I can't really recommend this now, skin dlc should be unlocked immediately after purchase without the need of grinding or reaching certain achivement, especially when you force people to parry when the parry mechanic in this game suck.

There are two things that confuse me about this DLC. Two more costumes are sold separately from the game in the form of DLC. And when I say that "two more costumes are sold separately from the game in the form of DLC", I'm a little cunning. Not just two costumes are sold separately from the game, which in itself I don’t like, but access (!) to unlock them. In fact, you also need to complete two challenges in order to gain access to them. I don't get this tricky maneuver. If these skins should be unlocked by completing challenges, why tear them away from the main game and sell them separately? The functionality for unlocking them has already been made, and the DLC with costumes came out on the day the game left early access. So why should these costumes be hidden behind the paywall and not inside the game itself? And on top of that, you still need to complete those challenges. The bear costume is cute, yeah, but I'd rather refrain from buying these skins and suggest buying an artbook or soundtrack instead of this DLC, seriously.

After grabbing the purchase, theese skins become unlockeable for you, you need to do specific things for them to be unlocked. It appears that I have been mistaken, for the Bunny suit you don't need to grab 30k "Soul Essence" . Soul Essence is basically Souls in this game, you get it from killing enemies, the ingame desc is wrong, probably a lesser mistranslation. You need "Mana Absorbed" for it, 30k that is. Wich means.....You have to parry. A Lot. The way to parry, is before the enemy lands an attack you have to melee. Wich is F key for vanilla. I don't really like this method of parrying, its kinda hard. If it would be 10k, I would be totally fine, but 30k will take a perfect parry-guy even 15+mins. I'm not perfect, I miss a lot of parries XD So yea, ranged projectiles parry gives you around 60 Mana, melee attack parries gives you around 140 Mana. So you should gather around a lot of melee mobs, and hope for the lucky parry. If you can get a biting Shadow, he is the easiest to parry, altho don't try it with the Doll with the needles, she is a nightmare to parry. It also appears that this store page also says you need to use the ritual of absorbtion. Welp. Nevertheless, cute outfits.

DLC skins are gated by achievements in game, which is really stupid. One of the skins is gated behind parrying. This wouldn't be an issue except that parrying in this game is completely broken and inconsistent.

Apparently after you buy the DLC, it still makes do the unlock requirements in game before it allows you to access them... Like what???

Not the biggest issue, but I feel like DLC that you have to pay for shouldn't really be achievement gated like this. The free skins, sure, that's fine and I get it. And if this were a new area I'd also understand as spoilers for the main plot are a thing. But this is neither free, nor anything that could have spoilers. Again, not a huge deal, but it is annoying.

Some might say putting the costumes behind a requirement is bad or lame. But, I had a lot of fun getting them unlocked specifically the bunny suit. Definitely a interesting way of adding dlc costumes into a game.

Puts Nobeta in a bear suit and a bunny suit, simple as that. People are complaining that they are achievement gated, but I've seen plenty of games that make you have to work for their DLC skins.

Bear: Beat the third boss.
Bunny: Absorb 30,000 mana from parrying. I did this in Obun Shrine - Secret Passage, group up the melee enemies, use Ritual Thunder to slow down time and increase the parry window.
Kuma skin is great and you unlock it easily through progress by beating a boss Rabbit one on the other hand requires you to do the parry mechanic perfectly to gain 30k absorbtion, the parry window is like 2 frames on some enemies so this is easily a 30 minute or so grind if you're lucky or way more otherwise, it's not a mechanic anyone should actually be using when dodging is just so much easier. Love the devs but this is a mixed bag. Honestly both outfits are cute though so worth it.

You need to grind to get the skin or you should so into this that you can play this game 100 ~ 300 hours And I think this game is not ment to be play again and again because of lack of content.

Spent 11 hours playing the game to use the bunny skin. Translation error made it impossible. Thanks.

