Super fun! Let me explain what to expect while playing.
At the start, the game is very slow, and hard, but it gets better towards the second mission/level. The action speeds up and you find yourself pressing buttons, aiming weapons, using skills, and more. When your not playing as one of your soliders, they fight themselves, and are very smart. For example, the sniper moves back to avoid getting hurt while also shooting from long-distances. There are no other modes besides the story mode. Maybe there will be some kind of endless mode in the future. You can pick each of your soliders weapons once you get them. They can also be upgraded. The graphics are also nice.
Overall, this game IS a tactical squad shooter. Even if it may not look like one.

One of the best games I've played for 0.22eur (sale). Achievements are quite difficult and require you to grind a bit to make your characters stronger. Also has trading cards. Recommended

Great game here with huge potential. However modest in design, this game shows immense creativity in both the artwork and story line; with fights that are fun and interactive with a bit of a "Castle-Crasher's" feel to it, though a touch more tactical.

This review utilizes the Early 2000's Gamespot Score System:
Gameplay: 5, I was entertained in the early game, but fights took too long, and the final boss was a slog
Graphics: 6, Serviceable, but relatively bland. The enemy designs were fun.
Sound: 4, I literally cannot recall any of the audio in this game, but it wasn't offensive
Value: 8, I bought this game for $0.49, played for about an hour before credits. A cent a minute isn't bad.
Tilt: 5, I feel this game is pretty "eh"
Overall: 5.3 - "meh"

I will admit that I bought this game primarily because it was on sale for under a dollar. At first glance it looked a bit like Metal Slug which I liked, and yes it does sort of play like Metal Slug, but where in that series you have one soldier deployed instead of 3. And the actual soldiers themselves each with different strengths and weaknesses provides numerous possible combinations for playthru. It is much more difficult than it looks, but that isn't a bad thing the challenge it provides actually makes the game that much better. It is a bit on the short side however, so heres hoping for DLC.

It's a short game but I had fun the whole time I played it. It starts a bit slow but then it picks up speed and becomes even more enjoyable

Kinda okay if you need to spend some time with low PC requirements. Remember, Each step on a planet is full of dangers and soldiers really need your OC skills and abilities.

Very fun 2D Tactical Shooter,
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You control your squad by either double clicking where you want them to move to or by controlling an individual member (you can switch between them by pressing the num keys or scrolling the mouse wheel).
The squad automatically attack enemies when not controlled and move back and forth as necessary (Snipers moving to the back, etc.).
You also have access to three main skills: The first of which freezes enemies, the second shields a squad member, and the third calls in a drone to fight alongside you.
There are several diffrent squad members to choose from and each have their own abilities and weapons, so choosing the right characters for the job adds an extra layer to the fun. You may also pick up upgrades for squad members and unlock new weapons for them.
The enemies are rather interesting and several pose a challenge, so you will need to use all the skills available to you.
There are three different difficulty levels to choose from if you find the game too difficult or two easy, although I find the default difficulty to be just right.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Definitely recommend this game to anyone who is even slightly interested.
Can't wait to see it in its final form.

Diverse bosses
The level up items of the game were interesting
But the game was very short and ended in less than 3 hours

Very cute, graphics were nice, smooth gaameplay, was a lot more challenging than I was expecting. Interesting semi-casual (Or so you think) little squad shooter. 7 mercs to choose from with varying skills, pretty good control layout. Easy to learn, stat increases seems a little shady, maybe I just don't know how it works yet. Overall a very very good itle game even at full price. Both me and my son approved and enjoy playing it. Good enough to make you keep wanting to level up the various mercs. Warning though, it is a bit more challenging than you'd think and no where near as easy at it looks. But that's a good thing.

