Snakebird

What surprised me about Snakebird is how tough it gets. The puzzles look simple at first, but one wrong move and you’re stuck or have to start over. It really makes you think several steps ahead, and the difficulty ramps up quickly. Definitely frustrating at times, but that doesn't spoil the fun.

One of the best puzzle games of all time (Third best, in my personal opinion). The movement of the snakebirds is simple and fair - in fact, watching the trailer will show you pretty much all there is to know. The genius of the game comes from how well the puzzles are designed. After solving many puzzles you will be left admiring the elegance of the solution. While there is (famously) a steep difficulty curve, it never throws you off the deep end, and solutions to puzzles build on previously found strategies. The graphics are really cute, which kind of contrasts with the difficulty of the puzzles, a couple of which will undoubtedly take you over an hour.
