The only reason to hate this game/series is how much the milk their players. Would recommend you play this game without a doubt, but wait for sales for DLC (episode aigis). Hell, wait for a sale for the base game too. Its not worth that price and shame on Atlus/Sega for running what was essentially a money grab with what was promised/what was given. Preordered the 100$ premium edition back when it first opened, being a huge persona fan and this being one of the two I had never experienced, and watching all the stuff about it on YouTube and whatnot I was crazy excited for this. When the game got closer to coming out and they finally admitted that, no even though you spent 100$ you would need to spend another 40$ for the ONLY dlc for this game, but you'll get a whole bunch of worthless costumes and ruin the experience personas from past games, it was a slap in the face. This game is phenomenal. They did a great job with the remaster. The art style, the music, the npcs, the story. Its great. BUT, its a remaster. Its not a new persona game, so why they felt the need to lock the ONLY playable DLC behind ANOTHER paywall is ridiculous. To openly charge 70$, and the other editions being 80$ for a soundtrack and art book (all available online if you want it), and 100$, with nothing more than maybe a total of 15 (i didn't count but you get the picture) extra personas is just so sad. Atlus AND Sega know that people love these games, and knew that (myself included) most people would be dumb enough to assume "DLC PACK" would mean Episode Aigis AND the bonus personas. It has genuinely ruined my stance on them as a company, not so much to where ill never play anything from them or anything that dramatic, but more that i feel they are taking a bad step in the wrong direction with pricing/how they release their content... and i hope with P4R they dont make the same mistakes they made in this game (luckily i dont remember OG p4 having playable DLC so hopefully it'll be a remaster of the ages), at the very least, fans should be VERY WARY of preorders and should wait to see EXACTLY what content is put in their most expensive editions, as in this economy of gaming, you never know what they might pull in regards to what they plan to put in them. I know i'm late writing this review, maybe i already wrote one when the game dropped i really don't remember, and i know the complaints about the money grab and how scummy their tactics were have already come and gone. But i wanted to be sure to write this out just to remind any/everyone of what they pulled and to be cautious. Note- I do have a job and don't really have crazy time to constantly check for sales, but i have YET to buy episode aigis on the simple fact that its not worth the price they are asking from what i've seen. But everytime i check its STILL so expensive and annoys me every time.

I have only good things to say about this game, from this being my first ever persona game I had it recommended it to me by a wonderful friend to get me into the franchise. After around 160 hours I can for sure say this game has had a significant impact on me as a person. The combat is fantastic, even if Tartarus can be super repetitive, I didn't mind it too much. Some of the social links can be a dread, the majority of them are fine and show amazing character. Overall this game has just simply been a blast to play (and listen to) and I can only give it high praise. PLEASE PLAY IT, IT IS OVER 100% WORTH IT!

As much as I pretend to like Persona 3, I have to admit it falls short in just about every way. It's almost a shame that there are some super convenient quality of life features and neat improvements to the Persona formula, as hating the game would be more satisfying than being disappointed with its wasted potential. + The combat is only 1 or 2 steps down from P5, so it's still good + The animations look great when they're trying to + The menus are unusually responsive, despite how good they also look / Maybe the best music in the series, except for the Tartarus exploration ones - they are boring for way too long. There's a couple other irritating ones that play constantly. - It's too expensive, and the dlc (especially if it's as bad as everyone says) should've been $0 instead of $35. - My god, the social links are horrible. They've never been great, but I think every single one was aggravating and lifeless. - Interactions with party members are the weakest in the series by a long shot. They are repetitive and robotic on a level I have never seen before. Everyone is a generic placeholder for 98% of their lines. - P3 is where the worst tropes from the other games came from: the beach episode, the hot springs, the girl who can't cook, and all the obligatory, pervy anime filler is here! Not even one crumb of humor or creativity exists in any of these. Even when it's just regular filler, it's a shameful waste of time. - Most people seem to think that Tartarus sucks, and I have to agree. There are a few good fights, but running around randomized empty mazes fighting the same enemies gets boring at hour 5 of like 50. It's a rare instance where I had to multitask to get through it. - As for story, there isn't one until it's almost over. The few things that happen are surprisingly decent, though.

