I play survival horror games a lot, but this game shocked me in the hours I've spent on it. Easily, one of the best games I've ever played. I might be too strange.

First thing's first. Since the game doesn't disclose it anywhere. The usage of regurgitative "AI" is a disgusting choice and the devs should be ashamed. Even if we assume that every review were the only sales this game got, it still would have made on the order of hundreds of thousands of dollars in Early Access. You couldn't spend a little of that to find an artist to do some work? I mainly picked this up back in March of 2024 because of....let's say, overly enthusiastic friends. And I very much regret giving my money to these folks. As the game itself...it's fine. Nothing even remotely special. A finicky toy of stock assets. Honestly, the regurgitative "AI" should have been expected. You could do worse with your money, but you could also do so much better. So... Why not spend your money elsewhere and do better?

This won't work if your keyboard is not set to QWERTY layout. I asked the developer whether there was a key remap feature and their response was "Get another keyboard. Your keyboard is not meant for video games; most games will have problems with it.", which is just incorrect -- this is the first time I've played something where the keys can't be remapped. Their rude, dismissive response made me feel like it was somehow my fault that their software was missing a feature that most other keyboard-based games have. I originally requested a refund, but decided to cancel that on the off chance that this was simply a customer service rep having a bad day or something, but they really should work on dealing with customers better.

Definitely the best game of its type on Steam. Very easy to spend hours (or hundreds of hours) playing this. Definitely worth the money. I don't remember how much I paid for this game, but for the hundreds of hours I have played and for the hundreds I will play, it was worth it. I hope the devs make similar games with different themes. I'd buy them all. This is also the first game I've loved enough to write a review for. Haha. Anyway, like I said. Fun game.

Incredibly disappointed to see a game I bought in it's early access now be use AI images over commissioning an artist. For a game that's garnered a huge following thanks to Vtubers who openly commission many artists or are artists themselves, I really hope to see the dev team do better in the future. I wish I could refund because I don't want to support a team that doesn't respect my field of work.

It's calm and nice game, but some issues that needs to be fixed or enhanced: - annoying birds chirping audio (overpowering all audio and constant 24/7 - AI generated content, if you use it on labels, then edit the text at least so it's not gibberish (or use decent model, and not some Stable Diffusion 1.5) - option to disable deliveries would be nice (if you don't do them, then it won't bother you) - option to add your own music to speakers - grabbing animation needs to fixed for some items - helper employees have broken animations when they are standing completely faced wrong - let us sell furniture for full value or let us try it before buying, as sometimes you don't know if it'll fit and if doesn't, you loose money - fix the doors to the storage from the inside, so it doesn't clip with stands, make the doors face inside, how could this escape you, I don't know - triple or longer fridges - make an option to prioritize empty or certain items to be restocked by the help, they are not always helpful, restocking items that doesn't need it, while empty shelves stay empty - snapping of furniture together so it doesn't clip and it's always in line with the others - make painting easier, let me do the whole wall with one purchase, nobody has time to do it this way, same with floors, it's an chore, not joy from customization - option to speed up end of the day where you can't do anything anymore and just waiting for everyone to check out I recommend this game as I find it relaxing and easy going, without stress. But be aware you will have to make some, if not many, concessions to enjoy it fully and sometimes close one eye. But if developers will work on it further and fix the bugs and ehance quality of life in the game, it can be perfect simulator game for rainy days.

Just refunded. I can't in good faith support a game that uses AI assets. I have to admit, I gave the game a chance because of the gameplay, but the overwhelming feeling of "AI slop" looming over me told me what to do. AI art should not replace real artists. This is very scummy.

Fun at the beginning but the late game is not. At the late game, you'll profit around 2k - 3k a day but the upgrades are like 30k+ each. It's around 30 minutes for a day cycle and your reward after hours of grinding is a small 4x4 expansion or a re-branding of an existing store item. It's just not rewarding for the effort you put in. Then the complete release is still lacking QoL features like a proper inventory management so you know which items to buy immediately. Still can't key bind. No sprint toggle. No snap when placing a furniture. It's lacking balance updates like the bike is useless since its faster to run. The highest loan is 5k when the upgrades are 30k+. Only bug i saw was the skin bug. I didn't encountered any game breaking ones. The game uses unity assets but i don't really mind them.

