ESO is a game that tells you that a subscription isn't required, and then super glues a crafting bag to you with a big combination lock with enough tumblers to put your credit card info in. ESO is also a game that, at every level up, feels like it's jingling keys in your face, your character screaming in what i can only hope is excitement, as a new dungeon unlocks for queue. but most early dungeon queues are terrible to sit through, highly recommend doing quests while you wait. Elderscrolls online feels like a world that doesn't want you here, but since you've bothered installing is trying to entertain you just enough that you'll pay the monthly sub.

🌸🎮 From Console to PC: A Fresh ESO Adventure! 🎀✨ OMG, moving from ESO on Xbox Series X to PC has been such a fun change! 😍💖 I already loved the game on console, but now I get to experience it in a whole new way! The biggest difference for me? Keyboard & mouse controls! 🎯💻 It took a little getting used to, but once I adjusted, it felt really natural! Also, chatting is SO much easier—no more painfully slow virtual keyboard! 💬✨ Now I can actually type fast and communicate without struggling! One thing that really surprised me was how active the PC NA community is! 😲🎉 The Xbox NA servers were always super lively, so I was expecting PC to feel emptier since some YouTubers said it doesn’t have as many players… but it doesn’t feel that way at all! 💖 There are always people in towns, world events are packed, and finding groups is easy! 🏹✨ If you’re thinking of switching? Go for it! 💕💻 It’s a different experience, but still the same amazing world of ESO! ✨💖 See you in Tamriel, Champion! 💖✨

Honestly if I could leave a neutral review on this game that would be better, but it's still a playable experience. Is it an extremely fun one? No. Should it be 130 gigabytes? Definitely not. But if you want something to sink time into, this could do worse. A lot of people complain about the microtransactions, but if you really WANT to play a game, you can ignore them well enough.

I just wanted to copy/paste the ticket i sent to the Developers: "I just downloaded 135gb of game files via steam. Tried opening the game, but instead opened a launcher with another 96gb of download data. I let the launcher run for 30 minutes just to make sure it wasnt verifying files instead of downloading, but no.... its redownloading the game. Searched online for an answer and found out that you first make me download the old game files without the patches and everything.... OLD GAME FILES THAT NEED TO BE CHANGED, then you update it via launcher. WHY DID I DOWNLOAD THE GAME FILES THAT ARE GOING TO BE CHANGED IN THE FIRST PLACE????? I was ready to play the game after 16hrs of download, got fucked in the face instead. If you think its not a big deal, in the remote area where I live... I dont have unlimited optic cable internet etc. i have to pay for my data just like mobile data.... so every 100gb is is another 11 euros. So thank you for taking my money without giving me nothing in return. This is not a ticket i need help with. I just wanted to say fuck you to the developer and the employee reading this. I hope you have a terrible launch of every new game or dlc and you go bancrupt. fuck you" the end 0/10 I decline to spend another 11 euros to play the game i got scammed by. Blacklisting the developer. And on more for the road: fuck you

It is non-functional. I only paid $2 and I want it back but I can't because the burned my 2 hr return period with 100 GB of ingame downloads prior to starting. The game ran once. I finished the tutorial and it hasn't let be back in since. I get a 307 error and booted off the server both North America and Europe. Play Path of Exile

I've played over 4k hours of this... and don't regret a minute. I love sandbox games, because you can just do as the mood strikes. I'd like the puzzles to be harder, and I'm not a social gamer, so I am unable to complete quite a few of the group elements, which is disappointing. Nonetheless, you can still do an awful lot on your own, and once you've levelled enough, a lot of the world bosses are solo-able. I just wish there weren't mechanics that required group action on some of the group dungeons, because it's nice to be able to keep challenging yourself but still play in your own way, rather than having to group. And yes, I know that it's an MMORPG, but Bethesda still hasn't brought out the next Elder Scrolls solo game, so you've got to go somewhere for your Tamriel fix.