P3 will always have a very special place in my heart, and while this remake could never be expected to fully replicate the original's grit and rough edges that made it so iconic, it still does a great job at recreating it with some fresh ideas and modern gameplay sensibilities. It's undeniably a love letter to P3 and for that it should be celebrated.

Gorgeous visuals, revamped combat that feels good, and a soundtrack full of absolute bangers. But more than that, it hits you in the heart. My soul died in Tartarus and I ain't even mad.

TL;DR - Be patient, and you are in for a treat of a story that you may find unforgettable once you finish the game :) My favourite game of all time. Would not trade this experience for anything in this life. There is some profound storytelling at play that really surprises you at many points along the way. All I ask to anyone playing this is to be patient and let the game's writing take you to where it wants to go. You won't be disappointed if you approach it with an unassuming perspective. This game has so much to tell you about life itself through its story (both main and social links) which explores death and the effects it can have on people. The characters and their voice acting (EN) are done very well, carrying such flair at parts and graceful in others. I cant pick any one best character because they were all written with a good sense of depth (assuming you go through the social links and linked episodes carefully. If you miss any, just look them up online. You wont be disappointed) The gameplay and combat is flashy, and can get repetitive to those who may not play very many JRPGs - But it was fun for me who took extra time to grind out levels (Note: Im a completionist. Grinding levels is totally unnecessary if you want to approach the game casually. Just climb to the highest possible floor each time and you'll be just fine) I barely felt the length of time playing this game because there's so much going on that its always keeping you occupied. No game ive played has done this in the past 100% of the time.

P3R looks and sounds amazing. But the god damn gameplay sucks. Running around doing the same boring school routine every day. Climbing Tartarus until your eyes glaze over after floor 50. And don't even get me started on the romance - you could max out a relationship and the game still treats you like strangers in the main story.

8 Peak Game [First Persona Game] Main Issues:1:Game and boss fights feel to easy on HARD mode [didn't want to play on Merciless since it was my first Persona game this might help] the ease made the main dungeon feel bloated and more of a chore ruining the flow for me at times boring me. 2:The start of the game is very overwhelming their is many things to do like raising your stats and talking to people i felt like i didnt have enough time for everything THIS DID NOT HAPPEN ALL GAME [the game gives you plenty of time just felt like alot of pressure] happy i continued [just first time with a calendar system]. Things i liked: The music is amazing it had a great vibe all game would just sit in the school vibing was great in many scenes especially the ending, the social links where great i like most of them and enjoyed the dialogue for a few in particulate and their themes , THE ENDING was great i feel games are defined by the ending more so than the way they start and the middle the ending is the defining moment for me , and this game lands one of the best for sure the theme is phenomenal and its message for life is perfect. 8/10 PEAK MUST PLAY

For the first time i bought a game without any regret and coercion. Persona 3 Reload is a game that really sticks in my heart, its rich story, full of sadness and laughter makes me feel like this game is really worth playing. When i finished this game, it made me cry like why did the game have to end even though it can be played again from the beginning.

I love this game its great and the cast is like a more serious versions of the persona 5 one. Even though persona 5 is better and reload took a lot of what made the original persona 3 special away its still great but the only down side is that I have to pay for some fuckass DLC that is 30 fucking pounds to get all the achievements and to fight joker from persona 5

This game is absolutely amazing. The characters are so well written and getting to spend time with them over social links is really fun (some of the social links i didn't enjoy but the good ones make up for it!) The fighting is fun too, but the story is my favourite part!! The story is so good thooooo, highly reccomend playing it :D

Persona 3 Reload is the definitive version of Persona 3. It greatly improves upon what was in the original and FES. I was able to get far more time out of this game than I did FES and the experience was far more enjoyable. The story is fantastic and greatly expands upon the characters in the original. The graphics are fantastic but can look odd sometimes. The game-play can be dull at times especially during the final month of the game. The music is amazing and is certainly the best in the series. I highly recommend this game to everyone.