The 1.0 update is off to a rough start. It honestly feels like the update wasn't properly tested. Throughout Early Access, there was never a beta branch to try new features, and that lack of testing really shows now. The biggest issue is Lost progression. My save is wiped or corrupted with the latest 1.0 release. Second major flaw: no multiple save slots. You can only own one store at a time. If you want to start a new game, you have to delete your current save. Seriously.. why is this still a thing? The use of AI-generated assets.. This game has made over $10 million in revenue, and yet they couldn't hire a single artist for proper textures, models, or even banner art? That’s disappointing. Gameplay-wise, there’s still room for improvement. Progression feels too linear. It would be great to let players choose what to unlock or sell. Workers are extremely limited. They only perform one repetitive task with zero interaction or depth. There’s so much potential here, but it’s just not being used.

A wonderful game to just sit down, create a shop, and feel like you're working towards something. Started playing this game way before full release, and the developers have continued to update it regularly ever since-- not just for general improvements and content, but also hears the community. Excited for multiplayer update, and will certainly 100% this game when that time rolls around, bonus points if cross-play comes.

If it looks enjoyable and you can get it on sale I'd say give this a try, but I would not pay full price for a game that lacks the basic features this one does. The gameplay is plenty fun and addictive, all of my gripes are on the technical/UX side: No multiple saves No borderless fullscreen No options for KEYBINDS (idk who thought 'put down box' should be on the G key) No key to exit the price adjustment when you click on the rack, no key to back out of things on the computer, you HAVE to click 'okay' or the red X respectively. Can't hold click to scan things at the checkout, even though you can hold click to place product on shelf? There are just constant little annoyances with the controls. A game in 2025, that is otherwise very enjoyable, getting out of beta with none of these is astounding.

I was really enjoying the game up until produce and scales ruined everything. See, at a certain point you unlock produce, right? So I get the license to sell produce, I get a bunch of produce to sell, I realize it needs a special display unit to sell, I get that and put it all out on display. I restock as usual, set my extra stock aside, and start the day as normal. Only, there's a problem: My customers won't purchase produce without a scale to weigh the produce. Damn, I think, that sucks, wish the game would've told me that first. But oh well, I'll just eat the loss on sales and fix it tomorrow when I have the money, since I don't have enough to buy a scale currently. Unfortunately, the customers had other ideas. Instead of moving on with their lives after being unable to buy something like they normally do, they refused to complete their purchases and all ran around the building like chickens with their heads chopped off, every one of them shouting "There's no scale here!" every 2 seconds. 20+ customers clustered in place yelling about the same problem and refusing to finish their purchases. So I think, okay, let me quit to the menu and restart today with that in mind. I restart, only to find that autosave kept things exactly where they were. (What the hell is the point of the manual save option, then?) Except, all the customers are gone, and the product they were carrying is gone with them. All of my shelves are nearly empty and I am flat broke because not having a scale in my store essentially caused all of my product to glitch out of my inventory to go with the bugged customers, so I'm completely broke with almost no product. Was missing the scale purchase my fault? Arguably sure, it makes sense you'd need one, but the game still should have mentioned it alongside the type of display unit the food requires. But that should just result in me eating a loss in sales, not effectively wipe out 90% of my liquid assets. Completely killed my desire to continue the game in an instant. EDIT: Oh, and just found out they used AI art. I'd refund if I could. EDIT #2: I tried giving the game another shot after using cheat engine to reimburse my glitched losses. Got myself a scale this time, tried playing a day with it up... And can safely say it only affirmed my negative review even harder. I have never seen a mechanic so clunky, stupid, and entirely pointless as this, that it single-handedly killed a game this hard.

