So this is roughly the 8th/9th TSW DLC, and so far I've purchased the base game, GWE, WSR, and LIRR. I thought I would dip my toes in with this one, and I have to say, I am considerablly un-impressed with the direction Dovetail are taking this franchise, and my patience is almost at a hair. To be fair, lets start with the positives : + The "local" or immediate scenery design is gorgeous. Trackside here is wonderfully detailed and is a very refreshing change to other sceneries. This was a good choice for a route from Dovetail, and offers many picturesque scenes on par with WSR, as you wind up and down these inclines + Locomotives are exceptionally detailed + PIS! Finally :D + Somewhat more interesting and developed soundscapes + More variety in types of services offered. However, all of this is let down by the following : - A grand total of 5 scenarios. - Lack of tutorials (Despite covered in the manual, DTG really should take the time to explain concepts like German signalling and PZB in the actual game) - Train detail about 1/4 of what CSX:HH was - A rather barren world. Limited amount of passenger spawning. To what I understand aswell, there are meant to be far more services passing through this route (ICE? I'll hold my tongue if that is incorrect) Why can't we have these are non-boardable/ non-usable ai? - Extremely sloppy scenery design. Untextured distant mountains, road/town cutoffs highly evident. - DLC is advertised as being packaged with "moving cars" that represent a more lively scenery. While a welcome change, you'll be lucky to see 5 at a time. - QA is non-existant. In the space of an hour, I was able to get stuck in a station underpass, irreversibly stall a train on an incline with no ability to reset, get stuck behind an AI train at a red for 15 mins, fall under the world at Aschaffenburg. - Essentially re-used stock from RSN More to the point, I think it's an insult that we are probably somewhere at the 1-2 year mark with this amount of DLCs, and we still have... - No multiplayer (As advertised on the first CSX:HH trailers) - No ability for custom controller setup (what I would have thought would be a basic feature) - No steam engines - No route outside of Germany | Uk | America (Although understandably, demographic data and the company business should be considered.) Bottom line is, I shall not be purchasing more DTG dlc unless I see substantial improvement, or I see a really desirable route.

TO BE CLEAR: All TSW routes are better than TS2019 routes, so just because I gave this one a thumbs down does not mean that it is a bad route, just not up to the same TSW standard. And there are many cool things about this route. The lighting and atmosphere is stunning and the street traffic and display boards are a nice addition. But there are some real cons. And with that, on to my full review. This is pretty much the same DLC as RSN (the last German route). Same trains, same cars, indistinguishable line. This is unacceptable for the price. At this stage of TSW all new routes should have new locos and new environments. If you don't already have RSN then this DLC is the better German option, but if you do have RSN then this route will feel painfully similar. I love TSW but I want a wider collection of routes. This is already the third German route. If DTG wants to win me over then they need to add new content. And to be clear, this route is not new content. This roue as a stand alone product is not a bad route. The line is beautiful and their are some nice new additions. But it is unacceptable to charge so much for more of the same. They did not even change the locos from RSN that much. They may be slightly different models but it is clear that they just altered the locos slightly from RSN and called it a day. For those of you who like pros and cons, here is a list: pros: 1) Best looking German route so far. 2) Display boards are a nice edition. 3) The lighting is stunning. 4) Finally street traffic. 5) Loco acceleration sounds are good. cons: 1) Draw distance is too short and distant trees look patchy and unrealistic. 2) It was impossible to finish the first mission. I turned off the loco as instructed. The markers disappeared as they should, and nothing happened and no new prompts appeared. 3) The locos are basically the same as the last German route. 4) The rain makes no sound, even with the windows open. (Not enough ambient sounds in general). 5)The instructions on scenarios should have optional audio ques like tutorials. 6) Why on earth are all of the cars on the auto racks the same bland color and type. It is a little creepy to watch the train go by. In general I actually love the route, I am just tired of getting more of the same, and the cons that I mentioned are a real factor.

