mph leaving you with a view of the mainline where the Western could finally get up to speed but not this time. I like the diesel gala idea and it's certainly what some of the classic vintage locomotives do in real life but it feels like it should be a bonus scenario and powerful locomotives like the 52 should get the chance to do some express passenger work as they were designed for. Ultimately I don't regret buying the DLC and having been using a mod to allow me to use the Western on other routes (with mixed results), I find it a good locomotive to drive with the well lit cabin and responsive controls. It's just a shame by default it's so limited.

This is my favorite Add-On Loco in TSW 2020. Fantastic sounds and realistic controls make this a joy to drive around. I found the 3 scenarios engaging and a nice feature to add. Obviously I would prefer to have more but this was fair (particularly as I picked this DLC up half-off). Highly recommend, particularly if you already own West Somerset Line and have not visited it in awhile.