It's a DLC that gives two new cute (and in the bunny suit's case amazing) outfits for a very small price. You do have to unlock them, but it can be done with patience. For those struggling: to get the bunny suit, I recommend getting Absorb to level 2 (there is a chest close to the one on the wooden stand, a bit difficult to get to, though) and then Parry-grind on Monica in phase 1.

Ngl Worth it Every cent of it xD but the parry for the buni is really tired asf :< make things easier to parry / decrease the requirement soul from 30k to >>> 15k/10k

Kawai + Nice Costume But for bunny it need correct description on the game since it says 30k souls essence instead magic absorption But 30k magic absorption is very hard to do. Since parry is very hard. Hopefully it will get nerf

The skins are really nice and although a lot of people are giving negative reviews because they're behind an achievement wall, I really think it adds to the game. Not every DLC needs to be instant gratification of buying it and getting it, this adds a bit of extra content to play for at a good price point as well.

These are very cute skins indeed. BUT! 30k souls absorption is way to much. I'm fine with needing to unlock them after I bought them, but 30k? The parry in this game is not great at all and now I got to use it a LOT! To get this outfit. Maybe one day I will get it.

Everyone who is complaining about parrying and 30k Mana absorbing are just suffering from this symptom called "Lack of Skill" Got both the skin after 1.5 hour of buying the DLC. Bunny Skin is best skin, dont @ me Lol

Edit: Ok, so I confirmed that you do need to absorb 30k magic points, so the Steam page was correct while the in game description was not. If you learn the timings of attacks for the doll enemies with clubs, it'll take about 15-20 minutes of parrying the same enemies over and over. And now that I'm done with this, I will probably never parry again, so thanks for this requirement, devs. Very cool. Amazing skins, dumb achievement wall.

If you can't parry to get the Bunny costume, git gud If you can't beat Monica to get the Bear costume, git gud. Expecting DLC content to be handed to you on a silver platter for that instant gratification is cringe. Would you have the same expectation for DLC that adds new abilities? Would you complain if a DLC placed a cool power behind a hard boss? Earn your costumes and flex your skill with the game, not the fact you had 4 dollars to spend.
The Fact of the Matta
The costumes are unique alternatives to Nobeta's classic Witch outfit and have great design. The bear costume is ridiculous and silly in a good way, and the bear motif on the staff is a nice touch. The bunny costume has a stage performer feel and level of class, as if Nobeta is about to pull a rabbit from her bag and say "ta-da!" The design and quality of the mesh and textures of the bunny costume alone is worth 4 dollars imo, so getting a second costume seems like a great deal to me. Something to consider: There is a mistake in the unlock conditions for the bunny costume. It claims you need to obtain 30,000 soul essence, which you gain from defeating enemies and bosses like "souls" from your Dark Souls games. However, the actual unlock criteria is to absorb 30,000 damage points with the Absorption spell art, which is basically a parry/counterspell. Parrying is achieved by pressing the melee attack button on the same frame that you would take damage (give or take a tiny, tiny, fraction of a second). You'll know when you do it right. The absorption effect persists for a couple of seconds, so you can gather points from other attacks that hit you shortly after you land the parry, but be aware that you are not invincible forever. However, you do not start the game with the power unlocked, you can first obtain Absorption after the first boss fight. Talk to the cat in front of the first Goddess Statue you find after beating the boss. If you're playing on "Standard Mode", then enemy damage will be very low and it will take a lot of parries to unlock the skin. My advice is to play the game on "Advance Mode" (the REAL normal difficulty), and if you're not inclined to use parries in normal play, then wait until a later-game level where enemies hit hard to grind parries, or repeatedly parry a mid-to-late game boss (and keep returning to the Goddess Statue if you beat them so the cutscene doesn't play, thus resetting the boss). A lot of enemies start hitting for more than 100 points of damage later on, so the 30k target is not as high a demand as you might think.
