Overall this is a poorly designed campaign and a poor representation of an under-developed module that hasn't had any significant updates for years. 11 Missions: 3 Attack / 8 Defense. The missions are uninspiring, somewhat boring, and the briefings can be very confusing. The defense missions are particularly drab: the player will combat waves of vehicles or planes from a stationary position, with really little else to do. In some cases, you are only given one playable vehicle (air defense missions) Each mission is filled with mostly non-playable vehicles. The player cannot directly control much of their force, and most of the time the player is left to only move units using the F-10 map.

Well documented (yes, the 3 points, marked A, B and C are marked on the briefing map). Only just finished mission 1. So far, a fun way to learn Combined Arms.

I think i am the few that have like the ground pack from dcs from the start. So i got this on release. So far im on mission 2. and this is why i will tell you not to buy it. Mission 1 from the start states that on the mission planner map 3 points are marked A,B,C. They are not. There is no where any marked points. If they cannot get that simple detail right then i cannot wait until more is wrong. mission 2 that i am on is a aa mission. I get to shoot hind's down. But i really cant. Becuase i have a 4k moniter and the sight picture is scaled way out so i only see 1\4 of the sight. so i have to use 3rd person. i messed around for 2 hrs with scaling options and such. and it only changed the outside picture never the sight. Update. so i dropped the resolution down to 1920x1080p. and it fixed the sight problem. i played all the way to mission 4 was having really good fun. And now the game keeps kicking me back to mission 2, so yes it's brokem like my kid would say.

TL;DR: Dull campaign with boring missions. A total waste of time and money. The DCS: Combined Arms Frontlines Georgia Campaign campaign comprises 11 missions, but to be honest, I've only played the first 6 of them. It is truly awful. The missions are drab and lacking in imagination. You'll find better missions for free online. It seems that the author has a poor grasp of DCS, mission design and military operations generally. Even though some changes have been made in the last few years on DCS in terms of new icons, map markers, weather, etc., this campaign has not been updated to use any of them, nor any of the newer (and better looking) assets. Thus it feels old and tired. The only thing this campaign is good for is showing up how appallingly bad the DCS Combined Arms module is. Especially in terms of the AI pathfinding, unit control and dire user interface. Definitely not recommended whatsoever.

This DLC is unplayable. I tried first mission and here are my complains: 1) There are no enemy units visible on commander map and therefore you can not assign your units to attack any enemy and you have zero situational awareness. Even standing right next to enemy you do not see them on the map. 2) Mi-8 are starting by them self. Any order given to them break the mission scripting and troops will not be dispatched. 3) Your aerial units does not see ground units and cannot attack them. Example is some troops in the forest which killed 3 of my Mi-24. My helicopter do not even saw those targets despite they circled 200ft above ground level. 4) The mission enter failure mode by itself after ~20min after start. There was no mention about time limit for operation nor in the mission briefing nor in mission materials. In general this DLC is unplayable also because Combined Arms in it's current form is bugy as hell. Orders are cancelled by them self. Speed and altitude are 0 at random causing aerial units to crash. UI is just ergonomics nightmare.

This campaign in itself is actually pretty good! Unfortunately Combined Arms in and of itself is... not bad, but also not that good. So if you have CA, then by all means try this campaign. It'll bring nothing new to the table compared to the missions, but it's a voiced, objective based RTS more or less.

combined arms miss so many features in its current situation, that there is no joy to play this campaign.
