This Strange Realm Of Mine

While the actual shooter gameplay isnt bad and has some legitimately satisfying moments, too much of this game is long sequences of introspective fake deep philosophy. I can tell the dev was probably going through something when they made this and while i wouldnt say everything they talk about is wrong its just all such surface level interpretation that it feels like a waste listening to all the dialogue while the npcs talk at you.

It's definitely a great and unique experience, a gaming arthouse if you please. A journey through your mind to shape yourself. Gameplay is ok considering the game length, but it's not ok to replay and explore it more, so one ending for me only. And it's actually sad if some beautiful content is hidden behind 10 hrs of repetitive not so good gameplay of getting 4 other endings. Also don't miss the rat on your first playthrough! I did, and I've never heard his poems :c

The game from the trailer showed to be like a Doom style shooter, with some silly mini-games interspersed. What it didn't show was the weird philosophical dialogue that is a large portion of the game. And even the Doom part isn't really that interesting. Shoot things in the head/melee them in the head until they die. Like literally zero nuance to the game-play. The philosophical part is way too preachy as well. Like if I wanted to attend philosophy class at my local college, I would do just that. Also, after playing for about 2 hours, I am pretty sure (based on the screenshots of the game) I was literally near the end of the game. Now on sale for $0.99, sure I'm sure SOMEONE out there will appreciate this. But not for me.
