Valkyria Chronicles 4 - Expert Level Skirmishes

First mission you have to get Hafen through tank hell to win. Second mission, you have to get infantry through a maze of hostiles to capture the enemy base before half a dozen lancers breakthrough barriers overwhelming your base. Third mission, you only get Claude + two other units and one of them has to make it to the escape. It's not very far, but it's very well defended and you can't reinforce. I grinded on this map to get some achievements (especially leveling grenadiers). Fourth mission, attacked from all sides and you need to capture the enemy base to the south. Much easier said than done. Fifth mission, there's three camps and you need to capture them all. Enemy units are actually kind of sparse so this one may actually be the easiest in the DLC. Sixth mission, capture all camps again but it'll literally start raining men making it much more difficult than normal. Their units also seemed to do a lot of damage to mine.

This is post-game content that adds 9 expert level skirmishes and 3 challenge skirmishes to the game. This also comes with new squad members and squad stories after beating certain skirmishes. These skirmish battles are much more challenging than everything else in the game, but not so difficult as to demand one have good luck to win. Most of them are extremely straight forward, but some of them have gimmicks like an increased damage modifier and unique objectives. The skirmishes get much easier as one progresses through them as A-ranking them gives huge rewards that make it easier to fully level classes and fully upgrade equipment.

So I've been playing these Skirmishes for quite some time as I was both chasing after an achievement (though turns out, the one I was missing had nothing to do with this DLC, nor any) and to get some of the best weapons possible and now I've got a mortor so powerful that it has only 1 shot in it! Anyway, this gives you 6 extremely difficult skirmish maps. Recycled from the campaign like the other skirmish maps, however all the enemies are Paragon level (Max after the game), better stats and up tiered weapons that are more powerful than those in the campaign, making even your tankiest characters get shot down fairly quickly. Just finishing the level gives you a weapon too that's unique to the DLC, but is a federation one whilst the weapons that the aces have are pretty devastating in the right hands. Well worth DLC that'll give you many hours of replyable fun and attempting to get an A is a challenge, even if you have the OP characters since you have a limited number of command points.

The game crashes when I try to save or load during these missions. This has never happened to me outside this dlc.

Hard as hell but still fun to play them when you want more VC in your life.

Recommended for those seeking a challenge. It won't be easy . . .
