The first match I played I was in a match with a bunch of screaming russians on my team as the vietcong 10/10 totally historically accurate gameplay, worth every penny.

A perfect blend between realism and arcade, paired with the best sound design I've heard from any FPS. All weapons are super accurate and deadly, so the time to kill is practically non-existent. Balance is great, even with the two opposing teams having completely different mechanics and weapon choices. Highly recommended if you like "hardcore" or "tactical" shooters but don't want to get into milsim titles like ARMA or Squad.

Very good game. Make me remember the days I climbed the trees, hidden in the grass and tunnels in military training a few years ago. Approved by certificated Vietcong

My favorite Vietnam war game probably ever. It's got some unique semi-realistic elements that make it more strategic than most FPS. Best enjoyed when roleplaying as your faction. If you're North, the enemy is "GI", if you're South, the enemy is "Charlie", or alternately as AUS, "C**t" For a while the anticheat didn't work on linux, and I was sad. But it got fixed and now I'm very happy!

Always goes on sale well worth it at full price though, reminds me a lot of how battlefield used to be, though it does have its moment sometimes where you can’t play it

Instantly one of my favorite shooters. The game is super immersive and even when i dont perform well, something funny happens or i just get caught up in the map. I was a little worried about reviews saying the game was dead. It isnt yet, there are a few servers with pretty much full lobbies. Like i will be the last player to fill it up. If this makes no sense, i mean to say you can still play and enjoy this game. DO NOT PLAY ON MEGA SERVERS.

Definitely one of my favorite shooters of all time. I've been playing it since it was in early access. It is by no means perfect, but I love that it rewards knowing how to properly maneuver and use cover and is not simply about your reflexes and accuracy. That being said, there is a major learning curve that comes with it. My biggest gripe is that I feel like this game partially led to the death of Red Orchestra 2 and Rising Storm, which I personally thought were more fun. It is important to note that while this game is by NO MEANS dead, it does not have quite the player count (and perhaps more importantly the number of servers) that it used to. If you are like me and prefer specific game modes (Multiplayer Campaign servers for me), you only have a few options of servers and will probably have to wait in queues fairly often.

Fun experience for an older game. Community has great servers with servers still at full capacity making it a match worth your time.

Simulates real war perfect, can hardly see enemies even on a 34 inch monitor, every corner you go around you die, this experience is unlike any other i promise you, you'll be extremely lucky to get a kill, find cover and stay there and pray, if you love dying a tremendous amount of times to get even one kill then you'll be right at home with this game. there is no skilled based match-making so prepare to be in the same lobbies as the RS 2 veterans who will snipe you in a moments notice or who are familiar with which corners to hold to see us newbs coming, for that the kills you do happen to get by the grace of god are extremely rewarding, Don't give up, this is the dark souls of large scale pvp war simulators, [at least in the very early game from my very limited experience], this isn't temu COD or Battlefield, nobody is going to hold your hand and you will have to move slow, get cover, and learn the best you can . May God have Mercy on your Soul. Enjoy

lot of fun and purchased on sale for 5 dollars is an absolute steal. game is worth full price. from my early impressions, community is helpful and pretty chill. theres around 5 to 10 fully populated servers any time i've hopped on. very cool game, enjoyable for me - someone who is intimidated by the levels of sweat required on tarkov

The perfect balance between realism and casual. If youre tired of Battlefield or find Call of Duty too simple, be sure to give this a go. Usually really cheap on sales and i would say its still worth it full price.

Highly recommend this game. Nothing beats yelling ‘Địt Mẹ!’ at your screen while expertly ‘Giữ vững vị trí!’ and realizing you ‘Chết mẹ rồi!’ more than you kill. It’s the only game where you can go from ‘Xung phong!’ to ‘Rút lui!’ in 2 seconds flat. Play with friends so you can all ‘Đi chết đi!’ together in style. 10/10 would napalm myself again.

Hai. (you) should play this awesome game & revive it from the dead. It is very fire, the gunplay is great. The game is kinda hard for noobs. The community is kinda good also. But only buy it on sale. If you don't get it on sale its probably not worth it.

its fun, but sometimes a server admin decides to instantly spawn kill you point blank with a rocket launcher or a SBS shotgun for half an hour.

Wish I could recommend this game but for a game that's as heavily team depended as this game is, it would be nice to have some sort of auto balancing or round scrambling mechanic after a rounded has ended. Especially if 1 team steamrolled the other because said team couldn't push out of their spawn or hold a single objective longer than 1 minute.