There's a few bugs but honestly I still haven't found anything which doesn't allow me to fully enjoy this DLC. In my opinion, this has been the best DLC DTG has made for TSW. I enjoy a lot driving the local passenger trains as well as the freight trains. The other day I've streamed TSW for the 1st time with this DLC and I've had a lot fun hopping on freight trains after I drove a passenger train in both directions of the route. I will be looking forward to have more rolling stock for this route and hopefully also some sort of extention in the future. However, the current route distance is just OK ( you still spend about almost an hour driving a local train from one side to another ). TLDR; I fully recommend this DLC!

Good route overall, but there is a lot of bugs at the moment, if they do not get fixed within a reasonable period of time they I will update this review with a negative rating.

So far the best DLC this game has to offer. Almost everything is done right: - very good graphics - very good physics [ acceleration, braking(train weight, train lenght) ] - a lot of high quality locos and wagons (yes they are recycled and upgraded vehicles from RSN but who cares) - a lot of services and they are actually good (freight includes banking and double loco setups, passenger isnt boring and quite a lot of fun with all rolling stock working as intended) - the line itself is alive!!! Trains are moving non-stop on this route every 2 minutes in all directions: freight, passenger, solo banking locos. Everything is working properly so You have feeling that it is real world simulation. I think from 10am to 5pm there are at least 15 moving trains at every given time on this route. - PZB is working properly 95% of the time - signaling is also working properly 90% of the time To summarise this is great DLC and it is worth the price. If You already have RSN this is GREAT addition! In fact I am shocked that DGT managed to implement everything in this DLC (graphics, physics, map, simulation of trains going as planned in time table) and it actually works almost perfectly. Only thing is missing is Time Table in passenger mode (now you dont have time goals and they will add it in near future).

little shorter than RSN but i think really nicely done. the up and down grades add a nice challenge, specially for freight. the moving cars on the road are a nice addition as well. nothing much new for the rolling stock. still i would recommend.

Nearby scenary surrounding route was an advantage in RSN but now here is just terribly sloppy and unbearable

A solid route with the best AI density seen yet in service mode, this cant be overstated enough. The traffic density is spot on for the first time and really aids service mode come to life for the first time, lets hope this is the new trend moving forward. The route length however is on the shorter side and the landscape detail level compared with RSN can be disappointing with shiny hill sides and rather ugly 2d assets standing out as an eyesore. Signaling so far has been solid so its an easy recommendation if your into German content.

In my opinion this is a bit of a lazy route done by DTG , RSN Is a much better route with more detail and overall just better! I would recommend that instead of this for a German route, It still a good looking route but nothing really new apart from the helping of the hill climb thing which is really not very interesting anyhow. When you do a passenger service there is no time needed to get to that station just shows the next station and no due in time. As I said RSN Is a much better route rather give this one a miss, its not badly priced but nothing new.

Overall good route. I wish the two locos included were a bit more different from each other. The route provides interesting heavy haul climbs with helper engines and passenger runs at higher speeds than the RSN. Visually I'd call it RSN with more pines and less sidings, and generally feeling a bit more empty.

Nice route with varied services and locos, however it is let down massively by the buggy, rushed mess that is Journey Mode: - The Journey Mode passenger runs haven't been programmed with a timetable, so you can drive as slowly as you like - At least one Journey Mode mission seems to be completely broken (which I can confirm personally, with several others reporting other issues), due to gridlock occurring with trains blocked in both directions

On the whole pretty impressed. However, there is a major issue with restarting the 185 and 766 at stations and emergency stops. If you find your train will not pull off try the following (it always works for me).....Apply brake fully, move to 1A, wait then release then move throttle from off to above minimum. (TRAIN WILL NOT MOVE YET). Now return throttle to off and then back above minimum ..problem solved. Is this a bug? If it is a standard operational procedure (seems unlikely) it should be fully described. If it isn't it should be fixed! Other than that..... The Good: Great train detailing and response (other than above) Really detailed track side scenery Much more AI Immersive (yes really!) The Bad: Terrible distant scenery....incl 2D trees! Headlights on the 185 display red and don't illuminate route (oh for goodness sake!) One or two services won't play till the end. Overall: Recommended (qualified)

