It's a working, functional game. That much is a given, and there's surprisingly a whole lot of options and various game mechanics. However, it's functional in the sense that you can see the cheap parts and duct tape holding it together. Frequent glitches and crashes. Blatant AI portraits. Lots of cut-and-paste things from other games. Things like walls SOMETIMES work. Combat is not very intuitive and more relying in the numbers then praying you win. Not to mention some...shady practices you can quietly note in the background. I'd more recommend buying a better, more fleshed out city-builder game. I don't think people wanting that city-builder game experience will get that fulfillment here.

Great game, I'm a previous Banished player and was trying to scratch that itch, this does that. Play it.

the game is very unclear on what you need to survive, like at one point i see i need more fuel for my houses to remain warm, but the next second all of my citizens are starving to death and i couldnt handle everything in time to prevent it. theres also a very slim chance of recovering from mass starvation, when your laborers die its game over and you might just quit the game and start a new save. ive tried with 3 games already and each time ive been doing great so far, until one tiny mistake and everything falls apart. this game isnt balanced at all, i hope steam considers my refund request.

This is one of those settlement games where your progress is controlled by population growth. So you're stuck waiting forever for babies to grow up to be students and then adults. Especially early game. There are immigrants, but they are few and far between. If you're looking for a game to leave running for hours with little attention while you work, then maybe this one is for you. If you want to play a game where stuff happens and you can do things, then maybe give this one a miss.

It's a really fun game, worth every cent of the ~8 euro's I paid for it. But I would strongly suggest to the devs to get someone to look at the language. Now, English is not my mother's tongue either, so I certainly don't mind a mistake here or there, but this game has instances where I don't quite understand what the text is trying to tell me which can get confusing and sometimes even frustrating. Still, for 8 euro's; would buy again.

Love this kind of city building games, it's a bit confusing at first but I enjoyed this game and still learning a lot of it various mechanics. A bit hard to maintaining my citizen happiness and health at first but now its under control. Also this game is almost similar to Patron but with lot more options and production i assumed. Well, its a 'YES' for me and worth the money i paid for.

This is pretty good. I wish there was an easier/demo version for absolute beginners bc it took until my fourth world to make a village that will stay alive.

Do not buy this game. It is not working anymore and publishers do not reply to solve it.

Its ain easy, but one you figure out a good start, its pretty cool! Lots of different production chains to build if you want to make the game complex.

I might not be the target audience for this one. But, I found it kind of boring. I guess it has its place as a background game where you passively have this village running itself. for me, I ran into an issue with lumber early on and didn't quite have the drive or motivation to fix it. 3 hours in and I just didn't care to do much else beyond getting basic structures up. this one's a pass for me

Honestly leagues better than Banished or Patron. Everything seems to actually work, most importantly logistics work unlike in Patron, and this has a lot more options for production and goods . Haven't encountered a single bug or crash myself. I like the graphics a lot. Biggest gripes I guess would be that since there are so many options for production and goods, getting anything advanced requires a lot of population because you need an industry chain for everything. Though once you learn how to play the game and optimise the food production, you have access to more people for industry. And ultimately you'll eventually get to a point where the population starts to boom and you can do a lot more a lot faster. If you like Banished-like games, in my opinion this is the best one of them I've personally played so far.

This is my first city sim game and its pretty fun! It offers a very comprehensive tutorial and holds your hand through most scenarios and the tutorials can be removed at any time.

I was Skeptical at first but it is like banished but better. I think they could have relaxed the resource usage a little. And the Game could better with More realistic graphics. but altogther the base of the game is Great

Settlement Survival is a city-building survival game in the vein of Banished, with a heavy focus on resource management, population sustainability, and environmental challenges. You lead a group of settlers to build a thriving settlement from scratch, making critical decisions that influence your people’s well-being and long-term survival. The game offers a robust system of gathering, producing, and managing resources like food, clothing, medicine, and building materials. Balancing population growth with limited resources creates engaging tension without feeling punishing. You can tailor your experience with various difficulty settings, climate conditions, and map types. A comprehensive technology system gives purpose to long-term planning and helps settlements evolve over time. Dynamic events and trade with caravans add variety and keep gameplay from becoming too routine. The interface can feel cluttered or unintuitive for newcomers, and the tutorial is not very comprehensive. While functional, the graphics are rather plain and lack the polish or style seen in genre standouts. Once your town is stable, gameplay can become repetitive, lacking endgame challenges or narrative-driven goals. Settlement Survival is a thoughtful and satisfying city-builder for fans of the survival-management genre. While it doesn't break much new ground, it refines the formula established by games like Banished with deeper mechanics and more player agency. It may not be the most stylish or narrative-rich game, but it delivers a rewarding simulation experience, especially for strategic thinkers and long-term planners. A solid, detailed survival builder with great depth but a lack of late-game innovation.
