Overall: 👎 I would not recommend it. I like the idea of the game, but the puzzles generated from the random 3D models often look the same which its not very inspiring. For example, doing a "tiger" puzzle in the 3 different size (5x5, 10x10, 15x15), all 3 are the silhouette of a tiger looking right with legs and a tail on the left. There is no strips or empty tiles in it, just a big blob with all colored tiles. All quadruped animals look more of less the same. It's missing the intricacy, detail and fun of handcrafted puzzles. The lack of basic picross features, functionalities and options makes me feel like the devs have barely play other picross/nonogram game before. Positive +The concept is in theory cool. +A few Steam achievements to complete. Neutral/suggestions ~20 curated images ranging from 5x5 to 15x15 ~It would be nice to have an option to disable the yellow currently mouse over tile. I find the color interfering with the painted tile color. I would instead like to see the highlighted row and column better. ~I'm not sure about seeing a black version of the solved object before beginning a puzzle. It kind of give about the shape of the puzzle. ~The SFX and music slider are the original Unity gameobject. It would have been nice to modify them to fit the color of the theme a bit more at least. Negative -Curated puzzle are locked. You need to do them in sequence. I would prefer to try the one I like based on the grid size or the title. -I dont like that painted tiles erase x tiles and vice-versa. And there is no option to remove that behavior (make it so painted tiles does not override x tiles and vice versa). Because it is in the core game loop, it makes it annoying to solve puzzle. Example on a 10x10 grid: one column as 10 so you paint the whole column. The last 3 rows have a hint of 1, so you right click those rows to mark them with "x", but oh! What happen is the x erases the colored tiles! And now you need to fill those all over again, not fun 😞. Even painting a row erased the painted tiles from previous color (should not remove other colored tiles). -There is no drag and lock for a row or column. This mean, you need to be really precise in dragging to not accidentally changed row/column. -No option to auto-cross empty rows and columns. -No undo-redo button -No auto-pause when clicking on quit. -No divider by groups of 5 tiles. -No personalized icon for the game in the Windows task bar (default unity icon or something). -Not sure why, but I am not seeing the Steam achievements pops until I exit the game. -Bug: on the curated cactus flower puzzle, there is an "0" hint with the cross line above it instead of on it. -Bug: I got the achievement to complete all curated puzzle, but I was still missing I think 4 of them? Maybe it was supposed to be the "finger and toes - completed 20 puzzles" to pop instead. 🤔 -Why are the 15x15 grid divider grouped by 3? It is really odd. There should be an option to change it or set the default to 5 since most other picross are setup this way and the players are used to count in groups of 5.

I'm recommending this solely because it's a serviceable Picross game, although there are a few minor annoyances. 1. Controls are janky to say the least. One thing any Picross game needs is to just 'feel right'. Being able to complete a straight line while just swiping in a direction with the mouse. That is hit or miss here. Sometimes it'll miss a block or two if swiping too fast. Also, retreading lines reverses your actions. For example, if I know a whole column will be filled, it's possible to erase filled blocks by mousing over them again. So in other words, this game simply requires you to be more careful. 2. Maybe it's just me, but I don't like to have the description of the object(s) I'm making be laid out before I solve the puzzle and would rather it be a surprise. I find I have to focus on the bottom of the screen and just hit the 'play' button quickly if I don't want the spoiler. Again, not really a biggie, but an option would be nice to get rid of the description beforehand, such as is utilized in the unrelated puzzle game WooLoop. 3. The puzzles in the Endless mode are questionable at best. It is a nice feature, but in puzzle-solving mode, the Key that I selected certainly looked like no key I'd ever seen. These were my first impressions, and again, since it's a Picross game, I will finish at least the curated puzzles.

Super Picture Cross is an incredibly chill, rleaxed, soothing puzzler where you ask for a 3D model and it makes a 2D nonogram puzzle out of it - so cool 😎

Okay so I've never met anyone who doesn't like Picross (who I also like). This is a good Picross game. End of story!