as of version 1.0 the full release i can tell you: the "full" release was sadly rushed. this game is still in early access with many of its old issues not being adressed. the 2 most frustrating being exp not scaled, every "transaction" is worth 5 exp, no matter if the customer buys 1 product or 20. this gets frustrating the higher you go as levels require more and more exp. you can go several ingame days and through your entire stock without getting a level up, and im only in the mid 20's of levels. the other being restockers still being bugged. their settings dont matter, free racks dont matter, they will break forcing you to save and reload. and the BIGGEST issue in my opinion: why buy licenses to unlock more products? there is no real benefit to it. all that happens is you have even more to micro manage, every new license, instead of feeling rewarding, feels more punishing. they dont give you better money, they dont give you more exp, they literally only require more micromanagement. there is SOME products that overall sell for more, but these arent locked to "high level licenses" they just randomly appear. as of right now: the dev rushed this game to version 1.0 when it clearly is still in early access. major issues have not been fixed overall: dont buy. wait for more updates.

The game is now in full release (version 1.0) and, overall, it's a good experience. However, after about 10 hours of gameplay—or more precisely, after reaching a certain level—the game balance feels completely broken. You’re required to get a vehicle and buy stock manually, which adds something to do at first, but this quickly becomes tedious as you have to make endless trips to the stores. Even if you buy the pickup, which is supposed to make things more efficient due to its larger capacity, it doesn’t really solve the problem. The price of gas for the truck skyrockets, defeating the purpose of owning a larger vehicle to increase your profit. Expansion prices also become insanely high. This is a cozy management game, not a AAA title with 300+ hours of content. The grind should reward you with meaningful upgrades or new features, not just more repetitive tasks. In summary: Supermarket Simulator is fun at first, but the late-game progression and economy need serious balancing. More content is always welcome, but the grind shouldn’t just add more chores—it should offer real incentives and make gameplay feel rewarding.

Starting to use GenAI for promo pics and such after coming out of early access? That is just cheap and gross, knowing people who got early access cannot refund or anything like that. Need Devs and people in general to stop profiting off of scraped, stolen art that gets warped into something it was never meant to be.

This doesn't feel like a full game at all, this cant be version 1.X, there's work to be done yet to call this a release candidate. Basic stuff like controls aren't fully fleshed out yet, TCG Card Shop Simulator is still in early access and has better controls than this game, a few examples: In this game if you wanna leave the checkout you have to hit Escape, in TCG you only need to walk away from it, its quick and feels natural; in this game confirming a cash transaction and a credit card transaction works with different key binds(Space bar and Enter respectively), in TCG both operations are confirmed using the Space Bar, oh and you can modify your key binds in TCG btw, but you can't in this game, yes, you cannot customize your key binds in a "fully released" 2025 videogame. Also in TCG when a customer is paying with credit card the terminal UI automatically opens up when you take the card, you only have to type the amount and hit space, in this game you take the card and then you have to click the terminal, an unnecessary extra step in my opinion. Those things seem insignificant but they add up quick since this game has a lot of repetition.

Game is entertaining for a few hours, after this it becomes repetitive, the updates were enough to keep people mildly interested but not enough for a full released game, the game needs a lot to be a solid game still, using ai to promote it is a lazy intake, tells me you only want money with little no sacrifice, there wasnt any major models improvement or Ai behaviours is still the same as when it came out the first time, show us that u dont want money only and care about the community.

It's really a great game, but the moment you start getting to a larger number of customers (say 100 per day), the game becomes extremely laggy, to the point of unplayable. Only takes about 20 hours of playing to reach this level as well, and it happens with specs even well above the "recommended". As long as the optimization issues are this significant, I cannot recommend this game.

