This has got to be the coziest game I've ever played. -The game has a lot of "rule of cool" in it's narrative, freeing up the story to be silly and engaging. -The diverse representation from the colorful roster of characters is a breath of fresh air. Each is their own independent person, and the overall population in Calico feels like the most real thing in this magical game. -Customization of character and your cat cafe seems simple at first, but has a lot of potential for those seeking fun and unique options. -The overall arc of the gameplay experience has an easy going, no pressure pace. I loved cozy games like Stardew Valley, but always felt the frantic need to maximize production every day. I enjoy that kind of play, but I really to a lot of satisfaction with the ability to take my time with Calico. -The UI, Interface, and menu-ing was very well designed, starting the game and jumping in with my controller was seamless and smooth. -When I first played Calico, the food mini games were neat, but felt lacking. Ever since they updated them they have been incredible goofy fun. I think my only desire would be to play again on some mode where running that cafe and managing the resources of food etc was a bit more pressing, it kinda felt like I could just make something and then not need to make it again. -With all of my glowing review here, I do have to acknowledge the jank in the game. While most of the time silly, it can get in the way of the flow from time to time. Sometimes there will be a struggle to execute certain actions, and some of the furniture arrangement actions were frustrating for the designer in me. -I'd recommend this game as an approachable cozy game for people of all ages, there are many functions to make the experience more accessible for players with a wide range of limitations. So go inherit your retiring witchy Aunt's cat Cafe, make some friends, finds some cute animals, and get your own Calico adventure started ASAP!

This game is a lot of fun! It honestly feels a little bit like a fever dream - riding a giant red panda with a baby polar bear on my head, cooking goodies using ingredients bigger than I am, etc. I wasn't sure how to feel about the game at first, but I'm glad I gave it a chance because it's very cute in it's own weird and quirky way. Definitely recommend! :)

It's a cute game, but it feels rather stiff. The camera work is frustrating, the movement is awkward, the NPCs are uncomfortable as in the intro there was no movement from any of them. The speaking is odd too as my characters speech looked like it wasn't coming from the character. I really didn't feel pulled in to continue the game. I was expecting more heart in the game, I guess. It feels unfinished. Maybe should have stayed in early access longer, but maybe it just isn't the game for me.

A very cute but overall simple game. I love that there are so many animals and unique characters. I also enjoy the amount of clothes and decorations you can get. The world is a little bare but overall a fun game!

This game is so awesome I went and collected all the crows and the black kitties and made the cutest spookiest cafe <3 I really enjoyed it and it makes me so happy. One of the best feel good low stress games I have ever played. Thank you for making it.

Very relaxing, very cute, but feels like early-access. I still enjoyed my time with this game and completed it 100%, but I would only get it on sale.
