Fierce Tales: The Dog's Heart is an extraordinary game with intriguing ideas behind it. Instead of trying to find a compatible heart for his dying son, Dr. Dean makes a bold action and transplants a heart that does not belong to the human world. What would a father do to save his child's life? How far can a parent go to keep their child among the living? These are interesting questions that will hit you hard in this story. I must confess, I even thought of Frankenstein at one point.
Other interesting questions are of social nature: Why do people judge the ones that are different? Why do society shuns such individuals? Why do humans think it's the different one to blame when they turn against humanity? They just want to find love and respect; these that humans didn't show them, didn't offer them. Yes, this story has these important question behind it.
I like games with important questions, not just the action and the adventure. I will show you now a list of advantages and disadvantages that I've found along the way.
PROS:
- Awesome scenery;
- Music may be repetitive, but it's marvelous and fitting;
- Story is incredible;
- Various mini-games;
- In the Bonus chapter you get to play as Ashton Dean, the resurrected son;
- Journal entries;
- Fast-travelling map.
CONS:
- Repetitive hidden objects;
- You may have to click a couple of times to take an object during HO scenes;
- At some points in the game you can't figure where to go or what to do (Hint helps);
- No trading cards;
- No achievements.
In conclusion, I recommend this game. It's such a delight to see dogs and Frankenstein mixed together. If you wonder what's the next game to play, here is a gem. You won't be disappointed.