The game states it's 130 gb but it's actually 270 gb And that's only the steam part Outside of steam you still need to download an additional 120 gb of additional content so about 400 gbs in total This additional 120 gb is calculated into the playtime so you cant refund if your download is slow

I've only played 5 hours so far, never thought I'd play RPG style games. It's the open world aspect I like. I wish it had more of a Skyrim feel, instead of feeling like a game catering to teenagers. I wish the UI panels that show up on the left and right didn't require a magnifying glass, my old eyes have a difficult time reading them. Seriously, developers, lots of older people game too.

(This is being written by someone who only ever played PVP for the abilities such as war horn, vigor, etc for PVE. Do what you will with this information.) As someone who has played ESO since the Morrowind chapter, I can say this game isn't worth buying in its current state. ESO has been in a slow decline since Elswyr with smaller and less rewarding dungeons, trials, and PVE content. All which give mundane rewards while the bigger 'rewards' are reserved for the tired-and-untrue loot crate system. This ranges from animations to clothing. Nothing aesthetic/achievement wise has felt worth obtaining in most challenging content since summerset. Why would I want to farm JUST a title in new content for 2+ hours, but skins and motifs of the same content are stuck behind a loot crate? Instead of fixing things in a rational manner, devs wait for power creep to stranglehold PVE content and then nerf things to oblivion. All while rolling out the aforementioned new content and items. This feels very true in regards to the latest scribing system, which is a dozen fetch quests layered atop reused enemies, areas, and animations. Strange nerfs and reworks do not aid this feeling of decline either. Perfect examples include things such as: - HealCro. It has been in an incredibly awkward spot since U35 reworked empowered to become useless in PVE, ruining a great niche HealCro fit. - Necrotic Orb. Instead of a reasonable change, its morph became an awkward resource regen that brings no noticable benefit. - Templars Puncturing Jabs. While yes, it absolutely needed a nerf, the entire class was gutted when Jabs was nerfed. Causing tan awkward feel to its playstyle It's unfortunate to say I feel as if there isn't any real redeeming qualities about a game I've sunken alot of time into. There are just alot of MMOs out there that can give you the same feeling of adventure, challenging combat, and creative storytelling without shoving FOMO, loot crates, and 50 fetch quests in your face.

Stupid freemium game that takes up almost 200 gigs. I paid 2 dollars for the "starter edition" and just the launcher is 160. It now wants to download 90GB just to update. The game doesn't even look that good! How bloated is this piece of crap? All this just to dip my toes in a stale MMO that nickels and dimes you to access the content that's rotting on my hard-drive. Optimize your garbage. Maybe when I become old fat and retarded I'll recoup on my $2 investment.

Hey, this game is actually fun to pla- AN UNEXPECTED ERROR HAS OCCURED. YOU HAVE BEEN BOOTED FROM SERVER. Oh and just to rub it in your face more we will give you 30 min penalty for disconnecting. Why does it happen? Who knows? Even their advanced team's support members are unable to fix this. I've tried port forwarding, port triggering, sending detailed msinfo reports, static IP, clean boot, new user in windows, changing DNS servers, uninstalling all mods and addons, repairing the game, renaming ProgramData file as recommened by support and NONE OF THIS WORKS. FIX YOUR GAME. I have no problems in other titles. Also I am constantly on a call on Discord and there is no disconnection when those so called "UNEXPECTED ERRORS" occur in Elder Scrolls Offline. When you play a match in battlegrounds (PVP quickmatch of sorts) and see that everybody stops in place RUN. Run away from this game because even after eons of troubleshooting your PC Hardware and network nothing will be fixed. Spend your money elsewhere. You will thank me later. Update: I actually had to buy a VPN software for this game to work. Absolute circus I had to dish out additional money for a subscription to fix developers' mistake. I've got higher ping but at least I am not being booted from server (so far). With that being said when you have no conectivity issues this games has a lot to offer. Lots of content and alive towns with players which makes a mmo a mmo. Crown Shop is predatory but I am okay with that personally as long as I can play the game. Latest response from their support team: "Greetings! Thank you for your reply. Please keep in mind that if you are able to connect through a VPN, this does indicate that the issue is likely due to your specific connection to the game. Sometimes using a VPN can cause other issues, so please fee free to reach out to your ISP or review your router or modem in case that may help reveal what is leading to the connection issues. Thank you, The Elder Scrolls Online Team" So they just show middle finger and clearly do not care their customer needs to pay additional money. Funny, if it was really a me problem I would not be able to play any game at all and out of all games in my library only this one has this problem. Surely, a me problem.

