Train Simulator: Semmeringbahn - Mürzzuschlag to Gloggnitz Route Add-On

A truly first class route, that will have to go down as one of my all time modern routes despite its relatively short length. What it lacks in overall A-B mileage, it more than makes up for this with its beautiful design; stunning scenery and amazing high quality detail. The route is an absolute pleasure to drive, and I soon 'bagged' all the included scenarios. which were thoroughly good fun to drive and worked flawlessly. To have such a smooth run with a generous number of scenarios (which are included with the route) is most impressive. Whilst not the fastest of European routes, its rapid twisting turning nature, and steep climbs and decents makes for some hugely entertaining driving. For those that love their super-elevation it's here in spades, and very well executed; the elevated fast switching curves at times almost makes it feel like a wonderful rollercoaster ride! The included rolling stock fits in nicely with the route, and overall is high quality in its detailing; these are very good models. The ÖBB 1116 is a most satisfying drive, with overall good quality driving physics; IMHO this particular Taurus has better sounds than most in the game, and the steady 'throb' at high speeds is particularly atmospheric. The included container wagons also display a nice range of sounds, including super wheel flange effects as the train carves its way around the sharp bends. To experience the incorporated Austrian signalling system, makes for a few nice subtle changes from the modern German routes available for the game. Anyway, in summary, all in this is a very enjoyable route, with simply stunning scenery, and is supplied with some decent quality roling stock, and enjoyable to drive scenarios. Can highly recommend!

Here we have a lovely Austrian mountain route. This time... with Austrian stock! The views are truly amazing on this route. Scenery is well does. The assets are very well done. Tunnels are made to look like they're actually dug into the rock. One tunnel even has an open side where you can see out the side of the mountain. The bridges are fantastic. Also the little details at Semmering are lovely. Truly a marvelous route. The good: Amazing scenery and asset modeling for the entire length of the route. New OBB Eurofima coaching stock which now adds for other routes like Augsburg to Rosenheim. Some new wagons that I can't remember. They're in the features list. All coaching stock have realistic sounds from vR. OBB Eurofima coaches are also well modeled with a fantastic passenger view. The bad: Short. Career scenarios. Reused HRQ Taurus (OBB 1016) with a LOT LESS features and basically is a dummy train for noobs. Get the actual HRQ Taurus if you intend on driving one. Quick Drives are bugged. Some trains will be on the wrong side... and coming towards you. Despite the bad I reckon it's a very good route. 9/10 - Nice route :D

Yes! Yes! This is what I was looking for. A beautifully crafted mountain route. I am especially impressed with the sounds of the rolling stock and the environment. I applaud you, this is amazing! Mind I am cranking the detail up to highest and putting some pressure on the GPU. I am running at around 40-50 FPS with regular drops, but I really can put up with that in exchange for this fascinating route.

This is quite possibly one of the most detailed routes available. Its also one of the shortest. While I recommend this route understand there are caviats. Free Roam and Carrer route only. New signals and no tutorial on reading them. Rubbish time tables! You wont make them unless you exceed the speed limit the whole time, or exceed comfort on acceleration (see unrealistic traction). Again DTG includes trains with automatic dynamics. I must say that they do a much nicer job with the 1116 in the way they perform. When they bite in, they dont throw passengers three rows forward. Much more gradual. Unrealistic traction, even in snow/rain. While I know the Siemens engines have automatic sanding, the whole "I can do 300+k Nm of traction" on a snowy day is quite disturbing. A bit of balencing would be nice, or adjustment to the UI. The 2.5-2.7% grade will have you white knuckle on the brakes and dynamics. Especially when the couplers go slack when the pneumatic brake release.

This is a good mountain route. The scenery is great and an amazing experience. The loco is very nice and scenarios are fairly decent. Very challenging and I like trying to keep within the speed limit while going downhill.