I am really not sure if I should give this route a thumbs up or down. There are many things that have been done poorly by Dovetail games, yet I find myself enjoying this route and rolling stock, since I am mostly someone that isn't nitpicking on everything. Down below you'll find a list of positive and negative aspects of this DLC. + Route looks stunning and is definetly interesting itself + Passenger, freight and even banking operations + BR146 and BR185 are quite detailed and behave realistic for the most part (more on that later) + Scenarios are well done and versatile + Performance is alright on a decent PC (mostly 60FPS on Ultra on my built - however some FPS drops in Aschaffenburg) + Train Destination monitors can be adjusted manually --- - Sifa and PZB can be buggy > Sifa triggers emergency brake instantly sometimes without a warning > Sifa doesn't make a Sound sometimes > PZB acknowledge doesn't work for me all the time at danger showing signals > PZB "Zugbeeinflussung" Sound is cutting off or not playing sometimes - Wrong Signage along the route (120 kph is allowed, but on the route a "10" sign > 100kph sign is shown) - Wrong signalling (Often in front of Aschaffenburg a 30kph Zone is not being announced by the previous signal) > this can lead to a Emergency brake triggered by the PZB when approaching the signal with 40kph - Track is very short and should have been built all the way to Würzburg All in all I can not recommend this route for the full price of 30$, but since I bought it on sale for 10$ I am going to give this a thumbs up. Knowing how good/bad this route is now, I personally wouldn't spend more than 15$.

A very detailed DLC with a good extension of the previous german DLC. You now have acess to tankers, auto racks and another variant of the control car. You'd have a very nice variation of Passanger and Freight now across the german routes. Some minor sound issues detected with the 766.2 control car which I've reported on the forums. There is defenetly plenty of electric locomotives now. I just wonder when will any oft he german routes get some grunty diesel units already, It's a tradition to pull a heavy tanker train with a grunty german diesel power instead of an electric one. Very glad to see functioning destination board on the locomotive and passanger cars. From memory, this route also features an ICE service, a class 185 with "Rail4chem" livery with a freight wagons to match this which suggests a chemical transport train dose work on this line transporting dry chemicals. So I belive there should be more expansions for this route done by the devs in the future. I am always a fan of German Engineering especially rail. All your current electric german engines you purchased are present here if you have them

I definitely think this route is worth it if you are into german routes or if you like RSN. This route is very similar to RSN, it uses the same locos and the alot of the assets are the same. One thing I think you should be aware of is that the scenary on this route is pretty bad compared to other releases, the distant scenary is honestly a big drawback for me, but on the other hand it has decent fps, and the new features like banking, working destination display and a return of the AI road traffic is well implemented into the game. And as usual with the TSW releases there are some bugs, the worst ones seemed to be fixed after day one so nothing game breaking, and the route works fine. The last thing to note is that if you own RSN you will be able to use the normal DB livery for the 185.2 and the 143 for service mode operations, Which is very nice.

Hi !! I would like to comment some things that its important to say. I play this game since the game called Railsimulator, after call Railworks and finaly TS or Train Simulator XXXX. This constructive critical serve for the old players and the designers of the game. My thought its the same of the many others old players. This new route doesn´t really like the real , its virtual I know, but you of Dovateli Games have the powerfull computer e sofisticated software, and this new route have same fakes objects that really upset to me. Example: the bridge above of the German Highway A3 its not like with the exist bridge in real railroad . And the tunnel that exist in the game its not similar of the real railroad. Come on gays, you can really better than this. I´m a railfan , but I'm tired to see the same things, I would like to spend my money to enjoy the game and this game is not realy exating like the TS. This game doesn't have free roan , quick drive, and the always the same locos , change the livery its not the same to change the news locos. 185 and 146 its not a from the locos of 185 and 143 of the Rueg Route. This critical is constructive and I hope in the future the gays of Dovateli think like a railfan and not like only a sellers .... I wouldn't buy any add-on in the future , til see change , really change in news routes e new locos and contents , like we have in TS simulator. Its my opinion, if you desagree see in you tub the route released , in search of the you tube past the name of route more the words cab ride and see the scenery of the route released inside the cab of loco AC 193 to understand what I'm saying ..... Sorry folks, I hope you understand my comentary ...... There are parts of the route we never go there, we never have real simulation of load and unload fright trains, only in the Sand one situation and other in the UK route. In this actual game it´s not exiting to drive, great resolution its not that its a great game. We have many unnkwnowing creators for the all world giving to us exiting routes and locos and contents like we see in the game TS , that now have a excellent resolution with 64 bit...... sorry if some don´t agree but its my opinion like I said above.....