Easily the best social links in the series, probably also the best story but gameplay falls short to Persona 5. If you plan on getting all social links maxed make sure to only do Hierophant, moon & star on days you have no one else to hang out with. A shame 8 achievements are locked behind the overpriced expansion pass.

If you've never played Persona 3 portable on Steam this is definitely the way to go. However, if you played P3P and you enjoyed the female protagonist Kotone's route more...then you are going to be disappointed. This game is more of a "remaster" than a remake where really the only real change is the graphical update and a couple QOL features here and there. The social links in the femprotag route were much better and the fact that Tartarus is still an annoying slog doesn't change from P3P. Therefore while I recommend this one to new players, I think old players, especially those who are fans of the female route, are going to be disappointed for the price tag. Definitely get it when it's on sale.

I love this game I have never played a persona game prior to this one and was thinking that I wasn't going to like this game but now I have finished the main game once, I'm going to start the DLC shortly after this review and I also want to replay the game (might hold that off until after my friends play it). The start of the game is slow, it is a bit of trudge to get through. It's worse when you don't understand the importance of social links and the value of time as well but then, after the summer finishes everything starts to change pace a bit. Suddenly you're focused on the story, the characters, you have a grasp of the mechanics, you understand time, and you know what you are doing. Before this point of the game I was playing the game for maybe 8 hours a week but at this point? I'm playing the game for about 6-10 hours a day. This game hooked me in and hooked me well, I didn't realise how much I was going to enjoy the story, the writing, the symbolism, it's all brilliant, and with the style and art style of the game as well: the colours, the monsters, the animation, the characters, and most importantly the music. This game was the only thing I could think about for a short while and I will most likely remember this game for a long time, as it's changed how I view life and what I want to do in life. If you are even slightly considering to try this game I recommend playing the demo first, I didn't even finish the demo and I bought the game. This game will always have a soft spot in my heart, like the first time I played Yakuza 0 on Xbox (which had me feel a similar way to this game). Final thoughts: Yes I recommend this game

Persona 3 Reload is what happens when you take an older title and tweak it to make it a better masterpiece. It's presentation is unmatched when it comes to the JRPG genre, so many cool characters, locations, and styles live and breath inside this game. The turn based combat is super fluid and genius, with characters constantly shifting, stat buffs/debuffs, critical hits and weak points, healing, the theurgy gauge, constant feedback to the player, it's as smooth as butter. The story and characters are where it really hits though, there is hardly anyone in this game to dislike aside from the villains, I loved nearly everyone here and yes, P3R will make you cry a bit, your friendships matter! I will admit though the game has a small problem and it's when you stop unlocking things and have to grind a bit more to get certain personas, at one point I felt like I was constantly getting much newer things the longer I played then when it hit hour 70 of total playtime, I realized the endgame grind was coming on strong. That second-to-last Tartarus block was a bit long for me especially when I felt a bit overpowered and couldn't get any new weapon shop items or couldn't get any new personas because I got them all in that block. This section could have been trimmed a bit. Another small, and I mean minuscule, issue is actually an optional fight that was nearly impossible to beat because I didn't get a specific arcana max rank on a specific character. Elizabeth is one of the most bulls*it bosses I ever faced, she basically cheats the entire fight, getting multiple turns, switching personas (which switches persona buffs/debuffs), you can't use any personas that have elemental reflect/block abilities on certain turns for her. Doing so will allow her to negate your damage output, insta-healing her, and then insta-killing you. I quit after 2 hours and decided to just finish the game, making that request list incomplete and me unsatisfied. So whatever you do, max out the Star arcana and get the Armageddon persona for this fight. And bring a calculator in real life, you are gonna need it. All that aside, it's a masterpiece. It's my favorite Persona game ever, it packed in so much fun content, an incredible story with emotional depth and amazing gameplay to top it all off.

