Fun, simple, nice soundtrack. Not worth for full price but in sale it's great.

"A Neon-Soaked Masterpiece – Nitro Kid is Pure Strategy Bliss" I've been hooked on Nitro Kid lately, and I have to say—it’s an absolute gem. The game brilliantly combines turn-based strategy with roguelike mechanics in a way that feels both fresh and deeply rewarding. Every move counts, every enemy pattern matters, and every run leaves you itching for just one more go. What really sets Nitro Kid apart is its atmosphere. The neon-drenched aesthetic is magnetic—think retro-futuristic Miami meets 80s cyberpunk. The synth-heavy soundtrack pulls you into a sleek digital world that’s hard to leave. It’s stylish, bold, and completely immersive. Strategically, the game shines. Building your deck, choosing your path, and planning your moves on a tight grid feels incredibly satisfying. There’s real depth in the mechanics, and the difficulty curve is just right—challenging without being punishing. If you’re a fan of games that make you think, adapt, and strategize under pressure—with a gorgeous visual flair and addictive replay value—Nitro Kid is a must-play. This is indie innovation at its finest.

Good fun, worth the price. Easy to pick up. Good take on a lot familiar deck building and roguelight elements. Fun use of Into the Breach style board play.

I got it on sale and it's better than I expected. Worth the (sale) price with zero regrets.

I got this game at a pretty steep discount but I've really enjoyed what I've played of it so far (12+ hours, only just unlocked the third character) POSITIVES - The premise, the 80's' vibe and the synth music - The graphic design and the UI are very, very clean. Me likey. - I like the use of Bruce Lee (L33) and Mike Tyson (J4X) as inspiration. Both feel quite different from each other. I've not played as the third character yet. - J4X's combo mechanic is cool, encouraging the player to rack up multiple hits before certain cards can be played. - I really like the idea of fighting games as deckbuilders (I've also played F.I.S.T, on Nintendo Switch) NEGATIVES - Some of the gameplay concepts like Burn, Stun, Fragile, aren't very well explained. If you've played other deckbuilders, you'll be fine, but I did have a stop a few times to grasp how it worked in this game. - Sometimes playing the cards feels a bit fiddly and imprecise - This is just a personal preference rather than a negative, but I find the movement aspect of combat deckbuilder games the least interesting part of the combat, as it slows the game down a lot. I prefer the direct confrontation of Slay the Spire style combat where you're trying to work out how to do the biggest amount of damage and not worry about movement. OVERALL - Cool combat game with a lot of flavour. I can see myself playing it for a while.

Nitro Kid doesn't stray far enough from it's inspirations' mechanics to shine in its own right. the enemy intentions from Into The Breach clash painfully with Slay the Spire's clunky block system. most of the game is copied from the latter, and i don't feel like it built on StS in a meaningful way. i have yet to see a tactical deckbuilder done well. i think the two genres are fundamentally at odds. Nitro Kid isn't the worst attempt i've seen but it isn't good.