10 out of the 15 minutes i played the game was me trying to unbug the game where i cant checkout any of the customers. turning on and off the light some how worked the first time, but i quit the second time because i shouldn't have to pay $15-20 dollars for the game to break in the first 2 seconds. also AI art is lame :(

What an addictive, immersive experience! I really love this game. It is satisfying watching products stream off and onto shelves from my boxes or storage. It's pretty easy to get the hang of and relaxing to play. I'd like to see more data added as far as employee satisfaction and ability to improve their overall skill levels. It's also click-heavy, so keyboard shortcuts would help a lot. But overall, I can't stop playing! Hope you enjoy it as well!

Ahh...what to say....its really good but with so many caveats. I think this seems to be the current vogue with all simulator games. The 'getting there' element of the game is good, learn the ropes etc but once you've built your store, there's very little to do. You can automate some stuff, cashiers, shelf stackers, but ultimately you're not really doing much else. Its good for a few hours, and worth it on sale, but other than that its actually really boring. Which I hate to say as there is a good kernel of a game here but let down by either the dev's ambition or lack of funds, or both. Its a yes/no game.

LOVE this game! I've been patiently waiting for the full release so I can play on my MAC. However, the game does freeze 8/10 times when I use the wheel, when I go to save, or when I am cashing out a customer with the card on the payment screen. I have no choice but to restart my whole laptop.

A great way to lose track of time. It would be awesome if you could introduce seasons and incorporate dynamic weather changes (like rain, snow, and falling leaves to clean up after shoppers trail it inside the shop). I also like the idea of selling seasonal items like for holidays or if we can decorate the store with personal touches like wreaths on the windows, string lights, or spooky stickers on the walls. I think these touches would add another cozy layer to the game. Overall I'm enjoying it!

I'm more neutral about this game, but I'd rather have it not suggested. The game just takes SO LONG to progress. Too long for me. You could even look at the achievements and see how far people went in the game, it is not a lot at all. It was fun for maybe the first hour, but again, it just takes too long to progress. Which sucks because this game seems like it has a lot to offer, but I'm not trying to grind on this game for weeks or a month.

Supermarket Simulator is a game where you manage your own small shop (convenience store) and later turn it into a large store like Lidl, Tesco, etc. You buy groceries, set prices with a profit margin, serve customers, and try to run your business. Once you reach a certain level, you can buy licenses for additional products. Some products require different furniture, for example, pasta - - - - > shelf, water - - - - > fridge, ice cream - - - - > freezer, and pears or cucumbers - - - - > fruit and vegetable stand. I would like to thank the developers at Nokta Games for their incredible support and work on the game: how they improve and optimize the game and also take care of it with love. And of course, we mustn't forget the discounts in the store, which attract more customers, as well as online delivery and delivery around the city. There is also a community-created Czech language version. Plus: CZECH LOCALIZATION EXCELLENT GRAPHICS BEAUTIFULLY DESIGNED LARGE MAP DISCOUNTS BASICALLY ALL MAJOR UPDATES GREAT OPTIMIZATION EXCELLENT WORK NOKTA GAMES TEAM Minus: I couldn't find any. Once again, thank you to the Nokta Games team for an incredible game and experience. I love you team.

Honestly, I expected a whole lot more to come before 1.0. Not to mention that it just kind of feels rushed out the door. AI cover art, bugs everywhere, still more of a "gas station store" sim than a "supermarket" sim. Meh. Another early access title that turned out to be nothing more than hype and potential. At least we can thank it for inspiring a bunch of other devs to make better versions of it.