I'm still relatively new to the persona universe having only played Persona 5 and it's DLCs before this, but I can confidently say this was my favorite so far. Aside from the incredible soundtrack and even more in depth social links, the story behind this game is just, wow. The remastered gameplay is much more modernized and easy to handle compared to most RPGs I've played (even compared to Persona 5 royal), and the normal fights/boss fights still maintained quite the challenge. The ending was tragically beautiful and while I'm still sad about it, it made complete sense for the message behind the game. If you're new to persona like I am, I recommend playing this version first as it does a great job of introducing you to what the persona universe is about and has the easiest mechanics so far. I am 100% going to go back and try to make this game one of my first completionist games. And I am looking forward to soon playing the remastered P4 and P6 whenever it comes out :D

I was sceptical after experiencing Persona 5 Royal and thought, it could not be topped. But Atlus made some very good quality of life changes to the original Persona 3 and with the graphic overhaul of the game, made this one of the best entries in the Persona series. The flow of the game is good and not to much lifesim style, way better than P5R. And Tartarus has been updated to meet modern gaming standard, without unnecessary mechanics to slow you down. Recommended game, especially if you are new to the series, this is a much better start into the series than P5R

This game is a great remake of persona 3, although it lacks many things it is a very enjoyable game with the social links and gameplay. I had a great time playing but I disliked tartarus so much. Can't really blame the game for this as this was 2006 but climbing up 200+ floors doing the same thing drains you so fast. Overall the Social Links are really fun but Tartarus will get boring real fast.

Persona 3 Reload is a really good remake and liking some of the addition things to do at the game like the interactions with your friends at the dorm after school since in the original, not much activity to do in the evening besides going to Tartarus or bonding social links from only 2 people at night. The visual is fantastic just like persona 5 and is really a big improvement especially from the original's visual and graphics at the time which really shows better than just making it a remaster like Atlus did when they made Persona 4 golden which is good and maybe someday to also get a remake for new visual than just small size/chibi character design when playing the game. Music is great and do like Azumi Takahashi's cover. Full Moon Full Life is a good song for an opening, I mean it makes the theme of the game less dark but overall a great soundtrack. The story is mainly the same as the original but for some reason the theme of the game seems to be less dark or situation is not a dire like somehow everyone becomes close friends so easily with less conflict with each other or the tension especially since it seems to have less emotional impact when comparing it from the original game or even the movies. Other than that, the story from beginning to end is mainly the same.

I bought persona 3r thinking it would be a good turn based game. Instead I got a storytelling masterpiece with memorable characters, an insanely good soundtrack (like seriously almost every song is landing straight into my playlist) a really fun combat system and way too much time lost making a busted persona. At first the social links seemed like a bunch of regular characters but once you spend more time with them, all their stories seem like something taken straight out of real life. I genuinely cannot describe how emotional I got when the ending credits rolled in. I am not even glazing at this point this game changed something in me. Honestly my only issues with the game is that there aren't many activites to do in the evening, I wish there were more social links to be done at that time. Maybe that was just me but I didin't have anything to do in the last month of the game. Also tartarus gets a little boring at one point but its not that big of an issue to make me not replay the game again (or just don't do all the floors in one night as soon as a new path opens like me) With that said I cannot recommend persona 3 reload enough, give it a try when the game is on sale, trust me you will not regret it!

Persona 3 Reload brings new life to one of the most important entries in the series, and it absolutely delivers. The main game is fantastic—beautifully modernized with updated visuals, improved combat, and quality-of-life features that make the entire experience smoother without losing the heart of the original. The story leans darker than later entries in the series, and that tone adds real weight to your journey. It’s emotional, thought-provoking, and often hits harder than expected. The characters are strong, and their growth across the narrative makes the experience feel personal and meaningful. While Episode Aigis is a nice addition for lore and closure, it doesn’t quite match the pacing or emotional high points of the main game. It’s fine—not bad, just not as compelling. Overall, Persona 3 Reload is a must-play for fans of the series or anyone new to the franchise. It’s a great RPG with soul, style, and depth—and a worthy remake of a classic.

Had to heavily mod the game with a reshade to fix the over saturation and gamma settings + put the older soundtrack in, but overrall the experience is amazing. I love the new gameplay mechanics and just how everything feels. The option for dual audio of course means im not stuck with a shitty english dub who decided Ken should be voiced by someone who isnt even trying to sound like a child presumably because they dont know how to sound like one.