ESO is a lore hunter's wet dream. It goes into deep lore, serious deep lore on the regular. Is it the best elder scrolls game ever made? No. is it the best MMO ever made? No. But it is a /good/ game. It has a solid gameplay loop, a mountain of content over the years of active development, and more than enough stuff to keep you busy while you hunt down all the story and make your perfect vestige.

The Elder Scrolls Online – More Disappointment Than Expectation After all the hype and anticipation for an online version of the legendary series, The Elder Scrolls Online leaves a lot to be desired. On paper, it sounds great – a huge world, quests, combat, but it just doesn’t deliver. Gameplay: Boring and Uninspired The combat is a mess. Attacks feel delayed, and enemies don’t die even when you’re hitting them correctly. The mechanics are repetitive, and the animations are clunky, making battles more of a chore than fun. Story: Not What You’d Hope For The story is weak, even though the lore is solid. Sure, there are a few interesting moments, but most quests boil down to “kill all the monsters” or “fetch this item.” Compared to the main Elder Scrolls games, the story takes a back seat, and you never really feel like a hero. World: Beautiful But Empty The locations are beautiful, but they quickly feel lifeless. Instead of getting immersed in the world, you’re reminded that it’s just a game – too many players running around, and NPCs with no depth. The immersion suffers because of it. Monetization: Enough Already The game is technically free to play, but you’ll have to pay if you want a comfortable experience. Most useful features, like extra inventory slots, are locked behind paywalls, and the constant need to buy new expansions gets old fast. Should You Play? Only if you’re a die-hard TES fan and don’t mind MMO annoyances. But if you’re looking for the depth and excitement of Skyrim or Oblivion, look elsewhere. Final Verdict: 4 empty wallets out of 10.

After spending the entire day downloading it via steam and finally getting the "your game is ready to play" notification after downloading a crazy 119.6 GB of bulls*** the Zenimax launcher launched, what I expected to be a "PLAY" button turns out to be a "DOWNLOAD" button. and guess what? it wants to re-download 97.35 GB ALL OVER AGAIN.. The game is trash. UI is overloaded. The game doesn't provide you with a proper tutorial and explain what are the mechanics. Pay to win, since if you not willing to pay for the subscription and DLCs you won't use all content in paid model game. Also it's not integrated with Steam, You download ~130 GB and after that ~90 GB of content (Why not integrate and download all at once?)

GREEDY CASHGRAB You have to pay for the game, then you have to pay for all DLC, then you have to pay for some classes you want to play. Next you have to pay for a sub, if you don´t want to juggle your VERY VERY FEW inventory places all the time. All your crafting supplies (for example you have 20-30 runestone stuff only for enchanting in your inventory) are in your normal inventory (60-80 slots in the beginning) It´s not free to play but you have to pay EVERYTHING extra. It´s disgusting. I really wanted to play this for longer, but they don´t deserve a cent more from me.

