Okay. So, weird question, but... Anyone here ever see Battlestar Galactica: The Plan? Or Razor? They're miniseries within the larger Battlestar Galactica TV show. You absolutely CAN follow the events of them if you havent' actually watched Galactica... But you will constantly be VERY aware that what you're looking at is a sidestory, and there's a ton more stuff going on that you're not seeing. THat's what playing Crush House feels like. I can't in good conscience give it a DOWNVOTE. Because that implies I didn't enjoy it. I did, I enjoyed the hell out of it. But it felt like there was another, much larger story that was happening, and not just the idea that there's these people who are doing the... Stuff, look, it's a conspiracy story, I'll just say that Character A and Character B are engaging in some sort of side story throughout, and you learn a fair bit about them and what's been going on. The thing is, it feels like not only is what they know and talk about happening, there's actually an even BIGGER story happening that even THEY are only vaguely aware of. Sort of like if they were in a game, that would be the mystery they're following, while you're playing a sidestory of their story. This sounds like a bad review. I mean, you could say it is. But also? It's a hell of a fun game. You might not go for it at $17, and if you don't want to, fine. But at a discounted price, I absolutely cannot recommend it enough. I'll call it 3.5/5. Still STRONGLY above average.

Unfortunately this game is really fun but lacks the polish for me to recommend it. It's not very clear what the audience wants you to record a lot of the time. Because of the randomness of how the characters act you can't guarantee you'll get the footage you need for quests/audience approval. I remember one run the audience was asking me to film a character that wasn't among the characters I had chosen lol. Also only having four characters in the house is kind of lame, I feel like there's definitely room for more. I had a lot of fun with this game. I played on the easiest difficulty for the sake of watching the character interactions and getting the story. But I don't think the average person would enjoy playing it that way, so I'd have to say I wouldn't recommend it.

Alright, this game was shockingly fun. I stay up thinking about this game. I'm obsessed with it. Yes, it's repetative. That's the joy! You know what's happening, everything gives a new interaction, there's DOZEN of different interactions and I love the aesthetic and artwork and even music. It beautifully fills that need to watch trashy tv without actually watching it! the characters are hilarious, it's short and sweet [could be completed in 2 hours]. I highly recommend this game for a quick bit of fun. I would NOT recommend this game if you hate trashy tv as thats what it is, and I fully understand that if you don't like trashy tv, you're not going to like this game. everyone else? give it a go! hilariously catty, fun to try and please the audiences, and even has a "horror" element that keeps me coming back.

I really enjoyed basic gameplay and found the “get the number to go up” style fun and addictive. But it had too many issues for me to recommend. The characters are complete nothing burgers, and the way it handles the end is just annoying, like how is there no new game plus or option to continue or free play?

Crush House is the 90’s dystopian reality tv show you didn’t know you needed. I really enjoyed the play loop: record the “talent” being ridiculous, and please as many of your audiences as possible, while simultaneously completing very specific filming requests from the aforementioned “talent”. When you get the “on fire” emblem and all the icons are flashing in the screen…that’s the cheap dopamine the people want! I haven’t quite finished the game, and I feel okay about that, which is telling regarding how gripping the overarching story is, or isn’t…but it’s the kind of cheeky game that is challenging enough to engage, and non-energy intensive enough for playing on a Wednesday night when your students have siphoned all of the energy from your soul (middle schoolers, iykyk), so I know I’ll finish it eventually. I will say, the loop could become dull, and I’ve seen others commenting on that, but again, I think it’s a game you play at first for the novelty, and later for the familiarity and the dopamine. Also, it’s A+ on the Steam Deck in both handheld on docked.

this might not be for everyone, i personally love matchmaking and photography games and this was a unique combination. getting all the audiences pleased was a fun challenge and the over-story was cool. main downside is how repetitive the character interactions are outside of their personal requests. this is mitigated by being able to complete the game in about 4 weeks/ a few hours. would love to see another game in the style with new characters and locations.

I really like this game and generally recommend it! However!!! As I play it, I keep finding myself frustrated by things that I really wish the game had. Briefly, I admired this game's unique gameplay and fun character designs, but I feel in some ways that it falls short of its full potential.
Pros:
The characters are fun and interesting to look at. I liked seeing how their individual relationships would play out over the week. Set design was really appealing, I actually liked the style of the game quite a bit. It was a little cartoony, but riiight at the edge before too cartoony. The idea of buying set pieces to augment your set that stay between runs was clever, although I found they were a little pricey? Arguably most important: The gameplay itself felt unique for me. I can't personally think of another game where I'm filming for the majority of it. I grew up filming little videos on my phone, and this sort of made me feel that feeling again. I love trash TV, including a lot of reality dating shows, and this scratched that itch in a way I've never had in a game.
Cons:
RNG is really annoying in this game. Sometimes you just get an audience that's almost impossible to satisfy. And then sometimes you get THREE of them. Other time, you get lucky and get audiences that are just happy to have the camera on. It made satisfying the audiences just feel like a dice roll. It's not a big deal if you fail, and the audiences are re-rolled if you fail enough, but sometimes it just felt like I drew a bad card from the start. On the subject of audiences, I found myself bothered by a lack of a "general audience". Like, I want to get a little credit for filming a dramatic fight from a good angle, but because my audience is filled with feet guys and conspiracy theorists, I get no reward for filming a kiss or a fight. I still want to cater to the audiences, but I'd love a little credit for doing a good job filming a typical exciting reality show scene. I was really, really hoping for some kind of "highlights" or editing system. I really wanted to be able to scrub through all my footage from the day. I wanted to have to cherry pick brief seconds to best satisfy advertisers/fans/whatever. The option of editing together a "commercial" would be a blast. Sometimes you sprint into the room at just the right moment to film something, and it feels like "Whoa, what a close call!" Reward me for that in an "editing phase", please! Overall, this game is unique and I imagine it would be fun to stream! As far as the content goes, I didn't find it to be particularly saucy or overly adult-oriented. Language-wise, sure, but there's nothing lewd on screen, as far as I can recall. I really feel that with some upgrades, there could be a really cool, replayable experience in this lovely gem. I hope the developers come back to it to add features to flesh out replayability. The story itself has been fun enough, but I'm mostly drawn in by the game's core mechanics.

A fun nostalgic game with early to reality to vibes. It’s a bit simple and repetitive but I love the vibes.

This game is really fun! the characters are really interesting and the story is a lot more involved than I expected. I had a really good time playing it. the art design is very cute. I've seen comments saying the game lacked polish. I didn't really notice much beyond the occasional grammatical error in the text. it's infinitely more polished than most AAA games and is less buggy than most indie games I play. I got 7 hours of gameplay for 1 playthrough, although I'll probably do 2 or 3 more playthroughs, making it well worth the price, especially if it's on sale.

Never played anything similiar, its such a unique game and much fun <3 It may seem repetitive at first sight, but there is a pretty deep and mysterious story to find out about !!

its a nice game but I hope they add more stuff to keep this game fresh. It doesn't really feel complete and is repetitive after a while.
