there has to be something i'm missing. i've played a bit and even when i'm winning i'm not sure what's happening. i haven't had the light bulb moment. it's just so pretty and a good interface i couldn't stop. i would personally not recommend this game to to others as i cannot clearly explain the point. but the majority of positive reviews seem to understand what is going on. not every game is for every brain.

Meh, the skills you unlok for the characters are the basic one but improved. Like that great card you played now is even better so you can play against harder mobs. Not my taste, it was fun for a while and im sure you can like it, but i would prefer if the skills werent just better versions of the basic one. It tells me i need to grind in the game to reach the end and thats no fun when you re not unloking new skils for your character just improving the same old ones

Love the game - played for countless hours on the demo before the 1.0 launch, so I have many more hours than steam shows. Great dev team, great game. Loved PUD too trippleB! The one issue I see with the game, its far to easy to delete a base deck and than have no clue how to rebuild it. Protect the base decks from deletion. I just lost Magnor's base deck and need to rebuild it and so far cant find it published anywhere.

Really good game. Story was interesting and the poker mechanics combined with card ability synergies are really interesting, plus there are 5 characters to choose from with many abilities. Bought on a deep discount, really worth it.

Game is such a vibe to just sit back, throw on a podcast or something and throw some hands out. It's RPG poker. You are going to win big and you are going to lose horribly. If you're too weak and feeble for RNG then take your ass back to some other more forgiving deck-builder. That being said, once you unlock some of the higher level cards you can straight up force wins 90% of the time with some of the builds. My only gripe is I wish there was a bit of a faster speed option. First world problem though.

This game is addicting. You don't need to get everything right. You can always replay the Adventure and try again. I love the voice work and the written word during the story telling. I like to hear them over and over again. The game mechanics are fun and it's enjoyable to setup cards for certain kinds of attacks along the journey. It takes some practice, but never gets dull. It's a grind for some, but for me, it's an escape. I'm in no hurry, although speed runs are also built-in for gain. The User Interface is perfectly built. It's gorgeous too. The animations, sound effects and voice reactions during battle are dead on. This one is a masterpiece production. Deck building is available too and is easy. I normally don't bother in other similar games, but I've built my own deck here for the first time. The card variety is enormous from which to choose. Replayability is the name of the game. Or, you can just continue your journey to see what comes next. There is a story and I like it. I have no idea what I'm doing and it took me several games to figure out the basic operations of play. I restarted many times to relive the beginning. (You have to delete files on your system to restart and disable cloud storage.) The artwork on the cards is sometimes a bit too cartoony. I wish it was much more majestic. But, it's not bad and is still very fun along the way. Immersive and powerful it is. I love those D&D dice to cover the hit points. Remember, you must always draw the next card from the deck of fate.

Don't normally say this, but most the negative reviews are from people who sound like they're just bad. A fun game to pass time, in no way are the odds stacked against you.

Would've recommend it, but I think they really misunderstood what "upgrade" means. Surprised to found out the upgrade made my skill card worse.

Completely unsatisfying combat system where you have to give up your powerful attack just to take damage and there's nothing you can do about it It feels like playing actual poker with how little control you have over the rng, just with some basic "deal 1 damage" abilities sprinkled in

It's probably just me, but when I read "deckbuilding RPG with poker-powered combat" I assumed they'd offer a tutorial on how to play poker as well as the game. Nope, can't even attack properly if you don't know the poker hands. Shame, the voice-over and introduction to the story seemed interesting.

This game uses Poker mechanics. Anyone who's ever played a couple of hours of Poker in their lives will tell you that losing streaks are commonplace. Don't know what I was thinking. Uninstalled, next game.