It's like Skyrim, only MMO, and damn Todd made me buy Scrolls again, overall, I'm happy with the game, if you've played any part of the Scrolls, then there's no point in explaining WHAT it is. Of the pluses, I can highlight the awesome skill system, fans of making different builds (and I'm one of them) will simply drool, by level 50 you will already have enough skill points to diversify your build, also as a plus I can highlight the community, because it is very friendly, of course, like everywhere you can meet an inadequate person, but overall you can have a great time chatting or doing some activities together. Also, the dungeons can be singled out as pluses, although I hate some of them, because the first time you don’t always understand the essence of some bosses, but in general, each dungeon is capable of giving a challenge, as well as non-standard mechanics for bosses, where there is no point in just standing in place and pouring in damage. I can highlight a plus for quests, although in general most of them are primitive, but sometimes they give quite complex moral choices, where in the end not a single result is positive, and also the plus of quests is that in the future your choice can shoot in one of the following quests, you can either meet a character, or discuss your choice 30 hours ago with the quest giver, which in my opinion is very cool and gives an awesome immersion. In general, the game also has its downsides, but they don't really matter, the only major downside is the guilds, because you have to choose them very carefully, in general, you can read about them on any online resource, for example, on the same reddit, because describing the jokes with the trade here will take too much time. Anyway, I highly recommend the game, because after spending 100+ hours I had a ton of fun, also made a couple of friends for the game and being a part of this community is quite nice. Overall 10 Todd Howards out of 10

896 hours. That’s not just a number — that’s hundreds of dungeon runs, alliance wars, crafting grinds, vampire bites, guild trader flips, gear theorycrafting sessions, and moments where I swore I'd log off… only to lose another four hours to Cyrodiil or a spontaneous world boss hunt in Vvardenfell. ESO isn’t a perfect game — no MMO is — but it’s one of the few that has truly earned its place in my gaming life. It’s not just about Tamriel’s sprawling zones or the nostalgic high of revisiting places like Mournhold, Vivec, or the Imperial City. It’s the combat system that rewards timing and mechanics over sheer numbers. It’s the depth of character customization that lets you run a magicka necro one day and a werewolf tank the next. It’s the sheer freedom — play how you want, where you want, with whoever you want. ZeniMax has its flaws. Performance in PvP? Still janky. Power creep? Definitely a thing. RNG loot? Don’t get me started. But for all its imperfections, ESO has soul. The voice acting is top-notch. The lore is deep enough to drown in. And the community — at least in the right circles — is one of the most helpful and passionate I’ve seen in any MMO. The music still hits. The housing system is dangerously addictive. And crafting? Once tedious, now a weirdly satisfying routine that makes me feel like a blacksmith-mage-alchemist-tycoon hybrid. After nearly 900 hours, I still log in and find something new to chase — a mythic item, a transmute grind, a new motif, or a random adventure that spirals into chaos with friends. And that’s why I keep coming back. Final Verdict: This game isn’t just a time sink — it’s a second home for fantasy nerds, lorehounds, PvP junkies, and dungeon crawlers alike. If you give it the time, it gives back tenfold. 9/10 — "Still not done, and that’s the best part."

Soooo I went from paying the subscription and blowing my paychecks on this shi to being ftp. It's not too bad if you have someone to play with you, but after I went through all the ftp zones (yes there's still a lot to do, it just feels fking tedious), I feel like a brokie. All the cool kids are doing DLC and shi...way more interesting content. All-in-all, from being a WoW veteran and other indie MMORPG player for the past decade, this game is pretty solid once you get used to the attack system it's very fun actually. HOWEVER I HAVE A FUCKING BEEF WITH BETHESDA BECAUSE I PAID FOR THE FUCKING NECROMANCER CLASS EXPECTING A ROLEPLAY ENRICHED EXPERIENCE, IF NOT A GIGA CHAD DPS AND NOT ONLY DID I WASTE MY MONEY AND SEVERAL HUNDRED HOURS GRINDING THAT SHIT TO GET TO "MAX LEVEL" IT IS SO BORING TO PLAY LIKE I AM LITERALLY KICKING MYSELF TRYING TO HAVE FUN WITH IT ONLY THING THAT HAPPENS PLAYING NECROMANCER IS U GET SLIMED IN DUELS WHEN SOMEONE CHALLENGES U IN A CITY. BRUH!!!EFBAEUFHEkh Rant over, FML. Bethesda, I don't mind getting slimed in duels just MAKE IT FUN TO PLAY THIS CLASS like I want to be terrorized by NPCs because I'm an outlaw chick >:) practicing evil sorcery. YOU CAN DO IT! This game needs something new... Every month or so I log in to see if there's anything worth bringing me back. There never is. The last interesting addition to the game was a new class and the rogue-like dungeons. that was a long time ago... meanwhile I just see a new ugly armor set every now and then or a weapon motif (and the decent weapon motifs are always missing greatswords for some reason). Seriously what the hell is going on in the dev office... every month the same moron walks in and pitches a new ugly armor set? Is there anyone working there with a friggin original idea? Christ there are little to no decent mmos now and you guys are just letting ESO rot. Give us some new classes... fuck balance. The game isnt balanced anyway. PVP is a joke. Make is fun. Idiots.

