As always, I want to preface this by saying I'm generally more critical on horror games than most, but all criticisms are to lend a perspective for what I enjoy in horror and hope to see different in future games.
FM is an indie horror game that is more or less a walking sim, which is cool with me, however, the story elements are very dry, incoherent at times, very slow paced, and the interactive parts aren't compelling.
- The gameplay mechanic the game uses to keep you engaged or to at least have an interactive element to it is that you are to listen to audio cues and hold RMB to look at a corresponding object. It's a bit bland and repetitive. It just leads to you walking around and zooming in on objects. There's one other element where the game has you collect several items in a relatively small area. It's tedious and incredibly slow paced to an already slow paced game. Which leads me to..
- The walk speed in this game is dreadfully slow. I don't know if the thought was to draw out dread or tension, but the game doesn't really do this particularly well. There's long hallways (yes looping hallways too) and it takes forever to walk down them with nothing happening in between.
- If there's a looping hallway mechanic, I'd like to see more things change between loops. Even more on pacing, each loop the game feeds you one or two lines of the story and the slow walking pace leaves a lot of silence until you reach the next loop where you learn a little bit more of the story. It's nickel and diming and I feel like it could be tightened up to make the game more cohesive.
- FM takes a lot of inspiration from PT. All things are pretty derivative, but this game almost takes a little too much and it makes it pretty predictable.
- The horror elements are almost non-existent. There's not a lot of atmosphere and for whatever reason there's a lot of furniture being upside down and red lights are thought to be scary.
- The story wasn't engaging enough for me to follow it properly. That's probably just me being dumb, but I was a bit confused between who died when and it didn't make sense to me chronologically. So instead of a moment of a plot twist or reveal, I was just confused and unsure if I just misunderstood something before.
Look, this game is more than I could ever accomplish on making a game, but there's a lot of elements that could be tweaked for what I would see as a more enjoyable experience. The game is inexpensive and it's about an hour long so it could still be worth a try for you.

I love this game! I will not lie I did struggle a bit with how to progress in the game. It is super creepy and made me jump several times. I do have to recommend this game to all horror lovers.

Played on Linux using Proton, Played for less then an hour and was falling a sleep, Very Dark and very boring, Jump scares are knocking on doors, bulbs popping, all done before, might be something better later on, puzzles?, listen to the radio and take a guess at what to look at (right mouse zoom) as it's somewhat to dark to see what you should zoom in on most of the time. got as far as the school and setting the clocks, picking up books, but that was as much as i could take, boredom and heavy eye lids makes for a dull game, as for being like PT, nope, only thing it has in common is walking down the same plain corridor which was done much better in PT.

About one hour long horror game. Not terrible, but I still didn't enjoy it.
Walking speed is incredibly slow and you often have to do some sort of puzzle where a radio is telling a chunk of the story and then you have to interact with a certain item which should correspond to something you just heared. But this is just aweful. I was heavily stuck in the first of these puzzles and even in the others it's just way too hard to tell which items are the right ones. In fact because of that I think this is more a puzzle game, but mostly not very enjoyable.

The clicking areas to trigger events are just tedious. You never know if you're clicking the right object or if the game didn't detect your click. You spend your time walking around the same rooms, clicking everything until the game finally detects your clicking. Often, it was the object you clicked first but that the game had not registered. So, you have spent 10 minutes walking around for nothing and you become frustrated and bored until you quit. Also, it's not scary at all, not even the cheap jump scares. Paid $1.50 for this and requested a refund anyway. It's bad.

Pretty good scary game. It has the ominous elements; you can definitely sense the PT inspirations. Its not bad, it's short and sweet, the story is comprehensible, and I feel fulfilled. It is rough around the edges though, I explain that at the end of my video. But overall, not a bad game! It was definitely worth playing, but I'd wait for it to be on sale.

Short, mostly okay experience. I wouldn't say it's bad, just not the most terrifying experience, nor the most interesting of gameplay. I'd say pass on this unless you can find it for a dollar.

FM is an interesting puzzle game where you zoom and click on certain objects or locations of the room while listening to an FM radio to solve the mystery. Overall the story is short and simple with four acts of game play which can be completed in roughly an hour. The achievements are also easy to unlock and require no skill whatsoever. There is a secret achievement involving the television, but this review does not contain spoilers! The psychological parts of the game where the map would loop or flip were not that scary. The transitions between scenes and lack of sound effects during the supposed jump scares made this horror game basic at its core. Considering price and length; this game earns a rating of 6/10

It´s a pretty good horror walking simulator.
I like the storytelling on the radio with the hints to continue.
All acievements are story related except the secret one.
If you don´t get it yourself look in the forum =)

This was a neat little P.T like game. Cliche, yes, but done in a fun way that kept me interested throughout. Although there are tons of games in this category, this one did a pretty good job. It has taken me ages to actually download and play this game due to some of the reviews but am glad that I finally did.