The scenery is beautiful. With the Taurus you can surely have a nice experience. Unfortunately there are several mistaken PZB 500Hz points. You pass an all-green advance signal, thinking there would be nothing to care for with the PZB, then after some 400m you get an emergency brake. This happens on vR expert line BR 101 and RSSLO Talent. So you'd have to run a quick drive first, take notes of thouse points. Or you could press the PZB acknowledge all the way during a career mission : p

Undoubtedly the best line in the whole series. Not the longest route, but filled with challenging slopes and bends and full of well-crafted details, even the preserved carriage at Semmering (though they did not get the color quite right, should be whitish blue as I remember). Coasting along the line with a EuroSprinter is fun but requires more patience and attention as the complex route is hard to navigate. But here's a fact: A Regional (Express) Train from Mürzzuschlag to Gloggnitz only cost €9,30, meaning that this DLC is more expensive than the actual price to travel on this route (at the time of review). Let that sink in.

There were times I found myself staring off into the quite beautiful scenery having a hard time keeping my eyes on the signals. All scenarios function correctly, the driver cab, train exterior and passenger view look great and sounds are quality.

A very pretty route, it has some faults including incorrect speed markers. As you approach Gloggnitz yard near the end of Morning Haul scenario there is a 100 kmh speed limit shown, this is in fact only 60 kmh. There are a few more and they should have been caught during a QC check, but like so many others the faults are released with the route, as a sort of surprise let down. Another quirk of this scenario is as you are starting out, there is a passenger walking to the left of you, you won't overtake him until you are doing over 15 kmh, he doesn't need a train at the speed he's moving at. Its saving grace is that it is very pretty. No advanced signalling, scenarios are a bit blah, no variety in engines, limited rolling stock seen, overall a bit bland, but as I say its saving grace is that is very pretty. Pick a train in quick drive, a nice sunny day or snow and have a ramble, it's good for that.

Short - but lovely and flawless. Great assets, the rocky mountains look fantastic. A joy to drive along this scenic route.

This is a must i believe. Maybe one of the best routes you can get for the game. Beautifull, challenging with interesting scenarios. i can only say good things for this! I believe it's worth full price. P.S. This route has achivements and you can get them all if you try, they are not hard.

This is one of my favorite route from DTG since it 's picturesque although the length is kind of short. Would have liked to see an extension pack extended to Vienna Central station at least. But for S$7 while on sale , you can't really complain.

What's to say about this route. It's fun weather you drive the electrics that come with the route or you run BR 86 and 58, it's a nice driving route and even with smaller trains it's a challenge and the scenery is on the better side of DLC. the only real fault for me is the tight turns and constantly hearing the sound of scraping wheels.

One of the best routes Ive purchased. Like others have said a bit short but to be honest I find sitting at a computer chair for over 1 hour a bit too much so this routes length doesnt bother me. Looks and sounds great the 1116 seems to sing to you as you power up. got to put this in my top 5 and for the sale price of $4.99 what is there to complain about, buy it.

An excellent route that can be enjoyed on a number of levels. The scenery is spectacular, however to enjoy this with external camera views you will find it best to turn off SIFA and PZB. With these turned on it is very difficult to drive and leave the cab. That said the route is a good way to learn how to use PZB and the slower speeds help in identifiying track-side markers and signals which require a PZB acknowledge. It took me many attempts to complete a scenario without the dreaded emegency brake application for failing a PZB response. But that's the fun.

I got this for 2 USD. You CANNOT beat it for 2USD. Honestly, though, it really is quite nice for even 20 bucks. Challenging grades and decent detail.

It lacks some of the speed signals on the HUD so you can easily find you are overspeeding because the max speed drops instantaneously without you knowing beforehand so you don't know if you have to quit speed. Quitting that, it is a wonderful DLC.

i really indeed love this map its the best one there is so many places to see love the grahpics i brought this map back in 2015 didnt know i owned it and i love it.

This is, without a doubt, the most beautiful route in the game. The scenery is amazing, and while the route is fairly short it is incredible in its complex look and has a fairly moderate pace. For such a detailed route, it does not seem to lag much either.

DTG finally fixed the PZB bug on this route as well as other minor things. They also updated the manual. Route is recommended now !

Nicely done very enjoyable, nice senary a little short (25 Miles) but you really can't go that fast so the full length on quick drive is roughly 40-45 mins. Totally worth the $20 bucks.