If I could give this piece of garbage negative stars I would. Literally the worst gaming experience I have ever had on any platform, game, or website. Bethesda/Zenimax need to unf*** their email/registration process. I've tried multiple brand new email accounts to get access to a game I already bought and paid for, whose patcher took 1.5 hours JUST TO LOAD THE GAME, which counts as time played. I'm past refund timing on a game I literally cannot get an account to register for. "Verify your email" doesn't send a code, full stop. Bethesda tries to tell you online it's YOUR fault, that YOUR email filters are set up wrong- BS. Shame on you, Bethesda. "Wait 10 minutes and try again"? It's been 6 hours of just trying to get a damn verification email... And now my friend who bought it is having the exact same problem. Taking my time, money, and energy somewhere else. What a joke.

Don´t buy this! Here are several reasons why: So I downloaded about 160gb of files on Steam just to figure out that the client asks for an additional 50 odd gb volume. After installing the additional (!) 50gb, still no functioning game: While trying to open the client, another third (!) setup of some 100gb was necessary. Now that last installer is buggy. Simply does not finish its job. Bad enough already, but it gets even worse: Tried to register an account on the Elder Scrolls Online website while waiting for the install to finish (which it doesn´t). At first, I did not receive any verification email on my primary mail account, despite several (!) requests. Half an hour in and no confirmation email to finish the registration - not even in the spam folders. Then I tried using other, secondary mail accounts: No emails received. In the meantime, Steam keeps counting "ingame" minutes for a broken installer not finishing what it is supposed to do. While the clock is moving towards the 2h mark - so no chance to even test the game before the "deadline" for refunds passes. This is no less than a total disaster. Needless to say: Requested a refund in time. I am not going to pay a game which neither finishes the install nor let´s me create an account/profile. Total disappointment.

10 yrs ago this was good and the graphics have come a long way since the beginning of the franchise (unfortunately no jiggle mechs currently), the storylines are amusing (except for the excessive dialog), quests require an absurd amount of running back and forth to near impossible locations with mobs of enemy npcs spamming either slow or stun abilities to deter you in their digital labyrinth constructs. forcing gamers to play the game their way like a mindless lab rats for a minute bit of entertainment. low lvl pvp areas a filled with players having maxed gear/stats ganking noobs making it difficult to enjoy.

Game could be better, a lot of the same old same old. They try to launch new content, but it ends up remaining stagnant in my opinion. The fact they try to modify the game with one simple aspect - "meta shift" on what appears to be a bi-monthly standard is quite concerning. If they just took time to look at what they're producing prior to launching there wouldn't be as many issues. One major thing I wish they would do to try and stem some of the PvP nonsense that occurs based on "flavor of the week" classes/builds - Make gear bind to that single character. Easy fix! I know, I know, people will complain about having to "play their characters for gear" but, it also makes you have to play the game and your character. Not farm with one absurdly overturned class then never have to worry about it again. I don't mind the game, don't get me wrong. I love a lot of the aspects they have, but it seems quite stale. I don't know if it's the combat? Maybe it's the ruining of other gear sets? I can't really put my finger on it. Again, this is my opinion on the matter, don't let it be a deterrent to any others who may be interested in the game. It has it's moments, and it's truly a fun experience when playing with friends.

