If you enjoy the base game, and having large populations, do not get the DLC. You'll get half way through year 2 and drop to about 10 FPS. There no bottleneck of CPU or anything, my Laptop still have plenty of resources free, the game just runs like crap during the day. Stick with vanilla until they fix this glaring issue.

As of this review update, the sole developer on the project has stopped in to update the community and share some of his progress on what he's working on, and he did confirm he's been quiet but is definitely keeping up with the community. So, with no further ado, I am updating to a positive review; as originally mentioned, this really is fantastic new content for a really great game, and a slam-dunk thumbs-up content-wise. I've played a LOT of management games and city builders and colony sims, and the system in this game is unique, innovative, and presents a really amazing layer of interaction with your citizens via its economic system. This DLC adds military components, a world map, and a lot of accompanying extra options for your economic system, diplomacy, etc; it general it adds a whole new realm of gameplay in the same way that the addition of the world map in Songs of Syx did. That said, I feel like this system is already far better balanced and integrated into the game than the world map of SoS. It fits nicely and neatly into the flow of things. I would like to definitely make sure buyers are aware, there are a couple fairly serious bugs right now (most notably (to me at least) an issue some players, including myself, are experiencing where if you equip a soldier with a bow and they to train on it, everyone else in the barracks glitches into a "fleeing" state for the rest of the day, so having archers basically disables my military), and there are a lot of reports of performance issues (though I personally am running the game on a $200 potato laptop and have more than 250 citizens with few issues that I'm aware of), but the bugs and performance are being worked on; it might take a while for everything to work fully correctly, so if you're in a hurry and don't want to compromise on things like having to avoid archers, you may want to wait. With those caveats, however, the game is mostly in a pretty decent state, and most things are working quite well, though there's definitely a learning curve. Bugs or not, I've had a fantastic time with this game, and as long as you don't mind working around a couple specific bugs, everything is functioning pretty well already; if you have patience the DLC and its features will be even better when everything is fully working correctly.

From what I have experiments, this DLC currently has some bugs which causes the base game start to drop FPS dramatically, start from 30-40 civilians, or in other mention years 2. Beside that large bugs hoping to be fixed by sometime later, the new features in this DLC is really good when come to diplomacy and dealing with other lords. And to those who look at this DLC review for a way to fix your game, simply disable this DLC and back to your game. I will change my review when this DLC got new update for fixing this issue.