Tedious and terrible game. Have the designers even played it themselves?
The first few levels are sort of ok --- nothing thrilling but no big issue. With 1hr into the game the levels suddenly get none-sense. The one you see on the screen shots that is fighting the bugs in a swamp is basically walking-backwards-and-left-clicking for a dozen minutes because the bugs are freakingly tough and slow. The other one that you drive a tank to fight an eyeball spider is a dumb copy of angry-birds --- except that you don't see your trajectory before shooting, both you and the spider is moving and that there is no way you can dodge the spider's attack. Oh, and there are three of them, coming out one by one, followed by a boss whose attack you cannot dodge, neither.

It is a correct flash-like 2D scroll shooter with interesting gameplay mechanics but it is too expensive for its content.

Planet R-12 is a somewhat unusual hybrid of 2D side scrolling shooter and RTS where you control a squad of soldiers and move them around, letting them autoshoot stuff and sometimes using special abilities if you feel like micromanaging them. It's a concept that might even have worked well if it was backed by a quality technical implementation. Planet R-12 does not have a quality technical implementation. There's a kitcshy sci-fi robot whatever theme that's badly expressed and badly translated to English, so we'll give that component of the game a miss.
One important note is that even though this is an amateur project, it does seem to be sincerely and genuinely made. I couldn't find any flipped assets, plagiarism or any other kind of insincere actions from the developer, but unfortunately genuine intentions alone are not enough to produce a brilliant PC gaming experience.
From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard.
The artwork here is terrible, it's a hodge-podge of amateurish "My First Wacom Tablet" style drawings used instead professional looking game assets. In some places it barely looks better than MS-paint. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget to arrange someone who can create graphical assets properly, or lack of talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low, enough on its own to deter gamers.
There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision.
It's apparent that little to no testing for the game was done, at least on modern gaming PCs. In fullscreen, the game doesn't display properly, with the game area drawn outside the viewable space. This is caused by the developer not bothering to ensure the game works on resolutions over 1080p, with very high resolution monitors that use resolution scaling. Because the game area is not drawn correctly, it doesn't map to the mouse pointer properly, so the game itself simply cannot be played. Gamers shouldn't be forced to accept defective products just because developers don't bother with basic testing on PC.
Some of the defects in the game can be attributed to the choice of using the video game toolset, ZenGL. This is a very poor quality toolset, it's not even that easy to use, and thus rarely gets used in lieu of even more dumbed down construction kits like GameMaker Studio. Also, unfortunately, it has very limited capabilities. Just as you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear, you can't make a great video game if you use a terrible engine.
These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game.
You don't have to take my word about how bad the game is, we can measure the interest in a game by how much people bothered to play it. Planet R-12 has achievements, and they show us a very clear picture that the game absolutely failed to capture any interest from gamers. The most commonly and easily attained achievement is for getting to the end of the first level, trivial to achieve, but less than 3 percent of players bothered to get that far before uninstalling the game. That's a tiny, tiny proportion of gamers who even bothered with this. Ouch.
Reviewing SteamDB to check how popular this game was with players reveals a surprise... there's a very healthy spike in player counts for the game. But this isn't consistent with the achievement stats, that show less than 3 percent of players bothered playing the game for any reasonable amount of time. How is it possible for this game to have so many concurrent players who didn't bother engaging with this game? Trading cards. People will use card idling software to collect the cards and sell them, but this won't trigger any achievements in-game.
That tells us people only really bought this game for trading cards, and that's a damning indictment of the woeful quality. A closer look at the numbers shows the game just has a couple of players every week running up the game and idling it for cards, then deleting it. We must ask how it benefits gamers for there to be so many games like this, with no merit as a serious game, that only generate sales from people idling and selling the trading cards.
While this is cheap, it's not great. There's worse value for money buying an cheap game you won't play for more than 5 minutes versus a more expensive AAA game that you'll get hundreds of hours of enjoyment from.

Game mechanics are really good and imaginative. The way you control your party and the ability to pick your team members adds a lot what is already very competent and solid side scroller. It is short but for the price the game is definately worth it. Very fun and hope to see more like this.