This is a weird game, and I was honestly on the fence about whether or not I would recommend it, but I guess I've enjoyed it enough that, overall, yeah, I guess it's worth getting. If you like simulator games or any business tycoon game, then you'll probably enjoy this game. In general, the game is pretty intuitive and straightforward, and it is satisfying growing your store over time. However, the biggest problem with this game, currently, is that progression can be painfully slow. You'll spend several days doing the same thing over and again; mostly scrambling around trying to make sure you don't run out of stuff and ringing up customers until you can finally afford to hire people. Most of the time, you'll be walking around the store, ordering things that are running low and restocking shelves because the two stockboys you have are too slow. And after all that, you'll probably have only made a couple hundred bucks in profit, mostly because you had to keep buying stuff to make sure the shelves all had product on them. Furniture, while not too pricey in general, is still a considerable investment and the upgrades get more and more expensive, to the point that they cost an arm and a leg. And if you can't afford to grow the size of the store, you can't really get more product licenses because you'll have nowhere to put them. You put on some sales to drive more business, but then you're still scrambling to make sure shelves stay stocked and even if you make more money, you still pay a lot for staff, rent, and loans, plus the amount you need to spend to restock the store the following day. You just never make enough money. Then, you're constantly getting pinged for Online Orders that you can deliver to people around the town. This is a mechanic that I think needs to be thrown right out the window because I can't leave the store or I need to order stuff or the shelves will be empty. You have to buy a truck or some other vehicle to move quickly around the town...and you probably can't afford a vehicle because you're too busy restocking shelves and paying bills, staff, rent, and loans. I don't have time to be driving around the town. Either make the online orders into a 'Pick Up' booth that I can place the orders on, or get rid of this mechanic (or let me hire a delivery driver). I know this review seems negative, but I do truly like this game. I think it can become a pretty great simulator game, but it needs a LOT of polish before it can get there.

🇬🇧 English first | 🇺🇦 Українська нижче 🇺🇦 ⬇️ Is exactly what it sounds like 🛒 — you start with an empty space and build your very own grocery store. You buy shelves and equipment, order products, stock items, work the cash register, and keep the store clean. In the beginning, it’s very engaging to build everything from scratch. Eventually, the repetitive actions (restocking, scanning, cleaning) start to feel a bit boring — but as soon as I hired staff, the fun returned. They took care of the chores, and I got to focus on managing the store and weighing vegetables :) The graphics are nothing special, and the customer animations can be oddly creepy, but that’s not the point of the game. There’s barely a soundtrack — in fact, adding background music is one of the in-game upgrades. All in all, the core idea and its execution work well. For me, it’s a solid 7.2/10. Recommended — worth a try! o0o o0o o0o

Very fun simulator game. It can be very addicting and you'll spend many hours playing the game during your first playthrough. Returning to this game after it fully released (I played it during early access) I was quite disappointed. I found myself experiencing bugs that never occurred and there was a lot of simple things that should've been tweaked that never did like the visual arts. The game is fun don't get me wrong, but it has sorta gone down hill. They've added so many things and it had a lot of potential, but for the current price I just don't recommend it. I did get all the achievements and previously during early access there was only 3 achievements so it was nice to see that they added more. The ones they added are all basic and you can get most of them quickly. The only achievement that is a grind if you choose to do it legit is purchasing all the expansions because you have to level up A LOT which requires tons of hours put into the game. As you progress through the game it becomes more of like inventory simulator rather than actually working in a supermarket. Once you get employees like cashiers and restockers, you basically just stand around, adjust prices, buy product, and repeat. So it definitely gets a bit repetitive for a game that requires so much grinding. In conclusion, in the game's current state I wouldn't recommend it. If you wanna give the game a try, do yourself a favor and buy it when it is on sale at least because I don't think the game is worth $20 at all.

So this is a great game but there should be a sandbox where you get to customize bills like turn bills on and off unlimited money on and off and difficulty easy miedium and hard and stuff like that. but remember people can still play the mode that was orriganly made but the whole point of this is to add a sandbox mode to the game for people who struggle to manage dept rent and all the struggles like me so please please please add a sandbox and make it so there are save slots so you can have about atleast 2 stores and you can also overlap them so for example my game needs to be saved I can overlap my other save or the save to that store ill pick the store im using save and it overlaps it to the intended save basicly like tgc card shop simulator's saves but with a max of 2 save slots. anyway thats all I wanted to say and if a dev is reading this please add atleast 2 save slots and a sandbox mode honestly I think most people would agree with me with the sandbox and the 2 save-slots in my oppion it will make your game a whole lot better and im not saying its bad im saying it will make the game more fun and engaging anyway thank you for reading this and bye.
