Controls can be frustrating at times but the story is really good, especially with it being told without words.

As someone who generally loves adventure games, Arise: A Simple Story initially charmed me with its beautiful storyline. However, the gameplay became a real drag, and it eventually led me to uninstall the game after Level 3. My biggest issue was how collecting items worked. If you missed something, you had to restart the entire level. This wouldn't be so bad, but the control feels sluggish, and you often have to cover huge distances. It turned looking for collectibles into a chore, not a fun challenge. Spoilers Ahead!
For example, in Level 3, a recent patch changed how you climb. Instead of a solid platform, you now have to balance on a shaky wooden trunk. With the character's slow movement, this section became super frustrating and annoying, especially for someone like me who tries to get everything.
While the story is touching, be ready for a very slow pace that might test your patience, especially if you, like me, like to find every secret.

Games like Arise come along and show how the medium is truly an art form when the right studio is at the helm. Hats off to Piccolo Studio as they knocked it out of the park.

A beautiful, emotional journey that left a strong impression on me. I'm especially fond of the art style — it's painterly, whimsical, and perfectly complements the tone of the game. The OST is another standout, gently guiding you through moments of joy, sorrow, and reflection. The puzzles are simple, but they’re not the point — they’re more about pacing and feeling than challenge. They keep you engaged without ever getting in the way of the story. Speaking of which, the narrative is quietly powerful. It’s a story we’ll all face eventually: life, love, and loss. And Arise tells it with grace. This isn’t a game that tries to overwhelm you with mechanics or complexity. It’s about pausing, feeling, and remembering what it means to live. Live, love, laugh, everybody — and maybe cry a little too.

It was a fun puzzle game, with a nice story. it has very creative way of how they did the levels and the story telling. There are moments when the game is kinda annoying, but at the same time still enjoyable. I would give this game 8/10 beautiful art and music, mainly it the moments when the game gets annoying but also the ending it wasn't bad, but it could have been better. But I definitely would recommend.

This game perfectly tells the story of life's beauty, dreams, disappointments, heartbreaks, and everything in between. A sheer masterpiece in hitting you in the feels. This game will forever stick with me.

I have no words, just like this game. From the Graphics, to the Music, to the Mechanics, it is polished through and through. A loveletter to gaming and storytelling. If you have 4 hours, spend them playing this. It is worth every penny and a wonderful journey.

At first, I was unsure if I was enjoying Arise. The time manipulation mechanic is cool, but controlling the old man himself feels clunky and cumbersome. But as I got into the later levels, I began to appreciate it a lot more. I understood that the format of the game was meant to tell a story, and it does that really well. I was emotionally invested big time as I reached the end. Then I tried to get the achievements. I’m sorry, but challenge runs do not suite a game like this. The game is a vehicle for delivering its story, but the gameplay itself is really nothing special, and becomes quite un-fun when you push it in this way. Even so, this is a great little game and it’s worth playing. 7/10

Nice gameplay revolving manipulating time. The heartfelt story is told in images accompanied with subtle piano music.

Very relaxing game! The soundtrack is beautiful, and pairs so well with the story. The game itself is pretty simple, running and jumping but the time mechanic is something new for me so that was fun

Awkward camera and wonky controls make jumping really hard. And you can't even repeat a level to find the missing memories. I gave up after one level. And what's with the weird fat child statues? Next to the aged character they look especially strange.

Fantastic litlle 3D platformer with gorgeous graphics. Finding all the memories was not necessary for completion, but very enjoyable. The story although quite short was very emotional. Buy this game now!

This game is amazing it takes you through life and grief. My favorite part of the game is not the story the game tells but the story the music tells. This game is a master piece of art, music, and story. thank you developers.