This is the most addictive game I've ever played. I dumped thousands of hours into it back in 2020-2021 on console and have played off an on since then. It recently got its hooks back into me and I'm starting fresh on PC. Huge world with tons to do from exploration to crafting and refining your builds with tons of skills and armor options. Awesome music and overall world vibe, and I think the graphics look great even for an older game. Also, huge credit to the devs for this - there's not a shred of pay to win anywhere in sight. This game is super relaxing to run around and harvest materials and kill trash mobs, but it also has great challenges for serious players as well. It's worth noting that ESO is a combat-focused game and has one of the most enjoyable combat models of any RPG I've ever played. It's very much geared toward an ARPG style, so if you love isometric hack and slashers like Diablo there's a strong element of that here. I've mostly played solo over the years and there's tons to do that way, but lots of fun stuff for people who want to play in groups as well. Just a wonderful, wonderful game

I've played this off and on since the release of the game . It has had it's ups and downs. I have not played the most recent content Necrom or Gold Road. What I do enjoy about the game is the freedom to go where you want to level and the lateral progression once you've reached max level. Another thing that I enjoy about the game is being able to play with friends from the start regardless of the level difference. Most of my playtime has been on the Xbox, if I could have one thing I would love for the Xbox, Playstation and PC servers to all be the same servers.

Much more interesting plots and story lines than your average MMORPG. The game is def playable without a subscription, but having one makes storage and item mgmt much easier. I would recommend this game to anyone that is a fan of open world games or MMORPGs because its really the best of both worlds. Small mechanics that remind me of oblivion, Morrowind, and Skyrim but still very-much its own game. Joining a social guild is also recommended. The in-game loot store is deff on the pricy side when compared to others, but it is all very optional so no need to partake if you dont want to.

This game is fantastic! It has thousands of hours game play. The content is interesting, the dungeons are great fun and even more fun with friends. I have over 4000 hours in the game and highly recommend it. What I don't recommend are the micro-transactions. The "optional sub" is not optional if you play the game how it's meant to be played. You do however get in game currency to spend from the sub. I personally can't play without the sub. If you are looking for a huge MMO RPG then this is definitely up there.

At the time of this review, this is my most played game on Steam but I must admit I haven't played in quite a while. That is no fault of this game, I just have so many other things to play. As for the actual review. I am a big fan of MMOs and I've spent at least a bit of time in just about every major MMO. In my opinion, this one stands far above the rest. The flexibility of abilities and just incredible breadth of items in the game makes the sandbox a build-crafters dream. Any class can play and role with just about any theme you could possibly come up with, and it's glorious. The smaller ability bar also means you have to be so much more intentional with how you set everything up, you can't just have every ability ever. You are forced to choose. I think that's good. Visually the game looks great and as a long time fan of The Elder Scrolls, I love the setting and this take on the world. My one critic and it is a major one is pricing and monetization. I wish the game was not so expensive to keep up with, with multiple expansions a year as well as a monthly subscription to access old expansions and basically features like a crafting materials inventory. Not to mention the AGGRESSIVE pushing of loot boxes for cosmetics. If you are able to stand strong against the urge to spend more money, even just the base game which often goes on sale for less than $10 can offer 100s of hours of content with no subscription required. That is a great deal in my book.

Elder Scrolls Online has great game play mechanics and excellent questing quality. It has re-playability and content for most types of people. The majority of the player base is friendly and welcoming to new and returning players. This game has become a "comfort food" for me.

Although the gameplay mechanic is different than the main Elder Scrolls games, it's still a good game if you want to play solo and explore the way you would play Oblivion or Skyrim.

First ever MMO i ever played. Am a little biased due to my love of the series, especially Skyrim. But this is a completely different game. That scratches the needs of any player. From casual questing, decorating housing, collectin gear, achievement hunters to hardcore trials. Very expansive game, that you can get everything you need from base game, but paying for a few things would get you some of the coolest stuff ive seen in some games. Events to get exclusive items, or past items missed will help new players and vets who dont wanna go for cash grabs. I just have to say I love the game and will be playing for years to come. From console to PC just so I can take this game experience to the next level.