Definitely not worth it.
Any "horror" to the game relies on predictable jumpscares.
There are two methods of solving "puzzles", which is a larger number than there needed to be. One is just simply interacting with things, one is having to zoom in on specific objects. The zooming in mechanic was pointless. It didn't enhance the game in any way. Functionally, it was the same as just interacting with objects except being more finicky as I frequently found that even though I was zoomed in on the right object, I needed to adjust where I was standing because it didn't count.
The concept for the "puzzles" is that you listen to the radio telling you about the "story" and you're supposed to find a relevant object, but one of the first couple zooming puzzles didn't even make sense. You're in what I assume is a morgue and the radio tells you about how a neighbour heard gunshots, called the police, then went to go knock on the door (instead of, you know, waiting for the police). Logical options for things to zoom in on might be the door or a telephone, but
it was a scale.
Not sure how that was remotely relevant to what I was being told.
The story itself was bland and the "plot twist" was as predictable as it was stupid. I got pulled out of any care for anything in the story when it went on to talk about
the grandparents. The children told them frequently about how the dad beat them and how they only felt safe in the dark where he couldn't find them, he's a known alcoholic, and the grandparents "feared for the safety of the family" but... never once thought to get literally any authorities involved? And nothing happened after he beat the mom so bad she had to go to the hospital?
The "twist" was so predictable specifically because the game
constantly went on and on about how terrible of a person the father was and how he was an alcoholic, valued his gun more than his family, and regularly beat them. When you shovel tons of "Look how terrible he is" into the player's face, then he obviously could not have been the one to kill them or else there's literally zero development in anything. Making him the killer in the end would've just been an hour of "This person was terrible, did terrible thing to the surprise of literally nobody in-universe."
As for the voice acting, I unfortunately can't tell if the lines were just delivered poorly by the voice actor himself or if the stilted manner of speaking was done intentionally (possibly not by the speaker himself) as an attempt to get across a sort of distortion or something, but in the end it didn't matter.
I don't even know how I have 3+ hours of playtime on this. I completed it in about an hour, but prior to actually playing it had over 2 hours of playtime but not even the achievement you get for going in the first hallway, so I assume I opened it at some point planning to play it but left it running for a couple hours after getting distracted.

I didn't get far when I got stuck without any kind of clue how to move forward. There's been 13 this kind of horror games in a dozen lately, and this falls to below average even in its own genre. There's not much to recommend here. Always the same popping lightbulbs, moving shadows and other frustrating elements, that kill the exploring aspect and the pressing uneasy feeling of mystery completely. For some people they give jumpscares and chills. For me, they just generate fury and frustration.

It's not for me. I, honestly hated it. However, as a P.T. clone, I can see why people are into it. If that's what you are looking for, then it does it well. Everything else, movement speed, sound design, annoying sound design, I just couldn't hang. That doesn't mean you won't though.

Interesting enough little horror. I'm curious to see what this developer does next.
It doesn't quite raise the pulse to the point where I'd consider myself scared, but it's certainly a creepy affair.
Don't believe my steam time. I left it on a while on pause menu. I don't think I got much more than an hour out of it.
The gameplay is straightforward enough (though I must admit it took me proportionally far too long to find the dog!). You walk around rooms, interacting with items or "focusing" on them with the zoom button. It's always obvious enough what you're supposed to do. There are some interesting setpieces introduced later on in the game which are highlights, which I won't elaborate on for fear of spoilers.
In short, certainly worth it on sale, there is potential here, and it should keep you entertained for an hour or so.

So this was a Okay game and I will admit that the story is super dark as well as gripping. However I think that the gamplay could have been executed a little bit and the jump scares definitely need a boost because I think only one of them got me. Which that was kind of a let down as well because I love to have the crap scared out of me which is why I wear Depends(Big Boy Diapers) when I play horror games. Also I think there was two little ant size bugs in the game when I was playing which the first one occurred when I was in
The Second Act in the school, it wouldn't let me progress even after I collected all the books. I had save and quit, then go back and the other bug was similar to the first; it was in the Hospital and it would not let me progress even thought I was looking into the room with rifle when it mentioned the husbands hunting trip.
Other than that the game ran as smooth a butter!! Oh and I know people are going to kill me for this comment....but I have never heard of or played "Playable Teaser" but if this game is like that then I would like to try it out if its still possible...lol.
Graphics: (9/10)

Sound & Music: (8/10)

Nicely done game with pretty dark story and good atmosphere. Short and cheap. Unfortunately it was really awkward on the technical side though... The focus mechanic didn't work unless I stood in a very specific place in the room. And overall controls had a strange input lag.
7/10 for a good price :D

Very fun! The puzzles are the right blend of difficult and rewarding, and definitely solve-able without a guide. The tension was great, and the scares were not just cheap jumpscares. I'd recommend it for a solid, well made indie horror game that you can play in one session.
Looking at the reviews now, there are definitely a couple of people who didn't read the directions and struggled more than they should have. The whole concept is that you have to take clues from the dialogue on the radio, and they will creatively tell you exactly what you will be looking for in the environment. Anyone who say's they're "mindlessly zooming in" just didn't quite get that so keep that in mind when reading the reviews.