Tutorial can be completed now, however the same system depth as always. When Panto-Selector is on both and the Panto is selected up nothing happens. When closing the Main Circuit braker the Loco shows 15kV with the Panto still down... When then selecting a direction the Panto jumps up and the MCB shows closed Once again DTG, that is not how trains work. If you are a railfan and looking for a sim go for another one. If you want to take nice screenshots of trains you are right at home.

This is actually a really nice DLC, especially considering I got if for about €7. Road traffic, AI trains (at least in "Journey" mode), it's alive, pretty, runs well.

It's okay, though could do with a couple more scenarios, especially passenger-centric ones.

Played the tutorial, then started my first service. After a few minutes, got stuck at a red light indefinitely in spite of no traffic on the 2D map. Happens with DB86019 Aschaffenburg-Gemünden departure 09:57, probably others too, as DTG don't seem to believe in beta testing their products. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1694240143

The new MSB route has a number of interesting fetaures: - Roads are populated with cars, to mke the route more lively - The passenger trains hvae setable destination boards on the outside - Banking is used to push heavy freight trains up the steep 2.1% ramp - There a re moving cranes in the harbour region - Two new freight wagon types, a tank wagon and car transport wagon - Modernized double stock cars - There is a lot of traffic and a fair amount of variety. As a bonus, if you also own the RSN route you can drive the BR143. Maybe this is the most interesting feature. The BR143 cannot pull the heavy freight trains, so it is designed in a way that it will not show up for these trains. I think this makes the feature quite advanced and promising. Hopelfulley we will be able to use it in the content editing tools by ourselves as well. The route has a large harbour area which is not electrified. During the live stream Matt said there will be a diesel shunter in near future, though no details were given. For me these features make the route interesting. It all works reasobably well, thpugh with some freight trains I got stuck for a red signal. Especially the banking functions that also work for AI trains is interesting and shows again the capabilities of TSW. In the harbour area you can visit a number of backyards in first person mode. Unfortunately the nice view points that were added to RSN have not been repeated. What I reaslly miss is any freight shunting. Also the scenarios and tutorials are not particularly interesting.

Wonderful route with potential to get to speeds of 160km/h. The 185.2 has been reworked, just as the freight cars. Doing freight services is actually demanding now. The 146.2, although similar to the 185, does feel different to it. It's feels great to accelerate to 130 - 140 km/h a lot of the time and hear the sound of the 146, just to brake a few kiometres later. The moving cars on the roads and the new PIS ( train destination displays) result in a realistic feeling environment, potentially the most realistic as of now! What else is there to say? Oh yeah, if you own Ruhr-Sieg Nord the 143 from RSN will be substituted into MSB, which means it will appear in place of other locos and can be used in services in both passenger and freight. Besides that you can choose between the Railion and the DB Red livery for the 185. Current issues with the route: 2 wrong speed signs, stuck trains in service mode The latter of this is what bothers me at the moment, though this will be fixed in the near future, hopefully. Notice: this is by far not every service, just enough to make you feel frustrated when you pick one of few that do get stuck and you are 2 km ahead of your final destination... All in all visually very appealing route with nice scenery, great rolling stock -the little variation of the rolling stock is balanced by the accurate recreation of it. -->Better less rolling stock in total but more in-depth imo Recommended ! EDIT: DTG Hotfixed the service mode issue on the next day after it has been released, making this one of the best service modes so far. Busy route with lots of variations in what you encounter, especially freight