Good game, some of the best gunplay you've ever seen, and it's still populated

Yes, but beware. Very difficult game due to ultra realistic mechanics. There is no armor or hit points. So if you get hit out of nowhere, you are gone. And it only takes 1 to 2 bullets or close explosion. There is NO mercy in this game. And it's also very hard to see the enemy, so that ups the difficulty greatly. It is also likely that people have wall or ID cheats so they can see you first. It's also not a very popular game so not many servers have many players. They definitely need to add local offline bot matches like Battlefield Vietnam. This would help with difficulty and cheats if they are used.

You hear the sound of an F-4 coming in and look up to see napalm canisters tumbling directly toward you. For a fraction of a second, you're frozen, not out of fear, but because somewhere deep inside, you know what your mind cannot yet accept: there is nowhere to go

Rising Storm 2: Vietnam delivers an intense, gritty, and highly immersive first-person shooter experience that captures the chaos and complexity of the Vietnam War with remarkable authenticity. From the outset, the game immerses players in a historically grounded environment, emphasizing realism, teamwork, and tactical decision-making. The game’s visual presentation, while not pushing the boundaries of cutting-edge graphics, effectively conveys the dense jungle landscapes, muddy rice paddies, and war-torn villages that define the Vietnam setting. The atmospheric sound design further enhances immersion, with authentic weapon sounds, ambient jungle noises, and radio chatter creating a visceral battlefield experience that pulls players into the thick of combat. One of the standout features of Rising Storm 2: Vietnam is its emphasis on teamwork and strategic coordination. Unlike many modern shooters that focus heavily on individual skill, this game rewards communication and cooperation. The class system is diverse, with roles such as medic, engineer, point man, and squad leader, each vital to the success of the team. The game encourages players to work together to establish defensive positions, flank enemies, or call in support, and the importance of squad tactics is reinforced through in-game voice communication and a robust command system. The emphasis on teamwork makes every match feel dynamic and engaging, often shifting the tide based on collective effort rather than individual heroics. The gunplay and weapon handling are finely tuned to reflect the era’s firearms, with each weapon feeling distinct and weighty. The game models a variety of authentic weapons, from M16 and AK-47 rifles to grenade launchers and mortars, each requiring different tactics and skill to utilize effectively. The recoil, accuracy, and reload mechanics contribute to a realistic experience that rewards patience and precision. The game also features a compelling suppression mechanic, where continuous enemy fire can pin down players and make them vulnerable, further emphasizing the importance of cover, movement, and squad support during combat. This mechanic, combined with the destructible environments and dynamic weather effects, creates a battlefield that feels alive and unpredictable. The map design in Rising Storm 2: Vietnam is meticulously crafted to promote strategic play and territorial control. Large, open maps with varied terrain challenge players to adapt their tactics, whether they’re storming a hilltop, defending a village, or infiltrating dense jungle. The game’s objective-based gameplay encourages continuous movement and coordination, preventing stalemates and promoting an active combat experience. Additionally, the game’s progression system rewards teamwork and consistent participation, with players earning experience that unlocks new weapon skins and customization options, fostering a sense of growth and investment. Overall, Rising Storm 2: Vietnam excels as a tactical, team-oriented shooter that stands out for its dedication to realism, historical accuracy, and immersive gameplay. It appeals to players who appreciate nuanced combat, strategic planning, and authentic military simulation. While it may require a learning curve and a willingness to cooperate closely with teammates, the payoff is a deeply satisfying experience that captures the chaos, camaraderie, and brutality of warfare during one of the most turbulent periods in modern history. It’s a game that demands patience, teamwork, and tactical thinking, making every victory feel earned and every defeat a lesson learned. Rating: 8/10

The only legit Vietnam war game here. Gameplay is great. Napalm strikes look astounding and real, amazing view and cruel when it drops on battlefield, white phosphor too. Many maps and they are awesome to experience especially jungle ones. Authentic. View from the hill 937 called Hamburger Hill is heroic. As in the real hill 937 and the movie Hamburger Hill. Plenty other views of Vietnam to jump to. Each faction has it own gear and tactic. Good that for VC faction the bushes, grass or leaves prevent you from being spotted. That's cool! This game is better than Battlefield games to be honest. Graphics on ultra/high and a priceless immersion kicks in (still on medium looks nice tho). They knew what they were making when they were making it. Fucking A!