Pretty short game but very influenced by Silent Hill: PT. If you're fan of horror and puzzle games, I'd highly recommend. Once you get the hang of the puzzle system, the same can be beat in about an hour and a half. Very easy to get all the achievements in one solid play through.

Established the most intense sense of terror and dread throughout the whole game. Jumpscares weren't terrible (which I can appreciate 😅). Overall, was a very well-made, PT inspired horror thriller. Definitely give it a play.

Very enjoyable experience. I would not go as far as saying it terrified me or anything, but there were quite a few jump scares that i sadly fell victim to.
The puzzles are not too complex and for the most part quite enjoyable. There is one in particular i can think of that, if you solve it immediately, the solution (ie thing you are clicking on) doesn't work, but if you come back a minute or two later it does. Thankfully when i run out of ideas i just start start clicking on everything all over again.
Overall i am quite happy with the purchase and intent to check out the developers back catalog.

Really good. Not a long game, but a simple concept and clues/actions that were purely based on hints (rather than 'click E to interact'. Sets up an atmosphere rather than relying on jumpscares. I found the 'lock on' aspect of finding clues particularly unnerving as things would go on around me as I did this. This developer is one to keep an eye out for as his reputation grows.
My ONLY criticism is I think we see the threat maybe a little too little. It's a fine balance between not giving us too much though to avoid desensitising the player, so not a dreadful sin.

Really good game! I liked the story a lot and the puzzles were also interesting. One riddle took me about 20 minutes to solve because I had to zoom somewhere in the dark and I couldn't see were I had to zoom. 😂
When I solved the second school riddle with the books the bell didn't ring and I had to restart the whole chapter.
FM takes inspiration from an older Playstation game called P.T. (Playable Teaser) which was a teaser for an upcoming Silent Hill game. The game has a great premise, homicide-suicide story with narrative as you explore a hallway that leads to distant memories of a story beginning to unfold as you progress. My only gripe with this game is the miss opportunity of making this game very scary, the way that P.T. was. Very few and weak jumpscares where many could have been implemented, however, this does not make the game any less enjoyable to play, it is very short but besides that it is still a fun story to go through. My rating 7/10. If you'd like to watch my video on this game you can see it here with this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MPJScyXXp64&t=8s&ab_channel=TheDementor

Price to gameplay was reasonable however actual game content felt lacking. You mostly just walked from point A to B with scary sounds and thrilling inputs. It's got a decent story however, I feel the "story rich" title is a little misleading as the story is just scattered here and there and you walk from A to B to hear a shopping list.
Not hardcore Horror.
For Horror, 3/10
For Game, 7/10

If your looking to play a fun horror game that has good jump scares and other good scary aspects this is a game worth trying. The story is nothing unique but keeps you interested in whats going on and makes following the story and puzzles with the radio broadcast enjoyable and not headache puzzles. Worth the $5 even though that's almost enough for a cookout tray

WONT WORK!
I press start and everything does as normal. It zooms into the TV and static comes comes on. After the static finishes the screen goes blank. I thought it was just loading until I could hear full audio. The knocking and footsteps. The screen is just black.
I've tried restarting my computer - didn't work. I then uninstalled it and reinstalled it and the same issue continued.

A buggy mess that's way too dark. Even with the brightness cranked all the way up it's still hard to see things. Solving puzzles is buggy. You'll look at objects and get stuck staring at them with no way to back out or progress.

This game is an original yet unique twist on the popular P.T, If you enjoy P.T odds are you will find FM right up your alley. From the haunting experience of walking down dimly lit hallways and the eerie visuals of staring down completely dark hallways waiting for the main antagonist to show themselves, As well as the sinister storyline that will make even some of the most hardened fans of the genre shiver. For 5$ this game is something both you and your wallet will enjoy.

I for one am writing this review with as little bias as possible, for I am the sexy ass voice actor on the radio.
Do you like P.T.? Do you like horror? Do you like puzzles?
WELL LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING
This game was made by one beautiful boy, or he was a boy until he made this art come to life and now he is a MAN. If you would like to make the next step into adulthood and just overall being sexy like this game creator, I recommend you try this out for yourself.
In all seriousness, he did very well making a fun yet thrilling puzzle experience for players like you and me. Worth the investment for sure! 10/10

Very short (took me 3 hours to finish and a chunk of that was getting used to how the progression worked). However, despite the short length, the game is well worth it's quite reasonable price of admission. Not so much scary or even creepy in any traditional way, but much closer to extremely unsettling and disturbing in it's description of the events by the radio voice. It probably won't make you jump out of your chair or wet yourself or jump out of your chair WHILE wetting yourself, but I can almost promise you'll be thinking about it for awhile after it's over. Definitely recommended.
